You don't technically 'need' a basecoat. But the basecoat is hard and stable. It won't smudge around under your feet. That cool water wax is softer and won't be too hard. You don't want the wax rock hard. But you don't want it to smudge around either. That's why different wax for different temps
@@surfviking2798 that has nothing to do with the fact that you were required to wear a mask in literally every shop all around the world. What’s the guy supposed to do? Stop working for at least a year because of a piece of cloth covering his mouth… obviously he’s gonna wear a mask 🤦♀️

What happens if you surf on just the base coat

In the winter do I still use the tropical basecoat
