I've since done a COMPLETE deep dive and learned/demonstrated best way to beat this game - check it my comprehensive walkthrough on Milon's Secret Castle at ruclips.net/video/hRUGuOLNuXA/видео.html
Here are the items you missed: Rollerskate (Found in the brown window, top-left corner of the 3rd floor) - $60 - This lets you jump twice as high. Combine this with the blimp (the item that lets you glide) and it gives you an easier time killing the bosses and just platforming through the game in general. No clue why it's a rollerskate though! After reaching the 3rd floor I always grab the blimp first followed by the rollerskate, since the sword only makes a noticable difference on bosses. Feather (Found in the purple room, bottom-left corner of the 3rd floor) - $35 - This lets you ride the platform in the Rope room (the one where the sword is found). This is pretty useless since you can access the shop regardless if you can ride the platform or not. Paint Can (Found in a shop in one of the two brown windows, center area of the 3rd floor) - $40 - This makes the invisible blocks visible in the fake princess rooms. Very useful item since you had trouble finding those blocks!
I didn't learn about Left+start for continue until a friend told me about it later. Before that , it was try or die with this game but we didn't care, we just kept playing, lol.
I played this game back in 88. I was 8 years old and I was able to beat the game. And guess what, I never knew about the continue trick... This trick would have been so helpful back then...
You complained about the fire hurting you, but with the vest it doesn’t. It just makes the sound effect and makes you twitch like you’re getting damage.
In the first room on the second floor of the castle you missed the music box room. It was on the ledge across from the exit door. Missed the one in the second room on the second floor also. It was on the ledge on the left side of the room just above the moving hole in the floor ledge.
Oof I remember renting this as a kid and not knowing WHAT THE HELL I was doing, or WHERE THE HELL to go after a certain point. Not fond memories, and this still looks like more of a chore than anything, at least to me.
Good job I've enjoyed watching you play a game I've never seen beat. I could never get out of the well lol hope to see you play more nes games. I'm gonna subscribe
Here's the first one which contained Milon's Secret Castle: ruclips.net/video/nW9jJ_91JdY/видео.html It also has Double Dragon which I believe I reference a line from in my DD let's play (the first LP I ever did on my channel).
Let's Play With Brigands there is a hold button code that allows you to keep everything except it'll just respawn you outside the beginning but are you using a code to respawn you where you died with good life bars? That's damn near immortal tight ass sun soft wouldn't allow that ....i mean hudson soft
It was so tough because you can only go so far before you run into the dead end. It’s totally illogical to push the block in the first room. Where do you push anything in the game? The answer is nowhere, until that one spot. I went back to this game after getting stuck way back in 1988 when I was 9. I wanted to see if it was me or was the game ridiculously challenging? It turned out it wasn’t me - I got stuck in the same spot. Luckily I could check the internet for hints, something I couldn’t do back in 1988. Now I’m stuck on the secret doors on the second floor. 😫
This is definitely one of the hardest game back then when I'm a kid, not to mention I don't know how to continue the game every time I died I just restart the game. 😭
Yeah, this one isn't one of the games I would've been into as a kid. I dunno, the music repeats the same five notes a lot and the monsters just seem kinda drawn up and thrown into the game. Not to mention you're fighting with bubbles and there's a lot of secret rooms and going from door to door that would've left me lost. I played through Kirby's Adventure and it just barely made the cut but it had better music IMO and a diverse set of weapons and mini games which I kinda need in a game cause I get bored with just one storyline when playing games. But at least we got you started with something you enjoyed, some of the ones coming up I've done. Me and my brother played our way through TMNT 1, SPOILER ALERT the ending is a let down lol. And I've seen Finding Dory and it was actually good, not just a rehash of Nemo. Totally different story although with her memory I found myself yelling at her much like I do with some of your LP's lol
All the endings in these games were let downs. But it was our fault for not tempering our expectations down to nothing. How many games can you think of which actually had good endings in all of video games? I can probably count on one hand. Ha didn't mean to latch on to just that specific bit of your comment. Good to know on Dory. Good to know that my suspicions were confirmed and that you/people yell at me during my let's plays. It's always warranted.
Yeah I guess video game endings are kinda crappy, they just let you know that now you have to find a new game to play. Every now and then though you do come across one that leaves you feeling good. I've always enjoyed the ending of Sonic 2, maybe it's just cause I enjoyed it when I was younger, maybe you should try a sega game and find out for yourself lol

Good call, I wasn't paying attention to the bar.
You can only ride on the platform after finding the feather.

Wow. I remember those notes. I had no idea what I was doing in this game. This one and Deadly Towers.
This was one of my favorite games. I really missed it when i moved up to snes.
Had this for game boy. Loved it.
Same but I could only get to the second floor though.
I don’t understand how you don’t have a million subs. I love your content. I’ve never been able to beat this annoying game.
Much thanks, FishEyeGuy! This one was awhile ago; great game but yeah tricky and certainly annoying.

That's a fair analysis of this game. I like it more than I used to when it was more intimidating to me, now that I can beat it much more handily.

Why does the princess (or should I say queen) has a face that looks like a cartoon caterpillar?
In one of the shops you ger the strength of showing invisable things
I swore I remembered getting something to show those instead of guessing.
What a castle! Haha!
It's a secret to everybody.
The first game I played from Hudson Soft was Wario Blast.
That's interesting. I'm surprised Nintendo gave a different develop the reins to one of their characters' games.
link to game player tapes?

@@LetsPlayWithBrigands wow man thats cool, thank you for the link
It is just left and start to continue.
Yeah I always add 5 more buttons because I can never remember but it still comes out fortunately.

This game really stressed me out when I was young. Impossible for me to beat as a kid

this game!!!
The one and only!
This is definitely one of the hardest game back then when I'm a kid, not to mention I don't know how to continue the game every time I died I just restart the game. 😭
I'm with you with it being one of the hardest out there from back in the day.

Let's Play With Trophy Kids
Funny you should mention that...
