I’m starting medical school this fall and this video is essentially everything I aspire to. The balance of weight training, jiu jitsu, sports medicine and family life is exactly what I want out of my career. It makes me happy to know that this kind of lifestyle is possible with the right amount of hard work and dedication. Great video!
Family life? Where do you see here family life? Man start from morning and come back home just for dinner, 1-2 Hour with kids and go to sleep and start again.....
@@rb8947 i'd say that's pretty normal for any working parent, regardless of occupation; Family life is evenings, weekends, and vacation - really can't ask for more than that - it's actually really enjoyable
One of my sons aspires to be an orthopedic surgeon. He actually sent this video to me because Dr. Stark repaired both my shoulders. He is definitely the real deal and great at what he does. Awesome video!
In my first semester of medical school, watching this video has definitely confirmed that ortho is for me (having an active lifestyle and helping other maintain their active lifestyle are two big passions of mine), thank you for uploading this Dr. Jubbal.
This is so inspiring, I’m applying to PA school this year, and I want to specialize in sports medicine orthopedics, and his balance of lifestyle and work is everything!!!! I need this on my life
Wow I am a peasant. One thing I noticed with these guys is they have endless energy. You either have it or you don’t. Can’t get straight As let alone become a good doctor if you are yawning 24/7 from doing schoolwork…good for them though they’re blessed
I want to do ortho sports medicine! I am getting my first med school decision today and it’s from my top choice! If I get good news, I’m hitting the ground running, this video only inspired me more. Thank you
I work for a group of Orthopedic doctors on Long Island and I've heard from ALL of the doctors how much hard work and dedication it takes to get to where they are at..
I needed this video… this is my dream job and I needed to see an insider for it… thank you so much! Currently only a freshman in College this will motivate me even more
Hey Kevin plz make a day in the life of sports orthopedic surgeon on a surgical day or part 2 of this series plz plz 🙏...by the way love your content 💛...
How did he see 30-40 patients from 10:15-4? I get some visits are quick but, he has to review pt charts and images, and even do minor procedures. All while averaging like 10 minutes per patient.
We really need more Day in the Life videos💯 so motivational and relaxing to watch! I know they are particularly for Doctors but I hope one day a PA appears in this❤️💪
Depends greatly on the specialty. Most Surgical Residencies and Fellowships are going to be a certain degree of hellish, but Orthopedic specialties can give a really good lifestyle. One of the worst specialties for lifestyle is Transplant.
I’m a martial arts 🥋 Tang Soo Do Student (Korean Karate 🥋) with mild osteoarthritis in both knees. I’m so grateful for my Orthopaedic Sports Medicine Dr! I LOVE my sport! It’s a way of life! I wouldn’t be able to do my sport with little to no pain without my Dr! I’m not stopping my sport unless it’s impossible to do it without severe pain and no treatment options. It’s literally the highlight I look forward to 3 times a week & it keeps me sane. Shoutout to everyone who keeps people like myself going in their sport! Y’all are amazing and absolutely essential! Thanks so much for what you do !!! ❤️👏👏👏👏😁
This is what I want. I dream of this. The lifting, bjj, being a doctor all that. This is really inspiring man , AND YOURE A BLACK BELT. I’m coming for this shit one day, I will have it all. God bless you man. I know you’ve worked VERY VERY hard, and the dedication, consistency, etc. I just turned 17 and this is what I want. I wake up at 5, lift weights, go to school, then go to MMA, then homework, sleep and do it all again. Thank you for showing me that you can truly do it all
Great video! I’m trying to decide between Sports Med DPT, and Sports Ortho. They both fascinate me, and I want to consider them both equally. However, I’m only a senior in high-school, so I suppose I have time 😅.
Pain in the right shoulder joint when I swim . When I twist or do rotational movements, the shoulder crunches.( there is scoliosis of the 1st degree, the left shoulder is higher than the right )
Wait. You mean to tell me it’s possible to roll AND be a surgeon!? Wild. With the amount of injuries in the sport, I thought one couldn’t do it. Imagine canceling a scheduled surgery because the surgeon injured their hand
I've seen that happen. Years ago a very good surgeon had to stop training as he hurt his shoulder. Partners gave him a choice-stay with us or keep rolling.
I’m 30 now and this is my first time ever hearing of a orthopedic surgeon, residency, etc. I always thought someone could just go to college for 4 years than become any type of surgeon.
My doc always did my knee injections old school by feel. Hopefully you keep in practice so you can do that if you don't have a fancy ultrasound for shots. Do you charge more to do the ultrasound guided shot vs if you did it the old way? In my experience, every time you add a tool, you add to the bill.
Question why is it when ever my knee touches the ground I get a super painful burning sensation or something it only hurts when I kneel on it or it touches the ground why is that it’s on my right knee I’m wondering if I should get it check out it or not not sure thanks hopefully you can give me a answer
I’ve had a dislocated shoulder for about a year now, I’ve tried many things but was to no avail. I’m really disturbed now I don’t know what to do pls I’m confused... What can I do? I need your help pls...
always wanted to do reconstructive surgery. But after watching the vid im not too sure about that hahaha. Still got a few years left do decide. Great video!!
Man, I wish a career in medicine in the UK was as well compensated as it is in the US. You can afford a Tesla and an Audi. Here, a consultant (attending) can barely afford 1 nice-ish car. It's increasingly difficult to get a property in London and a doctor's salary, when worked out per hour, is basically working-class pay. There's a STARK contrast ;) Maybe if I knew I was going to be rich at the end of my training, I would be looking forward to my career, but I'd be lying if I said I was, sadly.
Hey! Amazing video:) A friend of mine had a huge injury yesterday.. What is something I can tell him to lift him up? I don’t want to pity him but I also want him to feel better. Any tips?
Dr. Stark is real life Iron Man. Shooting this was a blast. Check out his IG here: instagram.com/erikstarkmd
we should ask him to put some of is hospital volg on he can show us his rounds
@Eddie Avinashi We all know his brother Tony aka Iron man but this is his younger brother, Tin Man
No. I won’t check it out.
This is the most ortho thing imaginable, and I love it
Haha. Yes it is. Ortho bro literally switches sports cars between workouts, then throws on a Rolex before clinic. Ortho bro to the max. I love it.
Lifts before
Yeah Brus!!! ❤🎉😂😮😅😊

@@rb8947 honestly that's the only thing that scares me
but don't forget that during residency and early training which will be at least 5-10 years, it will not be the case.
@@James-rj2bc Also after the norm in surgery is career driven people that dont have much time for anything outside of work. Been there done that.

This doctor fixed both my dads shoulder labrum and biceps tears, went great
The guy who is actually living our dream.

Being the recipient of several ortho surgeries, I have the utmost respect & gratitude for these surgeons.

This is such a great video. It really helps out the “so you want to be…” series
YOOOOOOOOOO, this guy is doing what I want to do, and living his life to the fullest. I'm smiling from ear to ear watching him go through MRI's 😂😂😂😂😂😂
I gotta say this video was so freaking good. Absolutely smashed it out of the park, great job Kevin!
Working out in front of your V10 R8. Absolutely love it
I am not sure how I stumbled across this but this was really cool. Seems like a great doctor and person to meet.
The videography in this is 🔥! And thank you for confirming that this is exactly what I want to do with my life lol. Great video as always Kevin
" Dealing with motivated patients "
beautiful perception I'm going to consider that in my residency selection.

Awesome video Kevin, as a MS3 in Eastern Europe i really enjoyed it! Keep up great work!
