      Yr slow...there was a whole James Brown Era in hip hop...they stole his whole catalog & the JB's

    • @Wally-H
      @Wally-H 26 дней назад

      @@301cameosis That era was from the mid 1980's when this track was released on an E.P. along with the previously unreleased cut 'She's the One' and the long version of the original Funky Drummer. I have a copy of this very record. By that time, hip hop was already an established genre, having been created by Kool Herc and others in the 70's. By the time sampling really took off (when samplers finally became affordable), hip hop using cutting between decks and electronic drum machines like the Roland 606 and 808 had been around for a few years - DJ's in those early days, weren't paying a lot of attention to Brown's back catalogue. You said in your original post that "there is no hip hop without James." This is plainly factually incorrect and yet, just because I dared to challenge your opinion on it, you now claim I am 'slow.' Let me give you a couple more facts, as I prefer to deal in those - I am 57 years old, I have been listening to and buying, hip hop since 1984. I like to think I know what I am talking about. Second fact, I went to Cambridge University in the UK. If that makes me slow, you must be a genius on the level of a Stephen Hawking, or Albert Einstein. Well it's that or you are just a sad, ignorant man who likes to insult anyone on RUclips who dares to disagree with your point of view.

    • @Wally-H
      @Wally-H 26 дней назад

      @@301cameosis I mentioned the degree because you called me 'slow.' It's okay to disagree with someone's opinion, but to suggest they are stupid just because they don't agree with you is ridiculous. I don't care what you think your credentials are as a DJ either, the facts of the history of hip hop are well documented, presumably you know them therefore you realise hip hop does not exist because of James Brown.

A lot of people don't know this but oughta know: rock and roll would not exist in its current form without the massive influence of funk, R&B, blues and wider African-American music. You can tell JB and his band found the "get down groove" at the 3:00 mark when JB starts ad libbing (like wants to freestyle rap) and the band start feeling themselves. That's just magic
