@@dipi4603 Thank you for responding. However, maybe I didn't pose my question clearly. What was the pattern you used to crochet the backing of the pillow. There is no written instructions on how to even crochet it. Do you have a pattern for the back panel(s) of the pillow?

Okay. So you did another granny square, but continued the edging by way of continuous granny square, until you reach the same size as the front panel?

I found that using 2 treble groups in corners and 3 group of doubles in between my flower puckered so I experimented and ended up with groups in corners of 3 trebles 2 chains and 3 trebles and 4 double groups in between, the flower laid flat. This is easy to make, I am doing it right now. Melanie is excellent (RIP), but pay attention to the video and also read the written instructions because sometimes she says chain 2 or chain 1 and really it's a chain 3. Also, notice the sunflowers in this video, she is alternating the yellow center colors...you have to look close to notice, but it's there and it's beautiful and subtle and I am glad that I noticed because I like it better. Melanie is so talented she is my go-to-designer on RUclips and I am quite picky. Thanks for everything Melanie! I am so sorry that you suffered and left RUclips, I really miss you. I learned so many extra tips and tricks from you. Good wishes and Good fortune to your husband and your children. My condolences to all.

I like the square, I always thought granny squares were what you used to teach a beginner. That is how gran taught me.

I am a 77 yrs old Australian great grandmother. I'm a new chum at doing these squares.
I'm an experienced knitter and embroiderer so it's fun to be learning a new skill. Lots of rewinds and unpulling but getting there. 🤗
