This fan manga actually remembers to take Yamcha as the character he'd originally been, rather than the meme he became... In this, it's closer to canon, than current canon.

it respects Yamcha, but to be honest it shouldv'e been Tien who launched himself into the fight without thinking, just like he did with Cell, and the Kikoho should have pressed Cooler and his men till Tien collapses.

@@Orain88 I doubt it. He's not as interested in finding that next big challenge as is say Goku. He doesn't even care that much about fighting. Beyond his daily workout, he doesn't prepare really, he even has a hard time getting excited for a fight, the only reason he joined this tournament is the money, and that was the correct way to write the character. Every time he even finds someone strong, he commiserates with them on how boring and lonely having such strength can be. He'd probably find Goku's enthusiasm for always finding a stronger opponent amusing, considering how well his search in that area has been going. He'd probably feel that wishing that opponent into existence would kind of defeat the purpose and ruin the fun. Trust me, if he didn't wish to wish for something as ridiculous as always knowing when the Saturday sale is on, he'd wish for some equally as ridiculous, like getting an early release copy of the newest game coming out, so he could practice it before King got a copy and try to beat him at least once to regain some honor!

Not that he would turn down a fight against any monster attacking the earth, but would he find it worth endangering the earth just to find that challenge? I personally wanted it to end with them collecting all seven Dragon Balls and Saitama wishing to have an opponent that can give him the thrill of a fight again, only to be told "That is beyond my power." But this is much more fitting to the character.

It's amazing how much attention to detail the author has and there ability to pay respect to both universes through an understanding of characters, that honestly, you just don't see in most fans.
