[Correction: this apparently originates from DnD, which I was not aware of. I was told the mother-daughter story in a psychology class, which tuns out to be untrue. It has been presented as an indicator for your personality on the internet, which it still isn't. It just wasn't an original idea. I'll keep my original comment up, I hate it when people take it down and the thread has holes in it.]
A mom and a daughter made up a chart at their kitchen table, where people are given 2 traits, from 2 lists: chaotic, neutral, lawful and good, neutral, bad. The combination is your personality, which is on the same level as astrology. There is no science or psychology behind it, like with most of these. Sorry to be a bit dickish about it, this "Alignment Chart" nonsense is so overused, especially given how little it means.
I'm not hating on OP for using it. It is that personality can't be distilled into two basic traits, from 2 lists of 3. There is so much more to it and there is nobody is who only shows those two traits. It is far too simple, which is why the internet loves it.

I don't think it's so much smirking at himself, rather than trying not to break and losing the battle. If you watch older videos of James, he (almost) never broke.
Though it seems in more recent years he has a bit more difficulty.
His deadpan is even better when he doesn't break and remains unreadable, nonetheless, he still remains a truly brilliant comedian.
