Hey Dr. Webb, I just wanted to say I really appreciate you interviewing Dr. Chambers because I too want to be a Sports Medicine Orthopedic Surgeon. I certainly have a long road ahead of myself but I feel like I have the mentality to keep moving forward and your story has inspired me to keep pursuing my medical ambitions. Thanks!
Thanks for this Dr Webb, Dr. Chambers is certainly very inspiring because I'm currently interested in sports medicine. If my interests remain the same I'd love to pursue this career.
love your channel and the inspiring/motivational content you put out. I have a special interest in sports med so this really answered some questions I had. Thank you!
Very cool video, thank you so much! I came here because I'm specifically interested in this field but this whole series of interviews is so interesting.
Awesome! You CAN do it! Its a long road but worth it in the end! Keep up the good work and let me know if you have any questions along the way! Those are two different fields of orthosurg. By doing a fellowship in both you would be stuck with the impossible task of finding a job that needs both.
Hey! Amazing video:) A friend of mine had a huge injury yesterday.. What is something I can tell him to lift him up? I don’t want to pity him but I also want him to feel better. Any tips?
I go to medical school lol so yeah I like to watch physician channels. Why else would I ask for an Ophthalmologist interview ? I'm interested in becoming one.
Thanks for the video. I’ve been thinking about going into orthopedic surgery in oppose to cardiovascular. My question is for a major, do you have to pick sports medicine in order to be an orthopedic sports medicine surgeon, or that specialty opportunity opens itself up down the line.
It sure would be helpful. I swear all of these college students don’t realize how competitive med school and a super competitive specialty really is. 90% of pre meds choose something else.
Can you make a video about why you chose spine fellowship? Most of the patients I’ve worked with were miserable. You’re attitude seems too upbeat for that lifestyle. I mean that in the best way possible.
I’m scared because I’m am a sophomore in college and I have no idea what I want to do but I’ve always had a passion for anatomy and sports medicine but I’m scared it’s too late for me now
What do you think is the right way for me who will finish a master degree in sport medicine but haven't got a medical education like a nurse or doctor. Any tips?
This is my dream Job. I’m 13 years old right now and is there any special high schools I can go into? Also what are some good colleges to go to and like how much is it? I need help
Alright. I'll give you some pro tips. Try to skip a year of high school. Speak with an advisor or the principal if you can. Try to maintain that high GPA so you can apply for a scholarship into a college. 3.8+ is ideal. Have a strong personal statement. Be ready for anything. After that. Major in Medical Sciences or straight medicine. Please don't let the temptation of partying throw you off. If you actually take my advice and manage to skip a high school year you're probably going to be too young to party anyways. Skip a year of college. This will be easier as you bachelor's degree is based on your credits (the amounts of classes you do well in) instead of the amount of years you do. Study for the Macy's please. Overstudy. Study for 4 months straight. Practice. Over and over. Even when it becomes numb. Even when you fall into a depression. Keep going. Score 97+ percentile in the MCAT. Match into a ivy league or above average medical school. They'll be begging you to come if you're young, with a 4.0 college GPA and an over 95 percentile MCAT score. Forget costs and loans. They'll pay for you. Keep on the path. With the same determination and push you'll immediately that matched into Orthopedics. From there keep studying. I am currently in my 3 year of residency as an Orthopedic surgeon. And I am 26. That's how you do it young man. And I have faith that you will excel in life for your own sake and that of your parents. P.s. girls will claw after you with that salary, prestige and appeal.
Physical medicine and rehabilitation is probably the closest. Physicians trained in internal medicine, pediatrics, and emergency medicine can also be trained in sports medicine fellowships.
Dairon Collier it depends what type of doctor. Some doctors work long hours and other don’t. Family Medicine and Peds are perfect for work/life balance.
It's a reasonable question to ask, but for the young kids out there, don't go into this field for the dollars. You gotta do it for the patients and the love of the game
You are wasting your time have orthopeadic surgery to return you to sport. Its simple cannot do that. Orthopeadic surgery is a brutal intervention with brutal results.
She is so hard. I love seeing female surgeons, especially in ortho. We need more of them. They bring so much to the table.
How exactly do they bring anymore than a man to the table?
@@blessed8543 I don't think you understood what they meant lol
