I cannot be more pleased with this tutorial. I was looking for floral hexagon granny squares for a table runner I am making, no extra talk or lingo, this is my kind of video!!!
Hello Roz love 💘 the sunflower hexagon & half granny hexagon are lovely . I could see the half as a pocket on a bag or something. You always come out swinging. Have a blessed day and give the boys a hug.
“Join as you go”is a great way but that would mean redoing a lot of them or adding an extra round. I have a lot of joining videos. Here’s a playlist : ruclips.net/p/PLnn12fDX5S3Nhm8bNbTH1_ZPQup2-kbwD&si=L2Pi_5Nq1cpb6wGg
4 ply is usually a weight 1/fingering weight or sock yarn. Typically a hook anywhere from 2.5- 3.5 mm works well for that. Hopefully you have a yarn label to confirm this . Or if you know the yarn brand , you can find the details online 💕
Each square with this yarn measured 4x4 inches. For 1 square I used : Thistle 1 gram Honey 3 grams Ivory 4 grams I haven’t made a blanket but based on a 4x5 foot blanket (48 x 60 inches) you’d need about 180 squares. Thistle 180g (2 skeins) Honey 540g (6 skeins) Ivory 720g (8 skeins) Hope that helps
Awesome - oh I didn’t think about a half square! You should be able to use the half hexagon pattern . when you reach round 4 , do a ch 3 in the first space (this will replace the first side cluster ) , then follow along doing the same sequence you did for for the square . Then end with a double crochet in the last space available (this will replace the second side cluster) .If you watch the half hexagon portion, it will make more sense. I’ll play with it more to confirm this then write it in the description box below the video 🌻❤️🧶
Hi, I just discovered your channel today and I can't stop watching your videos, starting from today you can consider me a big fan 😍 I just want to ask you to add Arabic translation in your videos please 😊
@@fatimahaider8172 I have a lot of videos so it will take time to go through and find all I’m those categories. Please send specific videos and I’ll add when I can. For now , I added Arabic to the color choosing and most frequently asked beginner crochet questions video 💕
Good morning. I am considering making the hexagon but using Size 10 crochet thread. My question is: how do I increase the number of rows so I don't have to make a bazillion squares, lol. I'm planning to make a mid length skirt. Thanks for your help. Be blessed 😇
Oh, sure . Just keep increasing by repeating the last round. You’ll add your corners the same and then you’ll increase your clusters on the side after each round. Right now you only have 1 cluster between the corners. The next round you’ll have 3 and so on … It will grow incrementally. It’s just like a typical granny square. 👍🏻💕
@@carolyngardner9768 That's right, you'd do the same thing with your half hexagons. There are several ways you could join them. Check out my "joining" playlist, but if you want to do a "join as you go method", I would recommend you watch this one: ruclips.net/video/loW2JxkxXnQ/видео.htmlsi=KWlHeETO8DC0Si9t
If you take a finished one and lay a piece of paper over it to see the pentagon shape you need, you can follow the way I approached the half square in a similar way to make it . 👍🏻💕
@@PlayHookywithMe thank you so much for your quick response! I figured it out. The stitches you're starting with has to be divided by five, so if you start with ten instead of twelve it's working out the same way 👍
I like what you do, but I can't do it because I don't understand your language. Greetings from Türkiye, could you please open the Turkish translation part of your videos? so that I can easily eat, thank you for what you do, love...
I can't even get past the double crochet from the magic circle. I tried slowing the playback but i can't see it clearly and it looks all wrong. I've avoided granny squares for 10 years because i can't understand them
I know this was quite a while ago but you can always chain 4 and join to the first chain as your middle! Then work your dc into the middle of the chain circle
Magic rings are not easy, don’t be discouraged! You can do a handful of single crochets, join the first to the last chair and then make your doubled into the loop. You can still pull it tight too
Happy Mother's Day 🌻💛 I hope you enjoy this sunflower granny square and hexagon just in time for summer xx

If I’m adding another round to the square, do I keep triple crochets for the corner or switch to doubles?
If it were me, I’d switch back to double crochets but I’d recommend you try both and see what look you like best.
I tried both today! Double works better for the second round. Tysm for sharing this pattern and your input! 🫶🏾
