This is by far the best crochet and beginner-friendly video ever. Thank you so much for making this video. I appreciate all the detailed voiceover and showing of the loops and directions as you went.
This is wonderful! Thanks for sharing! I've crocheted granny squares for many years, but this is my first time making this type of flower pattern. Your step-by-step instructions are really well done. Also, your version of the magic circle is nifty!
I really enjoyed this tutorial. I've been challenging myself lately, and I decided to try this square. It was fast paced, but that's what "pause" and "rewind" are for. I was familiar with all the terms and it really boosted my confidence when I finished the square and it looked the way it was supposed to! Thank you!
Glad it was helpful! Yes that is what pause is for!! There is also a way to slow down the play back speed but then the sound also gets slowed down as well.
I love all of your instructional uploads. And my grown son is learning to crochet too and he finds your instructions so easy to follow and the projects very nice. Thank you.
Just finished making one and it's so beautiful! Planning on making a crocheted bag using this pattern for a gift for Christmas! Thank you so much for sharing this pattern.

Even though there were a few accidents where you said slip stitch instead of sc it was fine because you go at a nice pace that allows me to see what you did instead.
Sorry about that. I do get tongue tied sometimes. I try to watch the video to check for that before uploading but with little kids I can get distracted.
Thank you for a lovely pattern. I am not sure if anyone else has commented, however at 13:44 you have on the screen for Row 4 (DC, TR, CH2, DC, TR), when it should be (DC, TR, CH2, TR, DC).
Thank you so much for your clear explanation! Love the pattern sooo much❤️❤️ Ps. Yes i think this is not suitable for really beginner. But your tutorial is so clear. Thanks

You can use this granny square for any personal project or for a project that is a gift. You just can't use the design to make your own design and sell the pattern, if that makes sense.
Subscribed!! This was a fantastic tutorial. This is the first video of yours that I watched and now I’m excited for more. Thank you for making it so easy and to the point 🙂
There are 2 (DC2TOG) in each repeat. so 8 repeats times 2 (DC2TOG) = 16. So basically you are work a (DC2TOG) into every stitch but you are alternating between 2 chain and 1 chain between the (DC2TOG).
I really love this patten, and my granny squares are coming out great. Just have a bit of a problem on the border round. After you do the corner you do 2 double crochet, one into to treble and one in the next space. Is that the same going around? Or do you do the opposite. So before the corner do you insert through the space and then into the treble?
There is 16 DC worked on each side. Not including the corner spaces, you have 1 into the Treble, 1 into the DC, 4 into the CH 4 space, 4 into the next CH 4 space, 1 into the DC and 1 into the Treble. (This equals 12 stitches the 4 missing stitches are into the corners).
I made a fair flower but i lost stitches somehow and the green part was real wonky. I must try again. 🤭🤭 Thank you for the tutorial. I think i am to much a beginner. Sometimes i succeed and sometimes 😅 not so much 😂
I very much agree! It is just some people don't know how to do a standing double crochet so I used the CH2 in the video for them. I definitely think the standing DC is better.
I love this pattern and currently using it in my project. But I have a question, maybe someone also noticed it before but shouldn't the written description for Row 4 say: [(DC, TR, CH2, TR, DC)] as the corner is supposed to be symmetrical, isn't it?
Cool pattern, I'm excited to try it. Question: at 06:18, was that an actual slip stitch or was it a single crochet? Which one should it be? Thanks! Looking forward to checking out your other videos too.
Hi Jeanhere love this square and your instructions i want to do your square but much bigger do you perhaps have another pattern that is approximately 75cm square. I know you must be busy but would love to hear from you. Thanks regards jean
The best I can recommend is to add a few extra rows to make it large. I will be working on a smaller version soon but I do not have a bigger one. You can also go up a hook size and see how much that changes the size.
@@WindingRoadCrochetthank you, i had seen the correction from previous comment. Ty for the beautiful motif tutorial! I am making them for a lined bag, gorgeous!!
I didn't make a finished project with this, but since the outside color is all the same you could use a whip stitch to join them or a invisible stitch or I like work a flat slip stitch when joining the piece together.
I love this pattern, thanks so much!! Do you think you could give me the brand of hooks that you use? I was completely captivated by your hook the whole video!
It depends on the size of your granny square. I designed the square so that you can make it with a few different hook sizes that results in a differently sized square.
I use a size H 5 mm hook. This is just the pattern for the square and not a finished project so you could use any hook that gives you the desired size square.

at the 6:16 time stamp, you say to slip stitch to the chain one space? is that the only one that different or is that just a single crochet too?

The 16 DC didn’t work for me to get 8, in the second row. Even not considering the chains in the beginning like a stitch.
There are 2 (DC2TOG) in each repeat. so 8 repeats times 2 (DC2TOG) = 16. So basically you are work a (DC2TOG) into every stitch but you are alternating between 2 chain and 1 chain between the (DC2TOG).

Hi! I am trying to make a bunch of these for a blanket! How big would you say the square is
I think my square was 7-8 inches but it really depends on the yarn and hook you are using.
I’m going to start this tonight I bought Caron yarn hope it comes out okay..
The size may vary slightly but it should still work fine.
I made a fair flower but i lost stitches somehow and the green part was real wonky. I must try again. 🤭🤭 Thank you for the tutorial. I think i am to much a beginner. Sometimes i succeed and sometimes 😅 not so much 😂

Does the chain 2 in the magic circle count as a DC ?
Not for this pattern.
@@WindingRoadCrochet thank you for the clarification .. and thank you for the lovely pattern .. it’s beautiful 😍
thanks for the tutorial
Happy to help
Love this square please can you tell me what yarn you used it looks so soft and squidgy
I used red heart super saver. If you are looking for soft and squishy, I like the Red heart With Love.
I made this square but I started each round with a standing dc instead of two chains.: much neater and easier to close the round.
I very much agree! It is just some people don't know how to do a standing double crochet so I used the CH2 in the video for them. I definitely think the standing DC is better.
How big does this measure when done? I’m looking for something close to 7in
With my tension and an 5.5mm (i ) hook they square WAS 5.5 inches squared.
I love this pattern and currently using it in my project. But I have a question, maybe someone also noticed it before but shouldn't the written description for Row 4 say: [(DC, TR, CH2, TR, DC)] as the corner is supposed to be symmetrical, isn't it?
You are correct. It has been mentioned before. I think I say the instructions correctly but they are written wrong.
Beautiful ! Thank you.
My pleasure!
I Loved that

Can u make a steering wheel cover with this granny square???
I would think it would be too big. Maybe if you used a smaller yarn and smaller hook.

At 9:22 you are saying (DC, TR, CH2, TR, DC) but it says differently in the screen. The TR and DC are mixed up
Yes thank you, sadly once the video is published I can’t fix it without taking the video down.
Good day to everyone! I just wanted to ask if there is any way to make this bigger? Thank you!
You could use a thicker yarn, or a larger hook. You could also add more solid rows to the existing square.
I've adapted this. I've done away with all the stitches that aren't counted and crocheted into the last petal at the bottom to join it
Nice!
Can I do with a 4 mm crochet hook
You can use any size hook you like and any yarn you would like. The finished size will just vary.
It’s beautiful! Thank you!
Glad you like it!
Very pretty
Thank you! 😊
I just wanted to clarify the green corner squares are 2 DC, 2 TC , c2, 2 DC, 2 TC ..is that right
I believe there is a typo on the one screen instructions.
It should be 2 DC, 2 TC, CH2, 2 TC, 2 DC

Here is the video tutorial for it. ruclips.net/video/fwBhdiwpEQA/видео.html
is it a slip knot or a dc on the petal she says both?????
I would like to help but I need to know what row you are talking about.
Wonderful job! How could I make it into a smaller square? I'm a beginner.
Easiest way would be to use a smaller hook or smaller yarn.
may i ask how thick were the yarns are?
The yarn I used was a catergory 4 worsted weight yarn.
How did you join them?
I didn't make a finished project with this, but since the outside color is all the same you could use a whip stitch to join them or a invisible stitch or I like work a flat slip stitch when joining the piece together.

It is a Furls Streamline Hook. I love the wood hooks but sense my dogs love them too I tend to buy the Furls Odyssey hooks now.
Hi I just wanted to ask how many double crochet was made in the first part, is the 2 chain also considered as a double crochet?
Also where did you connect 5he slip stich in the first part, was it at the chain 2 or the first double crochet
There is 16 Dc in the first row. My CH2 does not count as a stitch.
To the first Double crochet.
