I am pretty sure this is the timeline future trunks is from the "Original" yet not the one the show follows. the original Goku dies of the heart disease as shown here. Making Gohan train to eventual become Trunks mentor, who goes back in time, succeeds comes back, Dies to Cell, whom goes back, changing how the previous interaction went further, as they ended up finding the time machine...so we actually are in the 3rd timeline as our accepted canon. (perhaps made worse with super and zamatsu futzing with the timelines.

Honestly when it showed the z fighters fighting and vegeta killed cold i knew this was gonna set up the future that future trunks is from. And also adds to the DB super arc of goku black.

The good thing is he brought that medicine which saved Goku. I remember him saying it was a new disease that Goku caught, so Goku inadvertently spread it to Earth? That would explain why Trunks said he'd be hearing about it in the news. Even if that wasn't the case, It makes sense future Bulma would have a cure since she'd been studying the thing that killed Goku all those years.
I was confused and then realized it was the future trunks timeline and then felt stupid. It felt like he was telling an arc that was never shown but it was really just future trunks.

Yup, most probably Goku faced the same adventures in the current timeline, but the only difference was that Trunks arrived before. That's a clever way to explain what happened to Goku in all timelines that continued until a timeline change occurred (which I think it's three? The one that Trunks died, the one from the Future Trunks we know and love, and the current one).

Its explained in the original manga amd anime by trunks too. It was a new virus that killed thousands of ppl including goku. It wasnt from yardrat or anything. Just like we have a new virus that affects ppls lungs (covid)

Nah, the thing about the super anime is the fact that it literally had no source material to touch upon. Unlike Z and og dragonball, and only relied on notes and key events although the original creator is behind it all still. Couple that up with that up with the staff trying to produce all that content in a weekly basis. Shit was bound to be disjointed and clumsily handled. But fortunately that won't happen again cuz the manga is waaay ahead now. See how all the super movies are good? Yeah a healthy production will do that.

Pretty much same as canon. They had the scene with golden freiza. He let his men attack the regular fighters and they all lost easily to krillin and them. So much so that even krillin was surprised, all scared n' stuff till he actually started fighting them and realized he was actually strong, hes just been fighting ridiculously OP opponents his whole life.

In simple terms this is what happened in future Trunk's timeline. Amazing to find out that the heart disease that killed Goku was due to Yadrat's atmosphere which is toxic to other beings that are not native to planet Yadrat.
This is a fan manga alot of things are inaccurate, in canon Goku had a different teacher that didnt die and this is shown in the Dragon ball super manga. Infact goku didnt even get the heart virus from yardrat, he got it from earth
I love this, I would pay any amount to have this animated and voice acted. So well written, and the sudden tie to Future Trunks' timeline was top notch. I'm not even one for too much fan stuff (save for what ifs) but this has totally blown me away, and it honestly holds true to the story.
I wish this couldve been in the show. The people who make these tell a better story than the writers for most shows. And then vegeta going false super saiyan and fighting back not to mention yamcha, tien, piccolo, actually trying love it❤
I'd have liked this as a standalone movie, I think there was enough content and characters to justify it. Plus as a kid, Goku's alien outfit and instant transmission technique was a gaping plot hole, especially since the technique comes to define his style for years after.
I love that the author gave our boy Vegeta some appreciation with the False Super Saiyan and taking out Cold but my god does he can never catch a break as in this timeline he dies. The Future Trunks timeline will forever be the darkest part of DBZ.
At least that was the part I disliked about the comic king cold was supposed to be stronger in just his second form so he would have been the main enemy with his next forms who knows even matching super saiyan or surpassing it making goku win by strat but nah let's kill that potential before and leave easy kill freezer that is the only part I'm disappointed about

Cole Brown The reason why Goku died in the future timeline was because Trunks never came back in time from the future to inform the Z warriors about the Androids and Goku’s heart virus. So yes this pretty much takes place during the events leading up to the future timeline.
DBZ should’ve gone through with this timeline. Have everyone killed by the droids. And then show when Trunks leaves to go back and time and start the actual Android saga over in the way we’ve all witnessed
It wouldn’t have killed none of the excitement because we would’ve been just as shocked as Trunks was when we saw Android 19’s head on the ground. We would’ve been like, “wait, these ain’t the same androids”
i think it would’ve taken too long to do that though. the way toriyama did it leaves you to wonder how they got to the point they were at when he shows us gohan and trunks. also it allowed him to build on it later in super because if it was part of the main story future trunks would be so relied on as a main character it wouldn’t make sense for him to go back after being so developed. same with future gohan only for him to end up as ultimate gohan with two arms.
things I love the most about this fan manga is one all of this could be Canon if somebody just decided to make it. Second most important reason is because it's complete unlike most fan mangas

What I love most about this fan made manga, is that it actually values what ssj was meant to be. A rare, ultimate, powerful form, that when controlled, can make you a truly skilled and strong warrior.

LOVE IT!!! This is the story that originally was happening in the first timeline. The story line we all witnessed as kids was due to future trunks coming back in time with the cure for the heart virus and shreds Frieza and King Cold to bits.
This is amazing I would’ve loved to see this made into a tv special or something of the nature. Also the way it carries over into the future trunks timeline is perfect props to the creators

Nah, the thing about the super anime is the fact that it literally had no source material to touch upon. Unlike Z and og dragonball, and only relied on notes and key events although the original creator is behind it all still. Couple that up with that up with the staff trying to produce all that content in a weekly basis. Shit was bound to be disjointed and clumsily handled. But fortunately that won't happen again cuz the manga is waaay ahead now. See how all the super movies are good? Yeah a healthy production will do that.

Pretty much same as canon. They had the scene with golden freiza. He let his men attack the regular fighters and they all lost easily to krillin and them. So much so that even krillin was surprised, all scared n' stuff till he actually started fighting them and realized he was actually strong, hes just been fighting ridiculously OP opponents his whole life.

This is a fan manga alot of things are inaccurate, in canon Goku had a different teacher that didnt die and this is shown in the Dragon ball super manga. Infact goku didnt even get the heart virus from yardrat, he got it from earth

I love this, I would pay any amount to have this animated and voice acted. So well written, and the sudden tie to Future Trunks' timeline was top notch. I'm not even one for too much fan stuff (save for what ifs) but this has totally blown me away, and it honestly holds true to the story.
I wish this couldve been in the show. The people who make these tell a better story than the writers for most shows. And then vegeta going false super saiyan and fighting back not to mention yamcha, tien, piccolo, actually trying love it❤

I'd have liked this as a standalone movie, I think there was enough content and characters to justify it. Plus as a kid, Goku's alien outfit and instant transmission technique was a gaping plot hole, especially since the technique comes to define his style for years after.
I love that the author gave our boy Vegeta some appreciation with the False Super Saiyan and taking out Cold but my god does he can never catch a break as in this timeline he dies. The Future Trunks timeline will forever be the darkest part of DBZ.
At least that was the part I disliked about the comic king cold was supposed to be stronger in just his second form so he would have been the main enemy with his next forms who knows even matching super saiyan or surpassing it making goku win by strat but nah let's kill that potential before and leave easy kill freezer that is the only part I'm disappointed about

Cole Brown The reason why Goku died in the future timeline was because Trunks never came back in time from the future to inform the Z warriors about the Androids and Goku’s heart virus. So yes this pretty much takes place during the events leading up to the future timeline.

i think it would’ve taken too long to do that though. the way toriyama did it leaves you to wonder how they got to the point they were at when he shows us gohan and trunks. also it allowed him to build on it later in super because if it was part of the main story future trunks would be so relied on as a main character it wouldn’t make sense for him to go back after being so developed. same with future gohan only for him to end up as ultimate gohan with two arms.

What I love most about this fan made manga, is that it actually values what ssj was meant to be. A rare, ultimate, powerful form, that when controlled, can make you a truly skilled and strong warrior.
