      I did that too so I just turned it into a heart by tieing the top so it scrunches

    Thank you for this 🥰 I made a border around it with sc and in every corner I put 5 sc, it worked out great and gave the square more pointy corners 🥰 I think I am going to make them into a sweater 😍

    Firstly, tfs this tutorial its very easy and pretty.
    I had to frog back to the first triple corner right after the 2 CHS because you didn't tell us to do the 2nd 3 triple crochets into the same hole.
    The 2nd corner is when you told us about that. And I'm glad I caught it. I hope my comment can help someone else if their square turns out not so square. 😂 Crocheting is very confusing as a beginner.

      So to make a corner at the end we have to make 3 triple crochets two times in the same hole?

    I usually watch the tutorials with out working the project and the on third time in working while I watch. This works well for me.

    I used a 6 super bulky yarn and used a magic ring for the center instead of a chain, in case anyone else was having this problem

    guys if you end up w/ less than 16 petals after the bud try doing a magic circle to make the bud instead and then sl st, idk why but that worked for me instead of the chain 4 sl st method

    Thanks for this tutorial, had to rewatch that part for the big petals each time making the petals but turned out nice, tho I didn’t tie the knots correctly when changing colors, and stretched it too much and it pulled apart :/. Will definitely try again though, thank you!

    the first one i made was cool and now i’ve made a few and keep ending up with the wrong numbers- i get my 15 brown and then 16 puffs, but then the next one i seem to get wrong which messes up the order of the green outside :0 idk what i’m doing wrong ahah- i’ll keep trying tho! super cute.
    how do you get your chain 2 to look clean with the rest? mine seem to stick out and look like an attempted puff that i didn’t finish or something, and switching which side i crochet around them doesn’t help.

    when i do 16 puffs i end up with 17 on the second row of yellow so i just cut it down to 15 puffs... i hope thats ok?

    How big is your finished square? Is it about a 5 inch (12.7cm) square when done? Im using a 5.00mm (size H hook) just wondering if youre using a smaller hook maybe if i need to make a second round in green to achieve a 5 inch square😊

    Hey, would these be the same size as a solid granny square? I want to create a project that has these and solid granny squares and I'm not sure if it would work, I assume it would but you can never be to sure.

      If you use the same number of rows, I would imagine that you would get a similar size but it's hard to guess without actually doing it I'm afraid! I would recommend testing it out and then you can amend your solid square as needed by adding/removing rows, or adjusting your tension.

      @@elinga1442 the sl st that joins the round goes into the turning chain and not a stitch so it creates another stitch

      Are you sure you aren't doing uk sizing? double crochets are different in both Uk and Us terms

      I haven't made it yet but just got worsted weight yarn to make so apparently I'll be finding out. I don't know what size hook I'm going to try yet.
      How did yours come out. It's been seven months since you commented. So I thought you might have made it by now.

    Hi! I was wondering what I'm doing wrong, because when I followed your instructions the 'petals' kept curling upward. How do I solve that?

      Ah this can happen! I usually find that a bigger hook can help or usually the petals flatten themselves out when you complete the rest of the square :)

    Great tutorial! My granny squares tend to curl into itself, am I doing it wrong somehow or is it just because I'm left handed?

    Pretty sure I’m doing something wrong. Every time I do it, I end up needing one extra stitch at the end to finish with the last triple. So sad I can’t get it right

    what size hook are you using?

      A 3mm hook, but you can adjust the size as needed to work with whatever yarn you are using 😊

      You can increase your yarn weight and hook size for a bigger square

      The chain 2 at the beginning counts as a stitch so you have 16 double crochets in total in the ring.

      If you keep going and complete the square I find that it usually flatterns out! Otherwise your tension may be a little tight ☺️

    I’m new to crochet and I really want to make these but can is it possible to make them bigger by using thicker yarn and a bigger hook? :) thanks for the tutorial!!

      Yes absolutely! you can always increase the size by adding an extra row around the outside as well, just following the same rules for the corners :) Best of luck on your crochet journey!!

      Mine are 90cm wide, this will vary slightly based on your tension and yarn weight :)
