- Every year cars from all around the country come to FL2K as it's one of the biggest events for the high horsepower cars to meet up and show who's the best of the best whether it be Lambos, GTRs, R8s, Vipers or the 2JZ-powered vehicles. We caught up with Eric and his built 3.4L 2JZ-GTE powered Lexus IS300 to give you a breakdown of what it really means to be a contender at this event and on the streets of Mexico.

I have a 2002 gs300, fully gutted and makes 973 whp. My girl has a love/hate relationship with it. She loves how fast it is but hates when I see a car fly by, I downshift to pull up and she just shoots me a look like "You better chill" then I joke and play dumb like 👀"Uhhh....." Then all of a sudden I'm at 170mph, she's giggling, I'm happy and then I get a light slap when I slow down going "Ey, they wanted the smoke"😂

Ridiculously clean, fast and downright perfect is300. I’m currently building one myself, trying to find a 6 speed Supra trans that’s not going to cost me an arm and a leg, and the GE head.
w55/58 are relatively cheap.
a cd009 is very easy to find and not that expensive 😊

@@maperformance most are over done you hit the sweet spot 💯
may want to check out the th400 trans as a possible option instead of the t56... Murda, who has a 1300hp 7.8 second quarter mile is300, runs the th400 with the ford 8.8 rear end and seems to work pretty well
Andrew Do made 1411whp through a t56, but I'm personally going th400 on my is300.
And grannas went 6s on a t56 with the fastest manual import in the world
Dang, grannas got an is300 into the 6s along with their supra? That's crazy.... I wasn't saying one is better than the other, just offering different options to look at
@@curencynone why would you offer an auto option when he clearly wants to stay with a manual? An auto takes majority of the fun out of the car. Comparing murdas racecar to a streetcar with a simple setup is apples to oranges. If grannas wanted to I'm sure he could push an IS close to the 6s with a t56. I have a gr900 in my IS along with a grannas 8.8 & blowing the tires off I went 9.1 with barely any seat time in a street car. Ac power steering heat heated seats music everything a stock IS came with. Just a gutted trunk where my cell & battery are. This is a streetcar & as much as murda wants to call his car a streetcar everyone in not only the IS community but the jz community know it's not. So comparing an auto racecar to a streetcar with different goals was my point. His point was v160 parts are much harder to find & everyone is going t56 it's the obvious choice being its just as strong if not stronger & readily available parts & cores
@@Evil8GSR 3 speed sequential manual is an automatic now? And what exactly makes murdas IS not a street car? It's street legal, has plates, drives on the street, and when he was breaking the records he was driving it an hour or two to the track and then an hour or two back home after... but I guess I'm sorry for trying to be helpful and offering different options to look into incase he wanted to try a different direction
At what revolutions does the turbo start to work?
What’s the rear suspension setup? Coilovers? Spring rate?
I’m in cape with a 1.2jz gs300 being built, you read that correctly a 2jzge vvti head with a 1jzgte vvti bottom end

@@clov3zz860 too small, the inside materials suck, it doesn't make good power, etc. They're basically like when USA asks mom if they can have JZX car and mom says we have JZX car at home.
