All Lizzy Borden’s albums are savage. First to last. You need to hear and know what lizzy is singing to you about. His music is like a movie just with guitars and drums. Lizzy is an evil genius
Absolutely Love Your channel. I appreciate having the opportunity to be introduced to bands and artists which I was too young to ever hear or be exposed to.
Funny. I never wrote them off for being glam. I wrote them off because I thought they were some sort of proto-death metal outfit. Then I heard their music without knowing who it was. I heard a mix tape a buddy handed me with them, some Metal Church, and some Savatage on it. Turns out my favorite tunes were the Lizzy Borden tunes.

Visual Lies is my fav hands down...maybe because it was gifted to me in the 80's, it probably holds a certain level of nostalgia. Also, "Me Against The world" was featured in the film "Black Roses" and for good reason...it's an exceptionally and excellently written and composed masterpiece...in my opinion of course.
Most under-rated power metal band ever. Master Of Disguise is still a symphonic power metal masterpiece album unsurpassed. Love You To Pieces, Give 'em the Axe, Visual Lies and Menace to Society are albums every power metal fan should have in their collection...and I do..lmao Rod Of Iron and Sins Of The Flesh are 2 of the best power metal songs ever recorded.

LIZZY BORDEN! Absolutely. My room mate was their soundman at the time, and they showed up in our living room one night to listen to their first major pressed vinyl. The band is great and "Lizzy" was an interesting cat to talk to. Great stuff.
Thank you so much for this wonderful video about this far underappreciated, brilliant band!! Visual Lies is one of my all-time favorite records!! And, I also live My Midnight Things, especially "Long May They Haunt Us"! I hope they make another album!😃🤘🪓

I can't believe I found out about this band only after watching the movie "Metalhead"... What an outstanding, outlandish and underappreciated band - thanks for the great video and for making them more known in this day and age! (ノ´ з `)ノ
I remember getting the Give em the Ax EP through the mail back in the day. We had catalogs for Metal Blade and Enigma records and ordered stuff in the early 80s because our record shops sucked around here. Lizzy and WASP sold me on the outrageous stage shows. Thanks for doing these ... They really bring back my high school years ....
Master of Disguise is really a one of a kind album. Really love how it sounds epic and progressive, but also has the energy and catchiness of 80's commercial metal. Could be a really huge hit if was released by Queensrÿche.
These guys are such an incredible and underrated band! Lizzy Borden was an incredibly creative songwriter and a beautiful yet badass singer. He was also kinda hot, especially in the Love You to Pieces era. I discovered these guys on a compilation of 80s metal back when I was but a heavy metal novice. I can’t remember everything on that compilation, but I do remember it having American Metal by Lizzy Borden and F*** Like a Beast by WASP. Those songs changed my life. I still listen to those bands to this day.
One of my favorite bands ever. I 1st heard them in 2002 when VH1 Classic played the Me Against the World Video, was blown away by the look & the intensity of the band's musicianship. Legit went to FYE the next day (remember that place? LOL) & scoured the metal selections to look for any CD I could get my hands from them...ended up with both Visual Lies & Master of Disguise. Needless to say, been a huge fan of the band ever since. Have every release of theirs in my collection, the only band other than Queensryche to get that nod lol, but whenever I hear the name Lizzy Borden & new release together (even though there's only been 3 albums in the last 20 years, plus a best of just released not too long ago, I get super stoked. Best. Underrated. Band. Ever.
I liked the '80's stuff, after I didn't realy follow...and finally i met Lizzys stuff again, and I can tell, Tomorrow never comes, Under your skin, My midnight things, Obsessed with you....purely are perfect songs!
Love lizzy Borden. Cool video. As much as I love the 80s stuff I love the later stuff too. We only come out at night is a classic track! appointment with death and midnight things both are very good.
Man, I LOVED LB. Saw them in some dinky club in Cleveland in 1984 and never looked back. Dude chopped up the stage and the opening band's speakers! It was awesome. Long live Lizzy Borden.
I was fortunate to see the "Menace to society tour" opening up for Motorhead at Lamour's in Queens NY, the "Visual Lies" tour at Lamour's in Brooklyn NY, and the "Appointment with death" tour at Dingbatz in Clifton NJ. All 3 shows were great. Thank you for making this review.
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the channel! Since you are doing bands like Lizzy Borden, Loudness and KIX, do ones for bands like Raven, Malice, Accept, Savatage, Kingdom Come and Stryper! \m/
The song "Dead Serious" an extra track on The Murderess Metal Road Show to me is a vocal masterpiece. Lizzy not only hits major high notes in it but has a part where he sings low which sounds incredible.
Lizzy Borden was a breath of fresh air in an overly hyped metal scene. A lot of these more "popular" bands were one hit wonders where Lizzy Borden just went out balls to the wall and did what they did best...just cool heavy metal. Dead Serious was ahead of its time. I played in three bands that did covers of it. Last one was Lovecraft that ended last July.
Great to see another Loudness fan here, I absolutely love Niihara-Sama’s vocals and Takasaki-Sama’s guitar-work, their releases from the 2010’s are also great (Rise to glory, Metal mad, and the sun will rise again (both the Japanese & English versions), but yeah, they’re still doin’ great...

Great review of a unique and criminally under-rated band. The albums you mentioned are classics and their best work for sure, also agree that the later offerings have a few shining moments but overall lack the quality, ferocity and hooks of the earlier discs.
I bought their first album LOVE YOU TO PIECES, when I went to my local record store at the time and saw the album cover on display in the new release section and thought this must be some kickass metal got it , took it home and have been a fan ever since.

Great band. Saw them live many years ago, they were incredible live. Sadly this band has never recieved the credit they deserve for being an incredible band. They are still cranking. Hopeful to see them live again.
Tuned out by M.O.D. saw the video for tomorrow never comes when it came out and although I dug it , it wasn't classic L.B. to me. Mad respect for his fortitude, drive and creativity. Give em the AXE!!
Instead of waiting for alternative music to go away on its own like Lizzy said, I really don't think anyone would have cared or even held him accountable if he kinda helped speed up the process with a few good swings of that axe of his in the direction of a few grunge bands.
I came to Lizzy through the Soundtrack to Black Roses - a ever so slightly different version of Me Against the World! It’s still my favourite track and visual Lies is my favourite album! Took me years and years to track down a really good quality copy in the UK! But happily I have one along with the Black Roses Soundtrack on vinyl! I also have their last album also happily on vinyl and it’s not that bad!
That’s an amazing quick-change act... Lizzy musta been pumped to be the headliner for Yngwie and his band... what year was that man? Yngwie’s friendly according to online acquaintance he even gave her a pick, how awesome is that!
@@dragonqueen6589 I think around 2006 or 2007. This local band “Mung” was the opener. Then Lizzy did like 5 songs and then a 45 minute wait for Malmsten...apparently (I heard the next day) he was sick with the stomach flu or food poisoning but he did the show anyway.

I was into them with me against the world, but I got caught up with American Metal!!!
What a great tune!!
But I feel that they're really underrated too!!!
They're great!! One of the greatest bands in heavy metal.
Great band. Saw them live many years ago, they were incredible live. Sadly this band has never recieved the credit they deserve for being an incredible band. They are still cranking. Hopeful to see them live again.
I was in a glam band back in Hollywood in the '90s and Lizzie had a band called Diamond Dogs. We used to do shows together and he was such a nice guy.
That’s awesome! Yeah, Lizzie mentioned Diamond Dogs in a couple of interviews I saw. I wish I could’ve found some footage. What was your band?
@@MetalSchoolChannel we were called Guttersluts.. Circa 1994-1995
@@mattmoss6121 Great name 😄🤘🏻
Keep posting your vids, man. Doing a great job.
Tuned out by M.O.D. saw the video for tomorrow never comes when it came out and although I dug it , it wasn't classic L.B. to me. Mad respect for his fortitude, drive and creativity. Give em the AXE!!
I love everything about your music forever your awesome 🤘💯🎸❤
Really well done. I'm really enjoying these. Keep it up!
Instead of waiting for alternative music to go away on its own like Lizzy said, I really don't think anyone would have cared or even held him accountable if he kinda helped speed up the process with a few good swings of that axe of his in the direction of a few grunge bands.
There was no support from the record label to do another album for almost a decade. I heard it in another interview he did.
Master of Disguise was 100% my favorite LB album.
I've seen these guys play a bunch of times around 1986-88 They played at a long Island NY club called Sundance.
I also have their last album also happily on vinyl and it’s not that bad!
this was also how I found out about Lizzy Borden, through the Black Roses soundtrack, which in itself is also an incredible album!
Saw these guys open for Malmsten in a small club in Toronto. The lead singer changed outfits for every single song.
@@deanbudgell6220 what a trooper! Such a legend, but whenever there is something he isn’t used to he absolutely loses it (there’s a Loudwire (I can’t remember the exact channel, but i’m pretty sure it was them) vid that featured him freaking out over donuts.... and that was because in Sweden, they don’t really have them, at least not the kind we’re used to)
Totally unrelated, but it must still be enjoyable going to a King Diamond concert. Man... can already visualise him doing “Out from the Asylum, and exactly how the stage would’ve been set up.(lightning, sound effects, the set itself)
Saw Lizzy and the boys. What a show. Thanks Lizzy
