Jordan Peele definitely has a way of taking specific music for his movies and transforming them.
!!!
I wonder if the aliens are using their “finger tips” to get a feel for us
This Nope trailer brought me here
How do these film industries come up with songs for their trailers?
This is also a nice addition considering the fact that the 60's was a trending topic for Aliens.
This came out when I was 17. I played it thousands of times, and still love it now that I am 76 years old!! 2020
Wow-to have been 17 in 1963; what a time! Thank you for your comment, and as a 20-something, I am certainly glad you are still with us. Have a good day!
Thanks alot! Very kind.@@BlindFocus1
I was 15 and it was the first 45 I ever bought. I’m 73 now, still loving Stevie Wonder.
@@nancybarry5262 Thank you so much for sharing! ❤️ Please be safe and blessed.
First record I bought was "Why Do Fools Fall in Love" By Frankie Lymon and the Teenagers.@@nancybarry5262
This is from 1963. Stevie was 13 and this song made him the youngest person to top the charts at the time. The rest is legendary.
It’s literally says on the album cover “12 year old genius”
@@calvinsimpson3237 calm down calvin
The only one to come after him younger and to become as listen to was Michael Jackson
This song set him apart from all other young artists at that time!! MJ was another one who did it too
He was 13 when he did this song, great song🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🎼🎼🎼🎼🎼🎼🎼🎤🎤🎤🎤still like this song 3/30/24
A masterpiece with Marvin Gaye on drums.
clarkewi and James Jamerson on bass!
Marvin Gaye was on drums??!! Wow!
What?
@@fmbighair Marvin was multi talented. A giant.
Go Marvin and Stevie
Well, he did it again. Jordan Peele made a non-creepy song sound absolutely creepy. I don’t know how he does it.
@Supply And Demand lmao trailer scared the fucc outta me
He just does

I love that Jordan Peele is using great music in his movies. Taking a page from John waters, Martin Scorsese, & Quentin Tarantino!
THIS IS HOW THEY DID IT IN THE MIGHTY 60's FOLKS....................END OF LESSON..........CLASS DISMISSED......
the MIGHTY SIXTIES! LOVE IT!

eyescandeceive You're interesting
Sounds awesome wish I was there...
But I nebber got m' dee-plomma. But had me a damn good time. Jus' Sayin'...
He had soul from the beginning.
You can hear it pouring out of him. That thing where the world disappears, you disappear and the music takes you wherever it takes you.
I was 15 when Fingertips was released and every station in Cleveland was playing Fingertips Part II constantly. With the brass section going crazy and Little Stevie's singing and harmonica, it caused the closest thing to musical hysteria until the Beatles made their way into the public eye. I remember buying the 45 and wearing that sucker out.
+tjbdallas2 Marvin Gaye Preceded Him,and Mary Wells was to Follow Him! Truly a Magical Night!
Do we know each other? Summers at Chippewa Lake...
So, i was born same year as you and experienced the same thing listening to this. My mom loved it too and I still remember watching her iron clothes and having the volume on the record player turned up way high.
I was 2months old 1962. Its beautiful that his music comes to life throughout the ages of time as many other Artists as Little Richard, Hendricks, Redding, so many. Steveland visited my husbands band frequently at their house in Harlem in the basement he'd met up with our family band, who was with a label called ascap. Stevies awesome
❤❤❤❤👏👏👏❤❤❤❤👏👏
He wouldn't leave the stage. The announcer is trying to end it and the band stops. Stevie keeps playing and the band kicks and they keep rocking it. AWESOME PERFORMANCE!
The 169 people that gave this a 👎🏾 down don’t appreciate good music!!!! This is a masterpiece!!! 2021 and still listen!!! ❤️❤️
169 13-year-old geniuses all jelly.
Definitely agree with you
They are ALL ASSHOLES 😊
@@bobbiewallace4008 Man this is some jammin music! Love it. Forget about the thumbs down people! I'd hate to know what they think is happenin!
Just goes to show they've been indoctrinated by Yackayacks!
Jordan Peele keeps everyone on their toes with the music! A++++ I remember this being played on Cooley High, playing hookie and hanging out at the Zoo.
YES, Cooley High!!!!👍🏾
This was the hottest shit on the radio in the Summer of 63!
still is for me every morning
This song was way ahead of the times, Stevie is a pure musical genius, amazing he did this at age 12 And Marvin Gay on the drums makes it even better!!!
My father took me to that concert when I was 8. I loved it. Then he took me again when Gene Chandler recorded Rainbow “65”. I will never forget how many stars you could see for 7 dollars. I love my dad!!!!
Michelle Jones why do you think your Dad chose THIS concert to go to, was he a big Little Stevie fan, or what?
Mick Funny Well , Mick I will try to make a long story short. My first mom died at the dinner table saying grace. Take into consideration we lived in Chicago at the time. My father only had so much bereavement time( he worked at The Federal Reserve Deparment) in the Loop. He called his first wife, and she and some of her sisters came up from Indianapolis IN to help out with my care. My dad and his first wife remarried. Both of them had siblings in Indianapolis and The Dan Ryan had bought our house in Chicago so we moved to Indianapolis. My second mom started showing signs of Alzheimer’s when I was 8. My father stayed with The Federal Reserve Deparment so he came home on Fridays and left on Sundays. On his vacations he would take me back with him and that’s how I was able to see the shows. I think he wanted to cheer me up but sadly I lost him on at the age of 16 on a nFriday when normally he would have been home that night. ❤️. Thank you so very much for asking . They were super parents who loved me so very much.
@@michellejones2416 So sorry for your losses at such a young age.
Michelle Jones Were you one of those girls screaming in Gene Chandler Rainbow 65? I saw him at the Cow Palace in San Francisco that year. I got his autograph by reaching my paper to him over a limousine in the parking lot.
JD Ellis I was just amazed and shy, so probably not. I had never been to the Regal before.
The amusing part is that they couldn't put the location on the record because it was illegal to have a kid Stevie's age out that late at night.
Yeah but they kinda looked the other way back then. Man, when I think back to all them gin joints, strip joints, and joints of ill repute we'd play 'til the wee hours. Man we were only like 15 - 16. Had an ol' fiddy-2 black caddy hearse to haul our shit. Paid one and a qt for it, if I recollect. 'Course that was some serious coin back then. worked all of one summer saving that up. But man when I think back to them days……......………..damn sure had us a time.
Stevie was blind, what trouble could he have possibly caused? Lol
I can’t believe he was only 13 making this 🤯🔥🔥🔥
@@tattypoo 12, 13 when it was released.
Really? I never knew that. That's why I love reading the comments on the RUclips music. I always learn a piece of history on these old songs.
The end of this song, with Little Stevie screaming melodically, is so freaking awesome. Goosebumps
Stevie is so great at so many things what often gets lost is that he’s one of the greatest chromatic harmonica players ever.
Bob Dylan and Neil Young had nothing on him.
Agree! The only guy who was in Stevie’s league was Toots Thielemans.
I loved it when he slipped in a little 'Mary Had A Little Lamb'!
I know.. it's cool , isn't it ? :O
Stevie is very much @ prodigy, & should be viewed @s such.

I love him ! He's really a gift too this world !!! Tears too my eyes !

Do you know vuxvux
I agree because its true, Stevie doesn't get the recognition due to him EXTREMELY musical talented in all areas pick any instrument that Stevie never played before let him get a feel of it and some time knowing my little Brother overnight Stevie not only playing the instrument in the studio ready to record a song which he plays the instrument, NOW dig THIS Stevie sings the song in Russian in just 1 night yes Stevie is Wonderful and just keep getting better
Its "to"
Yes I need him to him his flowers while he’s hear
Whom ever gave it a thumbs down ain't listen to it.
So, this is where Jordan Peele got the song from for his new movie, "Nope". From "I Got 5 On It" for "Us" to this for "Nope", he's got good taste in music for his movies. Reminds me of James Gunn with "Guardians of the Galaxy" and Nora Ephron with Signed Sealed Delivered for her movie "You've Got Mail".
this song went to #1 on the pop charts in 1963!!!
Daniel Burns Donald Trump loved this song
Stayed there for 15 weeks!!

Love the Cooley High reference. Liked that movie a lot.

Happy birthday, Stevie Wonder! I remember my parents playing this jam when I was a little girl! What a masterpiece! Stevie Wonder is a genius. A songwriter, musician, musical director, and an inspiration to us all! ❤❤
I love Steve Wonder, one of the best song writers, musicians, and artists of all times!! All the best artist sample him!! GOAT
I love how the audience and the kids are part of the whole thing.

'What's a bad miracle? They got a word for that?'
I think you mean NOPE
Jordan Peele new movie Nope trailer bought me here. Nice song.
Just saw the movie "Cooley High" for the "umpteenth time" and love hearing this song in the movie every time!!!!!
Roz...thanks for reminding me of the name of that film. I taped it on VHS but recently tossed all my VHS tapes. Lincoln Park Zoo in Chicago is in that film. Did you know that SNL's Garrett Morris is in the film? Morris is the guy who wistfully asked SNL viewers to send their fondue pots to Namibia. So charming. Then in 1990, praise God, Namibia finally achieved independence during the global independence for various countries. I was thrilled but only knew of Namibia at that time because of Garrett Morris, bless his heart! I remember too that Little Stevie Wonder was an explosion in the music world, hitting #1 in the Chicago area almost immediately. Ah, those transistor radios!
That little boy could play that harmonica !!! Love you forever Stevie !!!!!
“Nope” trailer is giving this
song a resurgence!
😂NO resurgence needed It never left, and Stevie is a GENIUS!
love this song it's a classic
"What key Stevie, what key?" Stevie was supposed to leave after part 1, but the crowd called him back, but the next band was setting-up, and the bass player needed that info.
chormatic harmonica Key of C and you can try simple ten hole first
tubataha dave The world back then was not bigger than C or G. Still can't play cromatic, but we have Toots. ( He's the best)
Unfortunately, he had to retire last year because of 6ealth issues. First became aware of Toots in the 60s, playing with Quincy Jones.
yes, it was actually Mary Wells' band that had set up
I attended this live show in 1962 at the Regal Theater in the Bronzeville neighborhood on the Southside of Chicago with my mother, I were almost 5 years old back then. My mom use to take me to a lot of the shows in the Regal Theater when I were a little girl. 😊💞
Wow. Thank you so much for sharing your recollection. I'll bet it was a great time. God's blessings to you; stay safe.
Lord how mercy! This is before my time but it brings to tears. Got it going on Stevie.
Always been my fave Stevie Wonder song... Still have my 45!
Wish I still had mine!
I bought the 45 and gave it to my sister for her birthday...I was 8yrs old and she was 15. I think it cost 49 cents. 👐✌👏👏👏
My parents still have that 45 single.
So do I
My brother was right...Pharrell was wholly inspired to create his song Happy after hearing this masterpiece.
um, Prince wrote Happy
It's a different song
yes I know your comment was from three years ago but I'm saying it anyway
Prince didn’t write happy are you mad 😂 Pharaoh wrote frontin about Prince
I was about 6 yrs old when this was released living in Texas when this was released. I remember seeing him perform this on Television. As a youngster, I remember the behavior of teens who experienced elation and smiles because of Stevie Wonder. Great time I remember in the Brazoria County.
Mr. Chandler, thank you for sharing that memory! Also, it's nice to read memories of those from the Upper Texas Coast/Southeast Texas as they relate to this music. Greetings from Galveston County. ;)
BAD!!!!! it opened a whole new thing from Motown and for MUSIC in general, Stevie was 12 and so was I, Loved it from the first time I heard it on NY radio, still got the 45
By the way my name is Stephen and I was called Stevie too when a kid in the Bronx
“NOPE” brought me here and I’m glad it did!
Thank you, Jordan Peele.
I love this. it makes me feel good!
I was only 14 when this came out, I'm 74 now!
We're doing a performance at an assisted living this month featuring all Motown songs through the years. I don't have this song in my collection, but I'm thinking of adding it to the warm up time, simply because it was Stevie's first public performance song. I don't, for the life of me, understand how anyone could give negative feedback on this young man's song, much less his performance. He is fabulous!
It sounds as good as it did when I first heard it on the radio in 1963!
The Great Stevie Wonder!!!!!
I think that the best harmonica performances by Stevie Wonder were the two solos he played on the song, 'Isn't She Lovely;' that he wrote to honor the birth of his daughter, Aisha. It's a great song that includes 2 great solos that he plays on his chromatic harp - especially when he hits those very sweet high notes. He truly is a most gifted and great singer/songwriter and musician. Thanx, Stevie!
Also Stay Gold, and Wirh Every Beat of My Heart off the Characters album, I think my favorite is Beat of My Heart.
Jordan Peel is A Musical Genius. How does he match these classic music with these movie trailer ????
I was a young teen when I first heard this in '63. That is when I discovered my soul and spirit (besides classical violin) lies in Motown. Thanks...I listen to it now and it's still fresh!!!!
Anybody ready for NOPE?
timeless; as good as it gets. no matter 1963 or 2013. Amazing from anyone but a 12 year old???? WOW
Just put on Cooley High because that's one of my favorite movies and heard this song. So I jumped to youtube because I wasn't born yet, to hear who sings it. To my surprise it's Stevie Wonder who I love!!! I guess Stevie was always amazing!
My cousin were sitting on Brownsville Rd. In Pittsburgh Pa in a 63 gold Chevy, we could not believed our ears! We loved Stevie. Awm
