Super helpful, have just picked up 3ds max after a 9 year break. Layers were never a thing in max when I last used it back in 2014, but I'm used to using layers coming from Cinema 4D.
Hi! A question: I imported a model into Max from SketchUp, in which a complex object (a house) has all geometry on one layer which followed along with it. I converted it into an editable poly and wish now to divide up the geometry into different layers in Max, but when I try to move an individual polygon/face onto a new layer the entire imported geometry is moved onto that new layer and not only the parts of it that I want on there. Is this possible in 3ds Max?
Dude. We know what layers are. That's why we are looking for how to use it properly. You don't describe what the mouse icon is. Please get to the point
