@drewpweiner7042 My favorite for sketching is Concepts app. For professional grade drawing and painting, my favorite is Clip Studio Paint. Infinite Painter is a close second, in part because I can't transition a project between it and Photoshop quite as smoothly as I can with Clip Studio. Honorable mention goes to ArtRage Vitae with its realistic paint simulation.

Just bought it. Was going to go for the 16gb but I will mostly just be using it to draw. My s6 lite just keeps crashing too much and think its time for an upgrade. Thanks for the review
For an artist looking to get a more effective and portable art tool vs a stationary pc,, would you suggest the Surface Pro 9 or the Galaxy Tab S8? I like what I've seen in this review vs the surface pro 9 review, though I worry about whether or not a windows device would be able to handle programs like clip studio paint or premiere pro better vs a Samsung device.
Good question. So when it comes to making art in something like Clip Studio Paint the experience on something like the tab is optimized and you would be able to get the same things done. The Tab is a good performer. Video editing in premier, that’s a different story. Premier works best with dedicated graphics, and surface pros don’t have dedicated graphics. The Tab does have access to Luma fusion which is excellent and highly optimized, but it’s still in beta form and doesn’t have all of its full features yet. I would recommend the Tab over it honestly, just for the battery life alone.
This is the first time I've ever heard someone say something nice about the trackpad on the keyboard cover. This is my least favorite part of the whole setup. It has an unnatural level of acceleration on it which makes it nearly impossible to be accurate with. I hope they resolve it with the tab S9 cover. Every other part of the experience is top notch.
Wait, just to make sure sure, I could extend my work flow on my windows laptop to the s8 ultra? If so, that's awesome, why haven't any of the other 5+ videos covered this!?
Yes there’s a setting to use the tab as a secondary screen for windows devices. I never got the chance to test it so I can’t tell you if it works well so just want to note that.
There's a "Second Screen" option you can toggle on! I haven't tried it, because I used SuperDisplay instead when connecting my tablet with my PC, as that works better for using your tablet like a cintiq!
i bought this tab for something else.. now decided to get into drawing, was looking for a drawing tablet, just discovered that this tablet works well for that i guess 😅

Hi! Thank you for the thorough video. I am an illustrator usually using clip studio on desktop. I have a question regarding clip studio on galaxy s8 ultra, if I work on 4000x3000 ish pixel canvas 300dpi, will it lag if I have around 70-100 layers? (lag in terms of canvas panning and pen lag). I have viewed so many reviewer of tab s8 ultra, but almost no one mention how the performance on multi-layer high resolution clip studio file. Thank you !
Hi my friend. I do work at large scale and high resolution, layers wise I usually I don't usually get up to 70-100 layers for what I do, so I can't speak to that, but the one piece I had open the yellow owl was a large scale 18x24" 300DPI piece with probably about 20 layers or so and it worked fine. It has 12 gigs of ram which helps for that. You know it's a decent chip, but it doesn't reach the M1/M2 levels of performance that the iPad reaches. The new S9 Ultra just dropped which is more powerful than the chip in S8.

Not part of the apple-ecosphere so I know I'm missing out artwise, but I'm about to purchase the Tab8+ so I'm trying to find the most recommended app for that. Appreciate you!
