First time seeing GFOS was at the Apollo Theater circa 1971. He was ending the show with Hot Pants. When he sang the lyric "the girl up there with the hot pants on", he pointed right to my girl (she was wearing hot pants).😎
James was probably sitting there in the studio thinking out loud: " I know this is goin' to be funky, but I've got to make it "8hr.-busting concrete, underarm" type funky!!"😎😎😎
Can you imagine what it would have been like to have been sittin in the King Studio when this was recorded live back then? What a historic jam! Changed music forever.
