Superman only fights when he really needs to, unlike Goku. And Superman would never stay still if people were dying, even if it were suicidal to go save them.
Goku. on the other hand fights as much as he can and only saves the people he happens to come across, he doesn't actively go around looking for people that need help.

I kinda wonder why he already can fly and control energy beams though. Goku couldnt fly because he didnt know it was possible, Goku couldnt shoot beams because he didnt know it was possible. How can Vegeta know about flying and beams when he doesnt know its possible? Sure, being probably 100x more powerful than Goku was at the start already helps him out with all enemies, but it feels weird that he KNOWS flight etc. Goku couldnt fly untill some time during his training with Kami and Popo, even though at that time, he was probably as strong as Kid Vegeta was.
Then also Krillin somehow having aged that much and Yamcha having met Roshi even though nothing has happened to do so.
Then the Red Ribbon Army didnt even start to look for the Dragonballs untill after Pilaf had used them, which gave them a reason to believe the myth was actually real.
Nor would King Piccolo have ever been resurrected as his ricecooker prison was quite well hidden, the only way it was found was because Pilaf was heavily grasping for any means of using the Dragonballs and needed anything or anyone to be able to beat Goku. And since the dragonball myth was true, maybe the piccolo myth was also true.
I like the idea of Vegeta being send to earth rather than Goku, but I think Masako's assessment is by far more accurate. This fan one just has waaaaaaaaaaaay too many glaring plot holes. It's not even a fun read. Hell, the dragonball movie road to power was closer to the story and that movie was so uncannon that it wouldnt surprise me if kid goku would go super saiyan there.

it really is. The artwork and drawing style is almost as good as the originals, and the story is quite belieavable. Impressive stuff

And depending on his training, he'd probably straight up overpower Kakarot in the Saiyan Saga if he trains throughout the Dragonball years like it was implied if we're not using modified power levels (which it seemed like the manga tried to keep the Saiyan saga power levels consistent, but with Goku being the strong one and Vegeta being the weaker one, even though it made no sense.)

Conclusion: according to fan manga authors, literally everyone would be a better savior to Earth than Goku.
goku is not a savior of earth and has no desire to save earth, he only loves fighting, it just so happens that he saves earth by defeating his opponents
Toriyama himself has said that he was never happy with how the anime tried to portray Goku as a kind of Superman character, where in his mind, Goku was just a sort of incidental hero.
He cared about his family and friends, but it was always platonically, and never the same as what Vegeta feels towards his family (ironically).
More than anything else, Goku just wants to fight strong guys. When he spares an opponent, it comes across as mercy when it's really just a hope they get stronger and provide a better fight later.
I'm not a fan of Super at all, but supposedly the way Goku acts in that is the closest to how Toriyama envisioned him (for better or worse).
Yea but they forgot that Goku was sent with the purpose to destroy the earth so if Vegeta was sent in his place he would not go on that journey for the dragon balls he would just kill everyone and probably get beat when piccolo or kami appear. Keep in mind Vegeta is way smarter than Goku and probably wouldn't get his head bopped.

Okay... this was brilliant. This story was just... WOW. I love the changes in characters. We still get some of Goku's core, but tempered with battle lust and grit. Vegeta on the other hand is more mellow and self confident over just prideful. I'm so sad it couldn't have been finished. I really like the dynamic between this Kakarot and Vegeta and would love to see how the Frieza confrontation would fare, particularly with him expecting them. And how Radish and Kakorot would turn out XD

@@spacepenguins8939Maybe, with the greater share of battles, it's Kakarot's death that will awaken Vegeta's super saiyan.
Plus, besides hard work, Goku's always the one using ingenuity to achieve new paths to power, as shown with his super saiyan grade 3, as opposed to Vegeta. Maybe this will persist, with "Goku" finding new techniques, becoming temporarily stronger, and perfecting them alongside Vegeta.

A lot of people think Vegeta would have just taken over the planet. Eh, maybe. I'm not saying you're wrong, that HAS been the Saiyans m.o. since the beginning. If we're trying to stay 100% canon, which Dragongarow Lee didn't care to do, I still say there's a good chance Vegeta chooses not to. The canon Vegeta had it CRAMMED into his brain he was superior due to his royalty and his potential at birth. He was then positively re-enforced to kill at a young age, many of which were innocent people, like all other Saiyans. In the Broly movie, he's not even 10 and already so detached he doesn't even care his father was killed and his entire planet destroyed. That's followed up by another 20 something years of more killing while being a slave to Frieza.
Erase all of that. Vegeta is one of the very few to be able to control the Oozaru form, showing massive self control. He also has made a COMPLETE turnaround in the matter of a few years in terms of his morals. This is in part to being introduced to situations that were completely foreign to him, creating growth and changing the way he see's life. If he was RAISED in this setting rather than being introduced to it nearly 30 years into his life, I think it's fair to say there's at least a good chance he would decide, like he's already shown to do canonically, that he is his own person and will be who he wants.
But at the end of the day, he's a fictional character. So whatever fits your own narrative, more power to you.

I like that Vegeta gets to be at his full potential in this version. It always seems like he gets the short end of the stick in the regular DBZ. He’s my favorite character and I always just want him to come out on top.
This is how Vegeta actually is though. As the Prince of all Saiyan's, he was born with a high power level. We've seen memories in DBZ of kid Vegeta fighting and defeating Saibamen with ease... and remember that Saibamen were more or less equal to Raditz in power..
So this is how Vegeta always was. Goku (born a low class Saiyan warrior) only surpassed Vegeta because of his fighting spirit, his strong Will and Zenkai's.

Yeah Goku fought even more powerful foes as one of Friezas minion. He surely lived a bunch more Zenkai boosts than on Earth.
If you think about it Vegeta has only ever lost to Goku in his mind. Goku was physically beaten on earth and vegeta only "lost" after Krillin, Gohan, and Yajirobe steped in. Then in the Buu saga Vegeta won using underhanded tactics. Vegeta is pretty much pissed that he was shown mercy in the first fight, Goku was able to achive what he was working his whole life to do (become SSJ and defeat Friza.) and couldn't beat Goku 1 on 1 and found out Goku was even holding back SSJ3.
in this storyline goku was a low class saiyan and he have a motivation to grow stronger and he have a mentor beside him while vegeta in the original timeline has only nappa on his side and thinks confident doesnt have that motivation because he is the prince of saiyan

You know its kind of interesting. Vegeta is just insanely strong from the start that he would literally stomp the entire DB saga pre Freeza. But the fact that Hes that strong cause a problem, He wont lose until its too late. Barring him form his zenkai boost. vegeta is canonically way stronger than goku and have more potential than him. But its through Gokus constant Zenkai boost through the series that made him surpass vegeta. But who knows, vegetas resolve is way stronger than Gokus.

But freed from his defender title of earth and without the head trauma/love of peace Goku gets to fully embrace his love of fighting which isnt hindered by Vegetas pride. He becomes basically Goku Black and is almost impossible to take in a battle of willpower as he loves the challenge too much

Goku right now doesnt have anything he wants to protect. That will hinder his reason to fight by a lot. Remember, the only reason goku went SSj in the first place is because he lost Krilin.

Goku has always had more potential than Vegeta. Vegeta was only stronger than Goku because he was older and fought tougher opponents. You have to remember that after Goku and Vegeta's first fight Goku's zenkai boost was waaaaay more potent than Vegeta's which is why he thought Goku was a ssj when he first came to namek.

For those that don't know: The Taiyo-ken is the actual name of the Solar Flare, not to be confused with the similar sounding Kaio-ken. "Tai" pretty much means great, the extreme. "Yo", light, sunlight, etc. And "Ken", of course, is "fist" or in this case "technique". Kaio refers to Kaio-sama (King Kai), so King Kai technique.

BUT, Turles doesn't want to get stronger on his own merits, and while he scoffs at those with more natural talent than him, he never proved his superiority through hard work, only through taking from others. So Turles doesn't really fit with this story's take on "evil" Goku.
Edit: Of course, Goku Black isn't exactly like that either in terms of philosophy, but he meta-gamed saiyan power like Goku does in this story, and knows how to take full advantage of his genes, and can't hold his desire to fight back when facing strong opponents. Turles meanwhile just eats fruit.

That all applies to Goku Black. Some of that applies to regular Goku even, but that should be expected as Black is...well evil Goku. But really it goes to show how spot on this author is with the characters and understands dragonball. I think he got hired by Toei and he deserves it.

One of the main reasons I like this Storyline is bcuz we more or less still get the same Vegeta. He's still very cocky, has somewhat of a mean streak, but he also has the friendships that Goku had which I believe make Vegeta stronger. It's what the Vegeta we all know lacks.

He's the same badass character, minus all the Goofy shit he does.
Those are the *_Pros_* to this alternate storyline.
The *_Cons_* imo would be that we wouldn't have Gohan & a few other characters directly linked to _"Earth Goku"_ ... But perhaps Kakarot & Vegeta would become friends earlier & we'd still get the epic Cell Games saga. All I know is that it would be _Super_ fun writing this story!
