I got my R7 from the Camera Store and am loving it so far. Stepping up from a 6D there are so many features to appreciate. The autofocus is just a treat. So much nicer than the contrast detect biased system in the 6D. I really like the manual focus assist feature as well. This camera has reignited my love for making images.
I have a Canon 60D and wanted to move up so I bought the Canon R7 with lens. I am not a camera person and always shoot in AF and have always been pleased with the photo quality for what I wanted for me, shooting car shows. The fist thing I didn't like was it seemed small to hold and I wasn't use to that and the grip is small. I understand that Canon doesn't make a Pistol Grip for this camera but there are a 3rd party company that does and the will give you the grip that you like and more battery storage. I haven't tried it yet but will and will order a Pistol Grip. Your review of this product was very good to watch for me.
I’ve been using my R7 couple weeks now, and really liking it. I was not a fan of the 7DII so I opted for an 80D, which to me was the perfect size and button layout. However, with medium size hands I’m finding the R7 really comfortable…small finger right on the bottom edge of grip, but not annoyingly so as with the RP. The “joystick” is pointless if you’re right eye dominant because the touch screen works awesome to move the focus point. I personally wish they kept the on/off on the left side and a display up top, but at the same time I find the screen bright and somehow even easier to access compared to the 80D. And with all the customizing options, it’s really hard to complain with a lack of buttons. As for the EVF, I wish it was at least similar to the Rs 3.69m display, BUT the higher frame rate is a must (I don’t recall the R having that). For some reason the EVF resolution doesn’t bug me like it did with the Sony A7III (I think was about same res). And the IQ is fantastic when using good glass. I’m really amazed at higher ISO shots (6400 and even 12800) when processed in DPP or DXO. Easily a stop better than what I’d accept on my 80D. For $2k the R7 is a great camera for sure!
Companies like Canon should have an automatic switcher between Electronic Shutter and and Manual Shutter, where below a certain shutter speed (e.g. 1/60) it should automatically switch to Electronic Shutter because you're "probably" not shooting action at a slower shutter speed (therefore Rolling Shutter wouldn't be an issue).
I solve the lower EVF res for still photography by using a 5.5" monitor by SmallHD. With 2000 nits brightness it's fine outdoors in bright light. Love it.
Would love to tell you my thoughts on the R7 but here in the UK I have been waiting over 3 months for my pre-order with no firm delivery time in sight.
Sir , Features wise R7 is feature loaded and Value for money , we only wish if price size they could match Nikon Z5 as this comes in this Price Bracket Range .This camera would help lot of Armature, Photo enthusiastic etc to excel in thier profession
Second! …seriously though. I’ve had mine for a few weeks now. everything appears to function as advertised. for sports , although the focus hit rate is not 100%, i’m getting more in focus keepers compared to the slower frame rate of my 5D4. I can’t say I’m loving that I have to use either DPP or DXO Pure raw In conjunction with Lightroom to get the cleanest possible files. I don’t love time in front of a computer, and the extra step required for .CR3 files is a bit annoying
Excellent review episode. I agree the EVF could•should have been higher res however probably not a deal killer. Otherwise an overall well spec'd camera.
This camera really does my head in, because it by large debunks something like the Lumix G90 and the G9 probably as well. In some aspects anyway. Speaking of Lumix, looks like with the GH6 you really do need to use either manual focus or the Focus Transition feature to have smooth focus pulls.
Except they are now a third of the price and in the G9's case 5 years old. It should really be compared to the OM1 which absolutely destroys the R7. But then it is about £400 more expensive.
@@JoeMaranophotography Quite true, but then again, camera development is very slow and it's not like Panasonic is going to release a G9(0) successor this year... if ever! And it wouldn't even be that good if they reuse the sensor from the GH6, nor affordable. There's only doom and gloom as far as I can see. The OM--1 does have some nice features though.

Thanks for watching and for your insights. I agree that the R7 is a great camera for the price.

I'm receiving mine today with the 50mm. Great video..

Thanks for sharing another wonderful video like always 👍🤗
A worthy successor for the Nikon D500, well done Canon 👏
I Understand what you mean about the sound of the mechanical click. I thought the same thing, but you said it better!
Can you please tell us which camera gear you have used to shoot this video?
We use the Panasonic GH6 with the 10-25/1.7 and the 25-50/1.7. Thanks for watching.

@@AoyagiAichou Yeah I think the only hope for M43 at this point is Olympus. Panasonic clearly don't like money or learning how to market a product.
All i can say it's that r7 saved the low buget users of 90d... it realy made 90d useless
Hello, can we do business cooperation?
R7 miss focus with some lens, canon why???
Yeah that shutter sounds weaker than my 60D!
