This video makes me proud to drive a 2JZ... even to this day and with all these new technology cars coming out. The reason we own a car is because the engine gets us to where we want to go... that’s the heart❤️and emphasis... NOT the Apple carplay!! I 100% agree. I can’t stand all this tech they are stuffing in new cars and jacking up the prices. It’s disgusting what they have done to trucks particularly. Cruise control, power seats and windows, radio, heated seats, DONE. Don’t need all the other goofy shit.

Aarrggh! Stop saying it's 2jz swapped! IS300 are 2jzge from the factory. The owner even says it in the video.
People either do a full swap, As in they find a 2jz-gte to replace the ge with. Or they just turbo the ge. People also will do a gte bottom end swap. Still a swap.

The way the guy is saying it "2jz swap" is like he knows nothing about the car. It's factory 2jz. Not gte swapped. A built NA 2jz to handle boost. If he blows a motor and puts another 2jz in it doesn't make it a "swapped 2jz".

It's good to hear he's using a GE block instead of GTE swapping like the other is300 sheep. FFIM and a big turbo, cams, v160 with driveshaft and call this a day. There's so much more to this car though! great job on the build jesus!

This is an amazing build. Hands down my favorite jz build of all time, might not be the highest hp but the amount of love this dude put into his car is inspiring.
You know it's well built when you can daily it on "baby mode" and still make 760hp reliably, crazy car and awesome owner

Back when I first started turning wrenches at a shop around 19 years old this guy needed an alignment done on his Lexus IS300. I went for a test drive around the block and immediately fell in love. I love the way they look, drive, and feel. My attraction to them over the years fell off, but this brought it all back. All around great car.

Obviously this car is hugely impressive on every single level, but as a fellow IS300 Turbo owner I think I'm most impressed by the fact it's running the stock IS300 LSD! That's insane, and makes me breathe a bit easier about mine which only has to deal with a pitiful-in-comparison 342 wtq! Kudos for a truly well executed IS300 build!
Thats right. More flow, higher volumetric efficiency-the point of max torque output. That's a must on these lower displacement blocks which are so much easier to handle when you put 500lb. Ft. At 3-4k. As opposed to a 6.2 GM putting 750hp 750lbs. Ft. Stock.

I've always wanted to do one of these, the versatility of that car being a 4dr rwd and great engine and trans.
All the basic amenities and they are easy to find for cheap, now that I've seen it built so well, I can die happy knowing someone in the world did it this well, with such passion.

Yes I know the Altezza is the actual JDM counterpart but the Mark 2 shares the chassis , driveline as well as suspension

I just got a 15 year old is300 with the NA 2jz. Slick, fast, handles. Lots want a turbo and more power to you, but the NA has plenty of power. Awesome car.

It is swapped, that’s a 2jz-gte vvti turbo, the is300 comes with a 2jz but it isn’t turbo

Typically people fully swap the car from the GE to a GTE from an Aristo, Chaser, etc. All that Jerry and his buds did was swap the existing GE valve covers to the GTE valve covers so that it can look like a GTE. The GE has the intake manifold on top of the valve cover

I bought it at 156 thousand miles and it was the smoothest driving thing I’d ever been in, you couldn’t even feel the tranny shift gears. I gave that car hell and never really knew anything about 2j’s til it was gone now I wish I would have never sold it. I blew it up around 400k from not changing the oil for over 100k.

Bstimpy22 it’s just getting good and broke in. Take care of it, keep the oil changed and it’ll last forever. I even ran mine hot around 240k miles from my radiator being busted and it still had no effect on the performance.
