The movie was great! It's the kind of romcoms they made 20 years ago but with a softer Christmas theme instead of a hallmark Christmas movie. Anyone that likes romcoms would like it.

Small town housing prices are WAY lower, especially if there's no mortgage. And no matter where you live when you lose over half your income it's easy to barely make enough money to pay your bills, they bought it when he was still alive. Not fixing the heating also means not having to pay for heating. Of course money wasn't actually an issue for her in this movie, but the size of her house had nothing to do with it.
Literally why I started watching this movie then ten minutes in and no Boyle or Doug Judy looking for Peralta or nothing was when I realized it was click bait!

The neighbours' first reaction to learning that Kathy is dating a snowman? A causal "It's Christmas", meaning that if had been literally ANY other time of year, then they'd have been aghast?!
Kind of feels more like a gender-swapped Pygmalion to me... Doesn't make it any less creepy, but it's got more in common with that myth than Frosty the Snowman.
