Look for a distributer in your area. It’s very expensive but lasts a lifetime. It’s Bluewater Series Coosa, 3/4” thickness. They also have 1/2”.. Try Google or check your local Marine Store. I found it on Facebook Marketplace. Thanks for watching! Subscribe.
We didn’t get to see the original outside layer go back on and original hole management in the repaired area. Did you fill and how the lower blind mounting holes not needed for the new motor? btw - my hull number is 5A9837. Transom is fine.
We bonded the Coosa together with a sheet of 1708/Epoxy. If we had done it before it would’ve made it more difficult to get it completely inserted in the transom pocket. It’s extremely strong and there are no cracks of any kind in the transom or well areas.
Hey man. I just picked up a 83’ 15 ss. It has some minor delaminating on the transom. Could I send you a video to get your recommendation on what approach I should take? I’d really appreciate it. Do you have an email?

Polyester is no good below the waterline. If you know how to apply these materials in a particular order you’ll have no issues. (Watch it again there was no Polyester over Epoxy). 3 years and still looks like new. Take a marine fabrication class.
Great video series and great job on the rebuild. Looks like it should be a forever fix.
Thank You! More videos coming on the Whaler!

Would it be stronger to bond the two layers of Coosa board together before installing it as one piece?

Wow that's a nice boat man what model and year?
It’s a 1984 (15’) Sport model. Built back better and Stronger then original.
Why not finish out with epoxy? Why use vinyl ester at the end?
You would think epoxy is better vs water intrusion and strongwr bond?

@spinfish1434 understood now, thank you for explaining. Will be doing work on transom soon, great info to know.
We’re did you get that belt grinder or is it like an attachment
Harbor Freight, it worked great, $39

Should have just used polyester. Epoxy was overkill and now you are stuck using it. Can’t put polyester on epoxy.
