@@manti1923 I see so many people complaining about device's cpu, but if device is running all streaming services in 4k without breaks and doing everything what is expected, why do we need more cpu ? 🙄
Coming from someone who has CCwGTV, onn 4k Pro and Shield. The Google TV Streamer has the best interface experience. I haven't had any lag on it as I've had with every other device mentioned. I was going to get the AppleTV but this has actually been very impressive.

The CPU was a miss but Android 14 is so optimised the performance has stepped on massively, also for someone fully into Google Home the integration is really nice & also HDMI 2.1 is a big win as it works flawlessly with my LG OLED QMS for seamless VRR.
Bro.... Why didn't you review Onn 4k pro? Or did I miss it. Please do... I so much will like to hear your opinion and comparison between Inn pro 4k and this new Google streamer
I also just went through his videos to see if he had reviewed it. Crazy because its easily one of the most popular boxes right now, would love to see benchmarks for it.
Thanks Chigz just wanting to know if this can be used with a pc monitor with built in speakers and be able to control volume with the google remote control.
It's definitely a major improvement over the Chromecast but if it had a bit more computing power and more local storage it could have been the first serious competitor to the Apple TV 4K box.
Question that I've always had - Having an old 4k Samsung smart TV from 2017, still connects to the Internet & loads Netflix with no issue. Purchasing media streamers such as this Google Streamer, will it improve the picture quality due to Dolby vision etc.. and being newer?
Thanks! Does it have any upscaling like the nvidia shield? A lot of sports is in 720p or 1080p so would be interesting what it can do for them! Shield only does 30fps I think but sports should be at 60fps. So wondered if this had anything new! Thanks!
I share a summer house with another family. Can we have two different profiles and each profile have their own (different) streaming services accounts? For example, my family our own Netflix account under our profile and the other family their own Netflix account under their profile? That way we won’t have to login and log out of every service anytime one of the two families uses it.
I've got the previous Chromecast models, as they're great to bring along on holidays as there are so many hotels, or bungalows/apartments that don't have televisions with a built in Chromecast or even have the television "locked" so it isn't possible to access the smart menu to cast from a phone, and I liked the simplicity of the dongles... This streaming box is too big/clumsy that I'll buy it for bringing along for holidays.
I prefer Walmart's Onn Android TV boxes or sticks (Google Certified). They might not perform as good in the bench mark test but they are the best bang for your buck. Onn Google TV 4K Pro Streaming Box ($50 USD), Onn Google TV 4K Streaming Box ($20 USD), & Onn Google TV Full HD Stick ($15 USD)
As always, proper certified ATV\GTV devices have weak hardware... The CPU in this is the same as an older amazon firestick (forgot the year, I think it's the 2021 model), it's only about 30% better than the garbage CPU on the CCWGTV while being really overpriced. 🤦🤦🤦🤦 Why can't we have a proper certified ATV\GTV with good hardware? Like the apple tv 4k 2022 has? I want a truly smooth, fast, responsive experience and with fast app switching in my ATV or GTV device.
Because the most people only care about the one single thing - "Does it play Netflix, RUclips, other services or not? And if these kinds of SoCs are pretty capable of this task, why it should be more powerful?" And the higher cost of a more powerful chip.
No its not the same as the 1st gen Firestick MAX that device was clocked at 1.8 The new GTV Streamer is the the same as the 2nd gen Firestick MAX clocked at 2.0. I really wish people would stop comparing it with the 1st gen.
@@deliternity The problem is that the certified ATV\GTV devices are overpriced, I mean, compare the garbage that is this Google streamer with an Apple TV? They are almost the same price, but the Apple TV is far superior and gives you a much better experience outside sideloading apps and more system freedom. Now compare the NVIDIA shield? It's the same price or even more than the Apple TV, but the NVIDIA shield is old as fuck and outdated (no AV1 support as an example). My CCWGTV is annoying as hell with stutters while navigating apps and system! Sometimes I do one command, but it does not respond right away, so I do it again thinking that I did not press the button properly but 1 sec later it does two commands because it's a garbage slow device, and It's also annoying when I am watching Netflix, then I got watch RUclips for a moment and after sometime when I go back to Netflix the Netflix apps needs to load from start which wastes so much time. I am not saying that they should only release a really powerful device, I am saying is that the market for ATV/GTV devices is garbage with only underpowered, overpriced and \or old devices like the NVIDIA shield. Why can't we have just one proper high-end ATV\GTV device which ill work smoothly and will keep apps in ram so you can fast switch, just like we have low end and high android phones? Why every certified ATV\GTV device must be garbage hardware wise? Because non-certified wise, we have devices with proper hardware with CPUS like the rockship 3588 + 8GB of DDR4 and lots of storage.
I was disappointed to learn that Google chose to integrate the WiFi 5 technology that greatly hampers performance. While the competing Amazon cube has Wifi 6E. Now I'm a big Google fan, but this was a deal breaker for me. Choosing to integrate Wifi 5 functionality was a head scratcher for me...I just didn't understand this choice.
Old 4 year processor no Hdmi cable for this price and low ram This could have been a good streamer kept my old cromecast 4K I purchased Apple TV 4K instead 😊
That's a good question. The answer is on board TV operating systems usually leave a lot to be desired compared to dedicated streamers - they are slow, poorly executed, rarely updated, and as a result do not age well. My last Samsung TV was unable to run the latest Disney+ app after 4 years. Lastly, if you are running a full home theater system, you do not want your TV as a source via HDMIArc. Never mind that unreliable connection, many TVs do not support all the audio codecs like DTS, for example. Your question is basically like asking what's the purpose of a computer when when you already own a cell phone that does most of the same functions. I think you know the answer.
Basically its a "quality of life" improvement. Because the in built apps are usually unoptimised and bloated (as there is a lot of cost cutting there). Hence after a while the TV apps starts getting laggy. A streaming box doesn't have this issue (until the streaming box itself doesn't get old and unsupported)
I have fire tv stick 4k max...but frezee to play movie in 2160p 60fps..i wanted to buy this new google tv box if support 2160p quality and smooth 60fps🥹
Too expensive for what it is. Other streaming players can do this for less and at this price it's still less powerful than the Nvidia shield Tv. If this was $69 maybe
