@@mikematei if I had watched the stream I would have told you every secret. The note blocks are in almost every room. The honey bees only spawn once but are almost in every room. The umbrella gives health when at maximum turbo. The bee shield is most useful and takes more hits if you grab a heart after getting it.
I played this for hundreds of hours as a kid. I was only aloud to play an hour a day after school. Took me 6 months to beat it. Thanks for taking the time to play. Big fan.
Mike you are a legend for playing this and beating it. This is top 3 for nes nostalgia for me, one of the most played games when I was a kid. Ive been watching on and off for months now, but today you have earned a follower.
Mike, a game suggestion. Legacy of the Wizard was one I owned as a kid, but we never got very far in it. I recall we started to draw maps to give us an idea what was where, and it was fun - but hard.
I remember beating the game but I don't remember much about specifics except how you could use different characters and they had different movement and weapon strength characteristics. Would be a cool one to see
This is great, I can't believe it took me this long to start watching your playthroughs Mike! It is hilarious how annoyied and persistent you get when something goes wrong, and how you get excited when something works out. You are completely right, a game is not really fun or memorable if it doesn't make you feel strong emotions. Love from a finnish fan!
I can't believe I've sat and watched 4 1/2hrs of Milon's Secret Castle...it wasn't all at once either, been watching over a few days, so I've been humming that theme for DAYS...I have no idea how you did this Mike, huge congrats! Thank you for putting your strems here too, being in the UK, I can't always catch them, so them being here is a blessing...except that theme tune, that's a damn curse 😂
Definitely a nostalgic NES game. I remember getting this game at Silo (television/appliance store) in the late 80s based on name and box art alone. Never beat it, always thought it was annoyingly difficult. I really enjoyed Hudson Soft games on NES (Adventure Island, Bomberman) at the time (87/88?) so that also had a factor in me selecting this game back in those late 80s NES glory days.
the japanese children were playing this kind of hard shit back in 1986 along with the the original super mario bros 2 on the disk system. the americans at that time have just started playing donkeykong math or the 1st super mario. it took over 2 years for this game to come to the us but still was considered hard and cryptic.
I actually like this game a lot. Lot of nostalgia involved there no doubt, but this one's up there with Zelda 2, Legacy of the Wizard, and Solstice for me. My uncle and I loved and played the shit out of the more cryptic games when I was a kid. I'd like my childhood back, please..
Bro, you are not Mike Matei unless you go through this game a second time on the infinitely harder second loop. You are known for taking on the most hardcore of challenges, and we expect nothing less of you than to beat this soul crushing and infernal game for a second time.
I found a Japanese version of this game on gameboy on the ground when I was a kid, imagine playing this without being able to read... I think the person who lost it missed the trash can.
25:18 , # is sharp , b is flat. Where on the sheet music with the time signature tells you what key the music will be played in. Instead of writing all of the notes that would be say, c#, they just put a # on the line that would be c. I'm quite rusty with reading music , so I could be a bit inaccurate. But that's just generally the idea.
Hi Mike, to answer your question sharps resemble #'s and flats are like b's. You were correct. Didn't see anyone answer that question, if you care to know.
Hi Mike, it was wonderful watching you play and beat this game. This is one of my and my dad's favorite games. You probably have heard about this game, La Mulana, it's an indie game. It's a longer game than Milon's and the fighting is weirdly similar. But the game is great and it has a ton of cryptic puzzles in there. I always think these two games are so similar. I would love it if you played La Mulana and see if you liked it.
I've been on a kick watching the shit out of your streams. Often you'll mention something you've played or are going to play in a stream and I'll just follow the trail. Came here from Wizard of Oz, think i got there from Mario Allstars. Started with F Zero 99. Actually caught some of your Project Overkill stream Live today! Was a lot of fun. You're the first streamer I've ever watched. I'm technically homeless right now, in treatment for Fentanyl addiction but I'll try to sub or something when I can because you've given me endless hours of entertainment in an otherwise boring ass environment and I genuinely appreciate you man.
I was legit relieved when Mike beat this cause i think it was actually driving him crazy, like not kidding ACTUALLY driving him crazy. Also wtf, you go through all that hell and you don't even get end credits or nothing. anyways great stream Mike, thanks for curing my boredom tonight.
I'm 39 minutes in and shocked. I used to play this a lot back in the day. I never knew you could continue.. I just got real good at the first parts. I only ever could get to the 3rd floor. I used to save the honeycomb things for after boss fights etc. I never knew you could balloon out of the well.. I'd just learned how to get in and beat the boss. and I'd get the honeycomb inside on my way out, to heal my burns. I also just found out there is a sequel on SNES that looks neat. "Do-Re-Mi Fantasy - Milon no Dokidoki Daibouken" Looks like a hidden gem.
I always liked this game. Sure it wasn't perfect, but I liked the concept and once you figured out wtf was going on, you knew to look in every room for the same 5-7 things. I remember being stuck in the fire room for a long time as a kid. Good job Mike. You got lucky on the last boss tho. There's 3 rooms, and 2 of the bosses are fake. You got the real one in the first room. Cool stuff
Hey Mike. Subscribed to your channel since you left the nerds. I enjoy watching you in the videos. I have a fond love for Milons Secret Castle. I have played a bit of it with the power glove! hah!
I need to play through Milon again. I was glad to finally do this stream here though. Grew up with the game. This was one of the avgn episodes I wrote. I have a fondness for it.
Five minutes into 2021 I am taking a break from Mario kart 64 to watch some other fella play Milons Secret Castle...... well I'm certainly not mad about it
Hey Mike, here's a couple game suggestions... Legend of the Double Dragon it's a fan remix of Super Double Dragon and there's a creator named Merso X that makes games, he made the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Rescue Palooza and the Thundercats games you've played...
I know Mike is joking, but didnt the mini mario thing come from Smash Melee, which was an updated version of the poison mushroom from Lost levels? Did Lost levels come out before Milon?
Love all your streams Mike , Hope you had a great Christmas with Erin , my only pet peeve , it's not much of one but I wish you read the chat more when we are live on Twitch. I know some games are very high demand for focus and concentration, but every so often perhaps pause the game to read your fans questions and comments.

Milton's secret stapler
Its made by Milton Bradley , lol
The Mandela Effect 😆
Milon like mylon sheathes in the brain
Milton's Ambiguous Fortress

i know this video is 3 years old, but rn in april 2024, the frist 15 seconds has me hooked, imma see how this rolls out goodluck.
I had to call the Nintendo gameplay counselors on this game, back in the day. its a hard ass game to figure out
I never figured it out, made it up two the third floor and gave up.
I should beat it after all these years.
Aw dude aw dood
Your killing it lately, Mike! Merry Xmas happy new year.

The sprite animation of the main character in the game is great.
He's not a Sprite... He is an Elf!
