    Power and Glory could've done with different outfits, but as a team, man, SO good. The Powerplex remains my favorite tag team finisher of all time.

      Another vote for the Powerplex!

    • @markv1274
      @markv1274 Месяц назад +4

      It's easy to see why Power and Glory had their momentum halted: The Nasty Boys. The Nasties were tight with Hogan for some reason, which is why they walked into the WWF and took the *belts* (Vince hates when they're called that, by the way) on their first WWF pay-per-view as a team. Power and Glory being injured prior to their match with Legion of Doom at WrestleMania VII didn't help, as Power and Glory could only manage to work a squash. The combination of The Nasties in the WWF and Power and Glory being squashed on the biggest show of the year severely damaged whatever chance Roma and Hercules had to become the WWF tag team champs. Power and Glory should've rested instead of going to WrestleMania VII, then they could've taken the belts from The Hart Foundation in between WrestleMania and SummerSlam. When The Nasties took the WWF tag belts, that was the beginning of the end of the golden era of WWF tag teams. Sure, Legion of Doom took the straps and held them for several months, yet the belts then went to Money Inc, followed by The Natural Disasters--like I said, The Nasties signalled the beginning of the end of the WWF's golden era of tag teams.

    Let's be honest, it was for everyone's benefit that Sting and Warrior went their sperate ways. If they'd stayed as a team, not only would we probably not have gotten their iconic singles runs, but i can only imagine how it would've hampered Sting's in-ring progression. Warrior was always trash in the ring from the start of his career to his final appearance, and relied on his batshit crazy charisma, roided up muscles, and favorable booking to get over. He never improved much because he never wanted to or felt that he needed to. Sting on the other hand, actually put in the work. He was brought on by good people who actively mentored him, and were making sure that he could carry himself beyond just muscles and crazy promos. If they'd stuck together as over-inflated roid guerillas, neither of them would've had a lasting career.

    Here's one that I reckon nobody else here remembers: Johnny B Badd and Michael Hayes! They were thrown together for a WCW Worldwide taping, then split on the same day. According to Cagematch, they had three matches with Harlem Heat. I saw two of these when they aired on Australian television. Of course, the WCW Worldwide tapings were done to cover several weeks of television, so all three matches took place on the same day.

      The Can Ams and Demolition were supposed to have a back and forth tag title feud. This then became Strike Force Vs Demolition. However it all went wrong from there as fans wrongway cheered Ax and Smash at WM4. (as they would continue to do for the rest eight months) and then Martel was "injured" so he could look after his sick wife. The Powers of Pain were brought in as avengers for Strike Force and Vince briefly dabbled with making them the new two man Hulk Hogan before realising they were a couple of stiffs. So the WWF had to just lump a bad situation with the Demos being wrongway cheered against every babyface team around. In the end the Brain Busters were made new top heel team, the Powers also went heel and Ax and Smash hung onto the belts became proper babyfaces and top face team as the indestructible superhero team Tully and Arn would eventually screw for the belts.

      If not for the WM4 reaction and Martel's wife, Strike Force and Demolition would have passed the belts back and forth a good few times.

    10:00 I seriously doubt Stan and Bobby were meant to be in the Horsemen. They were feuding with Tully and Arn and had just won the belts in an emergency title change. It would make no sense for them to defect to JJ DAillon after they and Cornette had beaten Dillon's men.
    The Road Warriors turned heel, beat the Express for the belts and formed an alliance with the two remaining Horsemen Flair and Windham. The Express completed their face turn when they feuded with Paul E and the original Midnights.
    Kendall Windham, Michael Hayes and Butch Reed became prospective Horsemen. Then Barry Windham left and Flair and the Roadies separately turned face.
