I played this game soo many times on my GameBoy Advanced SP as a kid. My mother always forced me to go with her to the beach for hours and I beat the game pretty much everytime when we were there. Absolutly love Zero Mission.
Unfortunately, I think the series just rarely sold well, so not a ton of people were very aware of it to begin with. It makes no sense and is a damn shame too. I really hope Prime 4 still comes out and is at least decent.
Love listening to your past experiences with gaming and your dad. I always watch your randomizers and playthroughs after a long day at work. Keep it up man, the channel is strong!! ^_^
There are some huge secrets and speedrun strats in this that you can do especially early on. I don’t want to spoil some of the secrets so just know there are tons of potential sequence breaks and some are extremely hard. Maybe a bit easier for people who got really good at Super Metroid tricks.
Hey Bill, hope you're doing well. I haven't played Zero Mission: got introduced to the franchise via Fushion. I'm glad we're both blindly running through this game. Have fun playing and hope you have a good and relaxing time in England! In the meantime, excited to see your next video.
What's crazy is that I had just gotten a copy of this game last week, and only yesterday learned of this series of videos. First time watching any of your videos, though.
GoodOldDaysGaming, the reason that Fusion allows you hang on ledges because of the Power Grip, which makes its first appearance in Zero Mission. You'll get that a lot more later. Once you obtain the Power Grip, you can hang from ledges. You can also wall kick continuously if you know what you're doing. Of course not everyone knows how to wall kick continuously.
I didnt grow up with any metroid games but at age like 14 i found super metroid and its been my favorite game since. I have played a lot of the other 2d metroids but in my opinion they havent done things as well as super metroid (I'm a game programmer and i love some of the design choices super metroid made).
I just finished playing this game. I had tried playing the NES game, but man it sucked. But this game, wow, it's fantastic. What a great entry into the franchise.
Hey good old days gaming. I’m totally enjoying all your LP’s. Have you played AM2R yet it’s way good. I like it better then both fusion and zero. Loved the story and atmosphere. I also enjoyed Samus returns on 3ds. But at times it was a little to easy and hand holdy. But anyways keep it up my friend.
So I actually just replayed this again after a few years, and yeah, the items are hidden as fuck. Having to backtrack out of Chozodia for power bomb expansions is brutal. I will say though, the double missile ballspark is still one of my favorite hidden items of all time
I know tgis is 4 years ago but I gotta ask, how do you walljump like that, I've been trying (and failing lol I've been stuck looking aroubd trying to make it to kraid and have watched your playthrough for guidance) to play this game and I had no clue you can even wall jump in this game
I would LOVE to see you play the fan made game "AM2:R. Another metroid 2 remake" You can easily play it via a computer and some type of controller. There are download links all over the internet - I played it using my Cell phone and it is hands down the BEST 2-D scrolling Metroid game I have ever played.
I guess it's like how I have NES nostalgia, even though I was born in 1990. I had my older brother's NES as a kid, so it became near and dear to my heart very quickly. I guess that is why I never judged things from the past so harshly, and it's why I always had an interest in older consoles back when I was a kid (I always wanted to play the Atari 2600, and with the GBA Activision Anthology, I finally was able to.) I also bought the PSX Intellivision collection because I was so interested in what came before my time. I have nostalgia for so many things that were before my time. ;w;
I don’t usually double comment but this is separate, I came to this game years later because I was wondering what it was, spent hours on it getting various playthroughs done. I was never able to beat Fusion, and yet I always saw it as far more of a horror game than the other Metroid games. Just the atmosphere and vulnerability compared to other games where you can get tons of health relatively quickly.
Have you ever thought about doing another Metroidvania styled game like Shadow Complex? Shadow Complex has the gameplay mechanics of a solid Metroid game but a story more in line with something like Metal Gear.
I was due to fly today, March 9, but due to coronavirus and lots of people urging against it, I had to postpone. I'm pretty upset about it. These videos were recorded a week prior, though, so while I was away something would still go up.
Vishnu be praised! God of preservation, coincidentally, but while I know you're not happy, I say 'Vishnu be praised" because I'm happy you didn't go. Europe is less safe than America right now. One of my favourite people on Earth (you know, Jon, my Eastern Philosophy professor) is currently in Rome with a class of his and I'm on pins and needles for him. Italy's been hit hard, as I understand it. Like I say, it's a shame you can't go, just on a personal level, but I'm happy you're not in England just in general. Basically, to sum up my sentiment, sorry but not sorry. Know what I mean?
You know what Sam Dillard should do is a Final Fantasy one, you think? That series has excellent music. Have you ever heard the full "Cloud's Theme" just on piano? I'll link you: ruclips.net/video/404Vyt92lCs/видео.html I can play it but only a simplified version of it.
Telling you roughly where to go doesn't mean you immediately need to go there. You can still explore. Plus, knowing where the critical path is lets you stay off it easier if you that's what you want. I'd take that over aimlessly fumbling around for hours, anyway.
Do you see your parents much anymore? I really feel bad for people in the "broken home" scenario because I'm personally very close with my parents, and especially dad. I think every woman in her right mind is a daddy's girl, though, but that's just a personal bias.
After this blind playthrough, I will do a 100% best ending (on Normal) playthrough where I actually know what I'm doing.
Good Old Days Gaming and I will enjoy every second of bothb
god i love this game
I played this game soo many times on my GameBoy Advanced SP as a kid. My mother always forced me to go with her to the beach for hours and I beat the game pretty much everytime when we were there. Absolutly love Zero Mission.
Metroid. A forgotten epic series
Unfortunately, I think the series just rarely sold well, so not a ton of people were very aware of it to begin with. It makes no sense and is a damn shame too. I really hope Prime 4 still comes out and is at least decent.
Once again commentary is outstanding. Love watching these videos.
Love listening to your past experiences with gaming and your dad. I always watch your randomizers and playthroughs after a long day at work. Keep it up man, the channel is strong!! ^_^
Let me tell you, you've really got me back to playing my old GBA and NES/SNES games. I regret nothing.
Been watching for three years hoping you would play this game, thank you man your great!keep up the good work. 👍
Now this is what I'm talking about!!! I loved this game originally amd this update. Thank you Bill

this was my favorite metroid game, next to metroid fusion. it's amazing and i love it, it's good to see someone playing this game :)
Hey Bill, hope you're doing well.

Good luck and have fun on your run Bill, i look forward to both your playthroughs.
It’s now on the Switch. I been waiting for this for so long.
Lord Almighty, it's MZM! Fusion is still my fav though. Looking foward to the episodes.

Can't wait to pop into this one.
Hey! Great to see a ZM play through! Would love to see a randomizer run some time!
Ohoho, this is a rare video. Bill on a blind playthrough, lets do this
“Blind”
Looking forward to more of this playthrough. Glad I actually caught a relatively new video from the almighty ^_^ #WeLoveHappyBill
Nostalgia trip hell yea
That place with all the green brick reminded me of rolling through walls in a Sonic game.
I didnt grow up with any metroid games but at age like 14 i found super metroid and its been my favorite game since. Fusion may be my favorite but zero mission holds a place in my heart
I LOVE This game and I love the video! Can someone please tell me how he did the wall jump in the beginning?
Just don't forget about Metroid: Samus Returns.
In other words, the Sequel to NES Metroid, which was Orginally called Metroid 2: The Return of Samus.
Hey good old days gaming. I’m totally enjoying all your LP’s. Have you played AM2R yet it’s way good. I like it better then both fusion and zero. Loved the story and atmosphere. Also fuck the MB fight in this game
I just realized that zero mission and fusion had a stereo option while playing on my friends GBA years ago
I know tgis is 4 years ago but I gotta ask, how do you walljump like that, I've been trying (and failing lol I've been stuck looking aroubd trying to make it to kraid and have watched your playthrough for guidance) to play this game and I had no clue you can even wall jump in this game
8:37 No blind LPs? But that's the best part! Watching someone figure stuff out.
I would LOVE to see you play the fan made game "AM2:R. Another metroid 2 remake"

Yes I love this game and also I’m 15 and this is the only Metroid game I beat before you
Im15andthisisdeep

Zero Mission was created with Sequence breaking in mind -Fusion unfortunately was not created with the intention of sequence breaking.
I don’t usually double comment but this is separate, I came to this game years later because I was wondering what it was, spent hours on it getting various playthroughs done. I was never able to beat Fusion, and yet I always saw it as far more of a horror game than the other Metroid games. I was going to buy this but I lost my gba sp with Metroid fusion and spend ages looking but I couldn’t find it
Need to recommend AM2R for the channel. In some ways, it’s the ultimate game for fans of 2D Metroid.
This is probably my favorite game to bomb jump in
I want to recommend a GameCube game I'd like to see you play. Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem
At 23:55 u blow up a secret path and it tilts me so much rofl. Ik it's 3 yrs later 🤣
At 23:54 there is a secret area that you opened up but walked by at the bottom of the map/shaft.
Have you ever thought about doing another Metroidvania styled game like Shadow Complex? Shadow Complex has the gameplay mechanics of a solid Metroid game but a story more in line with something like Metal Gear.
Zero mission.... Best game ever.
Oh man
If you do want to play Samus Returns there is always Another Metroid 2 Remake or 3DS emulation with Citra and the official remake of 2
Fusion > Super > Zero Mission
HIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII my super smarty spongecake! You're not home from England yet, are you? I thought you were gone till April.
I was due to fly today, March 9, but due to coronavirus and lots of people urging against it, I had to postpone. I'm pretty upset about it. These videos were recorded a week prior, though, so while I was away something would still go up.

Hey
you like that the game tells you where to go? No mystery? no exploration. bleah.
Telling you roughly where to go doesn't mean you immediately need to go there. You can still explore. Plus, knowing where the critical path is lets you stay off it easier if you that's what you want.
I'd take that over aimlessly fumbling around for hours, anyway.
Games you grew up with? Well, I won't keep breaking your nuts over Goemon, but have you considered Mario Sunshine?
Looking forward to this series. Personally this is one of my least liked metroid games. Not sure why, it just feels like a boring slog.
Do you see your parents much anymore? I really feel bad for people in the "broken home" scenario because I'm personally very close with my parents, and especially dad. I think every woman in her right mind is a daddy's girl, though, but that's just a personal bias.
