Great episode as always, I often see comments on newer Nerd videos saying "this reminds me of classic AVGN", but to me, you've never lost your touch, especially of late. Always enjoy more AVGN

Half of these games remind me of MS-DOS ones that you would find on a compilation CD-ROM you'd get with your new computer back in the day.
Growing up I always wanted a Sega Megadrive or Super Nintendo like my friends and cousins had at their homes. But one day my father came home with this monstrosity. Yes, my early gaming childhood was to Oscar instead of Mario or Sonic and I've never found anyone else who can relate to me on this.

Wow, didn't think you could top "You and your friends are dead" as a game over screen but the kangaroo skeleton was pretty amazing.

The actual reason that you have to choose between sound effects and music is due to original Amiga limitations. There’s only 4 channels of sound and all of them are used for music thus leaving no room for sound effects.
The original Amiga could handle both on many other games though, despite some elements in the music getting partially muted every once in a while.

I wouldn't count him as a RUclipsr though. He started out between his own website (Cinemassacre) and Gametrailers/ScrewAttack. He's never relied solely on RUclips. He's been pretty consistent with quality though, it's impressive I'm still watching after over a decade.

It's funny how little design decisions can be so stupidly frustrating. Power on the back, controller input on the side... controller cable on the bottom of controller. Had these people literally never seen a console before? It's not like it was released in 1987... by 93 all that shit had been figured out.
All it required was copying past gen systems
Maybe they where trying really hard to be different. It would explain why you jump with "up" in platformers and with the jump button in fighting games.

From what I remember there were two different expansion modules you could buy to add a standard Amiga keyboard, mouse and floppy drive (unsure about hard drive)
It was basically a stock A1200 repackaged as a console (and we all know how well consoles that are repackaged from computers do)
@@joshuascholar3220 Yes, there was also a 68030 accelerator with extra RAM and hard drive. There were also a few GOOD games available, problem was development stopped when Commodore went under.

Ah, the Commodore 64 Games System. That was a huge mistake.
I love the fact that all the unsold units were disassembled, put in "breadbin" cases and resold (with C64GS' game cartridge and hideous Cheetah Annihilator joystick) as Commodore 64G in Europe.
Hmm, it's weird too. x32. CD tray. Colored buttons. This thing is every bit of the Nintendo-Sony Playstation collab prototype, xept way earlier. Only thing it was missing was its true purpose, good games, the thing that launched the ps1 and Ps2 into space compared to Nintendo and Xbox.

I grew up on these videos even from screw attack days and every single episode you never fail to impress. The quality of your videos has been the finest of all video game RUclipsrs even to this day. 12:05 One thing I wanna correct James on here is that the music here in Gloom while it has a jumpy theme, it drones down to a creepy tone. So even if Naughty Ones and Gloom swapped, they'd still have some creepy music. For Naughty Ones, they should've just used something more fitting for the intro theme.
