I played and loved FFT as a kid and still play it. I finally got into this game and it absolutely blows my mind with how good it is. nice video.
Tactics Ogre was the inspiration for Final Fantasy Tactics, both are amazing games but I think TO is more complete because of the routes and extra content!
The shamans with the summons are very useful for farming. You can kill the enemy from many positions and you just have to go back and try again from another square.
All the animation of the spells is very long, physical attack is faster so you end up getting more attempts per minute
Only thing that’s that dreadfully annoying while farming for items, you get tarot cards instead.

The best time to do that is during CODA 2 and after, have all the characters and apocrypha lv2 spells helps a lot, and get the winged boots/rings to everyone as soon as possible is your focus, so you would be able to auto battle non important fights without lose characters permanently for falling into the pit

Been following this process ever since I went to farm for the tier 2 apocryphas in the elemental ruins, and now I went back to PotD to try to go as far as possible.

the different actions from the same tile do matters tho!
double attack, 1-hand attack, spell, finisher. they all gives different results. Only the same type of that action will give same result.
For example, if you use 2 1-hand weapon on Denam to kill the enemy. 2x attack will give different drops from a weapon attack (1-hand action) drop, they are considered different type of action. If he use spell this will also give different drop from previous actions. HOWEVER, if he use spell, no matter what spell he used, it will give the same drop as the 1st spell he use it = this is the same type of action. and same case for finisher, all finisher = finisher type so it gives same result for all finisher.
All of these examples are assumed that you kill on the same tile, just change the action. I already tried all of these in Shrine drop, so i'm very certain.
What a strange thing, I tried several variations of strikes in the same position and the drop was always the same... But if you're saying then I believe you, good job!
@@WarrenReport maybe it's because the possible loots drop are very few to distinguish between the others. I noticed only because sometimes I got a tarot card while with another action I got an item instead. 😅
Also, it seems that on the same tile there is more chance for the same loot to drop. As I tested a few more, from 3 out 4 actions - double attack, finisher and spell, 3 of them yielded me the same item drop list (Tabar Zin, Brigandine) while only single attack gave me different item drop list (Tabar Zin, Baldur Helm, Bronze Oberyth).
another time, from 2 out of 4 actions - spell and finisher gave me Resistance tarot card, double attack gave me Tabar Zin, and lastly single attack gave me Avoidance tarot card. This is tested on a normal enemy in the Geyld Shrine 1st floor.
Top tier item location to farm those would be nice
I heard the no charriot no retreat titles are not available in Ogre Tactics Reborn as i read in game faqs. So is not an issue for a completionist to achieve anymore, use chariot if you must for this tedious tasks, seriously i don't know why they don't give a 100% chance to win the item you are farming for at this point. however, the no incapacitated or death party members title is still on Reborn, so consider that for complete titles achievements. you can however let guest, you need to protect, die as they are not yet formally part of your party yet.

Winged boots are easier to farm in Floor 36. The enemies are closer and have a higher drop rate percentage. I averaged 2 and a half minutes to get one per turn.

Great video! I was not sure if the type of attack would affect or if it was only position and your video saved me a lot of time. I learned to love Potd and am trying to do the same for San bronsa....no success so far
By the way winged boots are totally worth it and make your life so much easier. Reduce risk of falls, fly over rampart aura and leave the accessory slot free. I am also using a Hydra with winged ring in San bronsa to replace my poor Griffin with gets decimated but those crossbows that are super effective vs beasts

I had a question in your tutorial: is the drop rate influenced by the character who made the last hit or by the character who opened the bag? Do I have to return to the action before the final hit or when opening if the item in the bag is not what I want?
Hello! What defines an enemy's drop is the position of the character who made the final attack. It doesn't matter WHAT attack was used or WHO caught the bag.
So you must do as in the video: finish the enemy, take the bag with any character, if it is not the item you want, use the chariot to return to the character's turn that had finished, position him in another space and repeat the process.
what I been doing is what I did to recuit units like divine knights, liches, ect. trying all different possibilities, even having someone throwing rocks at someone else. if nothing works I just go back a few turns and change attacks.
I'm just starting the PotD to get some drops before I beat the game so this was an amazing help. Trying to get everything done before moving to the next route

Great vid--I haven't seen anything on this topic as in-depth as yours. Question, how painful was the process in getting all the Dark Knight weapons (which I think can only be done in CODA 4?)? Is there anyway to save your progress before taking out Lanselot with the trio fight in order to rinse and repeat different positions, or do you have the do the entire fight over to try and farm his weapon--which is what I expect and fear. Appreciate all your vids!
Hello budy, how are you?
For the DK weapons, I did the same process shown in the video: I divided my total group into 3 different fronts, and each one was responsible for a specific DK, the other DK I quickly eliminated from the scenario to make it easier. Then it was enough to join each one, defeat, take the loot and see if it was the weapon. If it wasn't, I'd go back in the chariot and defeat it in another cell and repeat. I believe there were 5 to 7 attempts in different cells for each weapon. I did this 3 times to get them all.
For Tartaros, you can do the quick save trick. Use only the wonder trio in the scenario, defeat all enemies and leave only Tartaros alive. Corner him, so that you can defeat him on the next turn. Make a quick save (exit the scenario, the game will ask if you want to make a quick save of that moment in the scenario, choose yes). Now you go to the game folder (if you're playing on PC) or in saved data on the system (if you're playing video games). Locate the quicksave file, make a copy and put it on a pen drive. Now you go back to the game, select continue, make the last move to defeat Tartaros and see if the weapon drops. If it doesn't drop, you copy the quick save that is on the pen drive again to the game directory and try again defeating it in another cell until you succeed. It took me 7 tries to get it.

Hi, I just reached the curtain call and I’m planning to farm items but heard of the rumor that the Item Adjustment (explained in the Warren report) also has impact on relics you obtain in the palace of the dead - the limit of the parameters are lowered after the CC. Do you happen to know if it actually is the case?
There is a limit for some ultra rare relics (such as Ogre Set) that allows you to have only one piece of each. With regard to normal relics, there is a limit but it is quite high (if I'm not mistaken it is 1000 relics) and from then on it automatically starts selling those you acquire.
Regarding the use of relics to power up others of the same, after it maximizes what is possible on that item, it prevents you from continuing to power up.

Important info, some items can be found outside PotD that means you can actually farm it with the characters at a much higher level and much easier, as long as you do your research well.
Flying boots, for example, can be farmed at Coritanae, Law route, outside the walls from a Knight that usually spawns at the center of the map, past the river, right in front of where you deploy your squad.
Serious? This is fantastic, I guess I didn't pay enough attention to non-POTD enemies during the campaign hehehe
But I believe that enemies in the campaign cannot be used to farm infinitely, correct? In POTD, after you drop the item you want, just retreat and return to the same floor to farm the same enemy again, indefinitely

I was hoping you could do a apocrypha 2 farm? I can’t get any of the spells😔
If I'm not mistaken, to get tier 2 you need to get all of tier 1 first.
Once that's done, you must go back to each of the sanctuaries and face the final boss again. It is he who has the chance to drop tier 2. It is one of the most difficult farms, so be patient and don't give up, you can use the technique shown here in the video that works perfectly.

No, the luck attribute in the game slightly influences the ability to critically strike and parry attacks, it does not influence the ability to drop items from enemies

I find it far faster, easier and better to use ranged weapons or spells. You end up with 10 times as many squares to use. You can also use the same square to kill the enemy if you use the Chariot to move the unit who acts BEFORE the unit doing the final attack.
according to my tests there are times when you can try 20 different spaces with the same character and he won't drop what you want, but if you try with the next character he will drop the first few tries. It may be my bad luck, but it happens.
I believe that physical attacks are faster than arrows or magic in terms of animation time, but I could be wrong.
Anyway, everyone has their own way of farming, I just wanted to show mine 😁
@@WarrenReport I 100% agree with it being faster for that one drop. I do it my way by rushing to the enemy and ignoring the others. After 500 + hours on my game file, this is what works for me the best.

What's the best method before doing the end game. Currently on chaos ch4. Should I POTD or first complete all routes, ending on law and then tackle POTD in that chapter 4 and proceed with the rest
I recommend finishing the game first and then going to POTD. Finishing the game unlocks the option to visit chapters and routes, so it makes no difference in that sense. But you can also try to beat the first floors to farm some of the good items, it's up to you. The best way to farm that I found is the one shown in the video, regardless of the scenario

So, if I understand correctly, the enemy does not need to be holding the weapon or accessory for them to drop it?
Each enemy has pre-selected items he can drop, it has nothing to do with the items he is equipped with.

It is possible if the fact of defeating the enemy leader does not end the fight automatically (second round in the sanctuaries, last battle of CODA 4)

@@thenightowl1269 After you complete the 6 sanctuaries you can go back to them for round 2. In this one, the boss on the 6th floor does not end the mission, so you can do the tactic to farm the rare items they drop

This is my 1st play through and I’m currently clearing shrines in lawful princess route. Already recruited everyone in Lawful. Once shines are done and farmed, I’ll beat Heim, raise level to 40 and clear POTD 1-100.
Then I’ll finish hanging gardens and clear CODA 1 only in lawful to save the anchor as a safe spot.
At this point, I’ll World back to get lord.
Then world back again to the neutral path and grab the other 2 sisters and a couple more characters in neutral.
World back once again to do chaos and Cressida recruitment.
Finally I’ll World back to the “safe coda 1 lawful route” anchor and finish CODA 2-4.

After finishing CODA 4, you decide if you want to try to make 100% of the items, battles and, finally, the events. If you do, your next step is to go play the other games of the Ogre Battle series!

Thanks for this video! How do you fast travel from the first floor to a few down?
There are 3 guidebook items that allow you to jump to certain floors. If you have them in your inventory it will give you a prompt asking if you want to use them. Guidebook 1 will take you to Floor 26, 2 goes to 51 and 3 is for 76. So for example, if you are trying to get to Floor 81, you will need to use all three, then fight your way from 76 on.
Once you beat Nybeth at Floor 100 on your first run, you'll get a recipe that lets you craft the books. Roderick on Floor 115 in CODA 2 also drops 3 full sets. They take shiftstones to craft though, which are rare. The best place to get them is to World back to Chapter 2 Law Path and fight the battle at Arkiopolis of Rhime. There are 2 enemies that are guaranteed to drop 3 each. IIRC, it's the Rune Fencer and Valkyrie.
After you finish floor 100 you get items that allow you to go directly to floor 25, 50 or 75

The hardest items to drop are cursed weapons.

Gorgon Head has approximately 3% drop chance, Cursed Weapons has approximately 4%. These are the lowest odds in the entire game

I never liked the drop rate so low the game forced you to Chariot and break the "No Chariot" award. The game could have had a 100% drop BUT less materials, at least.
You get this title if you finish the game with no farming... after receiving the title then you abuse!
I'm farming Ogre gear. Got the blade and helm but RNG for the armor is brutal 😢
Yeah, and dont forget the shield! (For 100% itens later).

Pro tip: Play on pc and use cheat engine to guarantee drops so you don't have to chariot spam. Trust me maxing out multiple copies of relics is _still_ a giant pain in the ass even with cheat engine removing probability.
And for those who play on PS4/PS5 and Switch?

imo if someone is willing to go that far, may as well also mod the game to give your characters insane stats. why even bother grinding when you are cheating to begin with?
@@professorpenne9962 You already have to do the scout retreat loop for the correct enemy to farm relics, make them drop their bag, check it, and you still only get what you were farming for at best 40% of the time in potd. It's _very_ time consuming. I did it for the 5% shrine spells and it was awful.
Chariot spam to influence rng is 'intended' cheating. All changing the drop rate to 100% does is save time. Stay consistent. If you're not going to take issue with chariot spam then using cheat engine for just drops shouldn't bother you. The game is hundreds of hours long you can afford to shave some time off farming relics in potd.

Just wondering if anyone doing a no chariot run with a 100% completion of the game?
It's possible, just do no chariot until you get all the titles that have to do with this achievement and then start doing 100%. It's a lot of work and you need to be a great player, but it's possible.

Currently focusing on items.. 64 items left.. Hopefully I can finish this before June.. No Incap No Death No Chariot run
@@estalodis592 I'm currently trying to do 100% of the events, but it's not being easy. There is no record on the internet of anyone being able to do this since this was implemented.
Yep that's true no record on the internet.. and it's also difficult to make a guide since progress only appears after finishing the game.. 😅
