I have two pairs of Moonlight Rollers and I love them. I am definitely sad that she was unable to manage her business correctly. I'm not ready, however, to say she was being intentionally fraudulent. I think she just wasn't ready for the growth and the issues that come along with it. I hope she is able to recover from this experience. Our society is so quick to kick a person when they are down, especially women and people of color.
I 100% support this. My moonlights are irreplaceable to me even as i upgrade & they helped me get back on skates after bad car accident. . Ppl get a little too excited w ‘accused of fraud’ - financial issues / going outta biz aren’t generally intentional. & falling outta contract sucks but is not fraud as she will be responsible for damages. . And as per CS - Ppl are still getting skates, MLR will issues refunds if not in the mail no questions asked, its always been a wait period ime. I just ordered my Bestie her get back into skating emeralds (thought it may be my last chance if they dont survive downsized) got a great deal - took 2-3weeks & they arrived perfectly fine wo panic, tho i was excited for my surprise!
Dang, that’s so disappointing!!! I was really happy to have a black owned skate company out there doing so well. And then this. 😔 I feel sometimes small businesses need to keep things small for as long as possible so they aren’t overextended and end up where they can’t pay what is owed. It’s a delicate balance, but yo, why would you think you won’t be called out?! 😅 We are feeling a collective disappointment.
Collective disappointment is the perfect term. Idk where things went wrong, but trying to hide and not acknowledge it is definitely not the move. Especially when the people you’re hurting are the same ones who built you up. Smh, definitely can’t cover this one up.
Everyone is disappointed that what looked like a gem ended up being a turd. It's strange that no one has taken up the torch she dropped. I hate it for everyone who got burned. But in meeting that girl briefly it was plain to see she wasn't business minded.
really disappointing news! i heard about them originally right after i started skating and had been planning on getting a pair ever since. glad you made a video about it!!
Jennifer Greene may have said it best: "sometimes small businesses need to keep things small for as long as possible, so they aren't overextended.." - especially without [vertical integration?], with your own factories & labor supply at the manufacturing end, or at least the economies of scale [& resulting prioritization] that huge wholesalers & huge retailers have, covid-era & post-covid semipermanent/permanent changes to factories' production runs, supply chains, & parts availability, & modern computerized 'just-in-time' shallow stock practices, can make what look like growth opportunities into total disaster for a small company. Even pre-covid, too-fast growth was a recipe for disaster, but during the pandemic & post-covid, all the old rules for global [manufacturer; vendors; contracts; prioritization; shipping; wholesaler; stock; retailer] business are obsolete. (Sorry for the run-on sentence).
Ordered a pair a skates over a month ago and had to follow up numerous times before their customer service manager responded. I ended up disputing the charge with my bank after seeing a thread on reddit about what is going on. I got an email yesterday saying my skates should be getting back to them this week and will be shipped out. But at this point, I am sure thats a lie and will be purchasing Moxi Skates asap! So So terrible to see this company go down the drain!
Ahhh I’m sorry you experienced that. It’s anything but helpful when you can’t even get a reply within a reasonable timeframe. I hope all goes well with a refund regardless of whether they actually send the skates or not. At least you can feel confident knowing Moxi has a more reliable reputation.
Iris I have two moonlight and two moxis. Honestly my moonlight are more comfortable. And I’m so grateful for them! It’s like the shoe you’ll grab for that long walk. My moxi are cute and I love having them too. Just not my go to for the longer skate adventures. I actually waited two and a half months for mines when I ordered. I kinda knew it would be a wait though. Wish you could have held out for a pair. If there is ever another pair you find online maybe eBay etc I’d say grab them.
@@pamelawilson2553 Thanks for letting me know Pamela. Still have gotten the skates from Moonlight but they did respond shortly after I posted this comment saying they are going to be shipped out. Good to know about the Moxi skates. I am deciding between the Lolly's or the Beach Bunny to start. But yes, I wanted Moolights because they seem to be incredible skates! I may have to turn to ebay for them it seems.
@@iriscrawford9606 Did they finally ship the skates to you. I ordered two months ago and have nothing to show for it. They keep changing the amount of time it takes to ship. I don't buy it. Looks like police report coming soon!!!
This is such a shame... I wanted a pair of moon boots sooo badly, their design is like my ideal boot design (as a comfortable begginer)... Shame shame.
I just bough my bestie Emeralds in their last small drop/stock. I ordered them 3weeks till I got a tracking & then they arrived fairly quick (my SO got me the roadside kit for Xmas it arrived week late but he ordered dec 10) She hired 3 new ppl & did IG process update post - there were too many points of ‘contact us’ so they have ONE contact w website chat - type a message usually quick response >> if u close it the chat the response will forward to your email. idid a few times NOTE: they wont really answer on shiptime ETAs guessing they dont wanna disappoint (seems similar to before 1-5weeks lead) & i never had to ‘NUDGE’ them or reach out, theyll get your order but if your really concerned its lost then def rec kindly reach out GL - theyre having great sales still, tho now w fedex ship is lil more
I am so disappointed. I was so excited to get some of the skates. Black and women owned I was super excited. I'm very scared to look at some people's commentary.
It’s even more disappointing reading through people’s own experience. So many people were scammed and it’s very sad to see. Especially when so many people were excited about this company and welcomed it with open arms
@@SKTSHT I know I was so ready to buy those as my first pair. I found some second hand, but I would be absolutely crushed I went through what some people did
Well it’s not really too hard to get in the skate game just do what you say you are going to do and exercise good judgement. They already had a good and loyal following all she had to do was not mess it up🤷🏽♀️. They really sad thing is this will make it difficult for any other black owned skate companies that come after her.
No I'm pretty sure if you do good business and don't screw people over any business should do fine. Black or whoever else is looking to do it. Right now as a result of that girl there's a vacuum market in Chattanooga with no competition. Go get it
I also ordered a pair a little over a month ago and now I’m scared they’ll never come because their website is completely gone :( I’m sad I’m just seeing this now

I was nervous making the video, but I want people to be aware. There are definitely more reputable brands to support 🤙🏽

I'm so glad I didn't get their skates and instead went with the Luna skates. Almost two years later and they're still going strong.

I honestly would even promote moxi either like I would go with sure grip or someone else moxi is very racist

I wanna see you post another update ok Moonlight Rollers
Dang. I definitely wanted to upgrade to these later on. I hope she is able to revamp and do better later on!
I agree! I think she can redeem the company, but definitely has to make some significant changes to gain back the trust of a lot of people.

Interesting video considering the last video you posted, you were telling everybody to go buy a pair of these rental skates.
I love the skates. I hate that this is what happened. But I love my skates, I really do. 😢
Shoot I just ordered a pair before watching this. Do you think I’ll be able to cancel my order?
I just ordered a pair a few weeks ago and I'm really regretting it now that I have seen all this. How'd this turn out for you?
