Awesome presentation gentlemen!! 45th Illinois Volunteers Infantry Company C Washburn Lead Mine Regiment/ Company G 15th Tennessee Regiment Volunteers Infantry.
The men who fought during the Civil War were fighting for a cause they believed in, on the Southern side States Rights and on the Northern side freedom for the Slave. It was a personal war because it was a war of Americans for there was a signal army and nation but during the war there was two armies and two nations after the war once again there was one army and one nation.
Hello, ladies and gentlemen. The Confederates had better clothing than the federal North American army. Because those white, gray clothes get a little warm from the sun. And they waged the summer war. And the black and blue uniforms of the North American federal army got hotter than the sun and were more uncomfortable for war. But apparently the federal North American army was more experienced and that's why it won the war against the Confederates.
The soldiers at Camp Lee in 1861 in Richmond were instructed by Virginia Military Institute Keydets. Perhaps you have not heard of Colonel Gilham, a VMI faculty who in 1860 wrote a manual of arms, Gilhams Manual, and exclusively used the heavy infantry tactics. So, guess what they were taught to use with their smoothbore muskets.
Awesome presentation all around! I am very impressed. Rob Weber 119th NYV
Excellent demonstration, followed by a brilliant story of Picketts Charge by Pte Moss. God bless James Shelton Moss. Mick - London, England.
After that speech at the end I just had to leave a like
I always liked the crazy variety of Confederate uniforms.
Slant Six The appearance of confederate soldiers was much more uniform than most historical interpretation groups portray.

Nice, except for the heavy infantry manual. (No proof of actual use during the war)
There are accounts of the 23rd Virginia, 10th Virginia and 37th Virginia using the Heavy Infantry manual during the first 2 years.
