I love that they use the ultimate “comeback starts now” music (Wolfmother, Joker and the Thief) and then it just gets so much worse, in a totally believable way.
yes given Ted's positive philosophy and seeing the previews I thought this would happen I just hoped that it would have resulted in them playing good for just a little bit and getting a quick goal before going full savages.
Agree! I love that they set it up like a classic sports movie - team gets all pumped up and motivated, epic music score build up, stare down of "evil" team - only to then subvert what would normally happen and instead of coming back from behind to win, they get blinded with rage and play horribly. Really great writing in my opinion.
Ted knew it was the wrong type of energy they needed since Nate always favored a controlled patient form of play that took advantage of the opponents rashness
yeah However I wish they would have come out and played really well with determination at first and taken the lead but then get a red card for cursing at or pushing Nate after a goal and then having everything fall apart and go crazy because they couldn't control their emotions instead of everything going bad immediately.
Got to say have been a fan of the Premier league for a long time but becoming more and more of a fan of Series A. It won me over after seeing someone do what looked like a judo throw then scoring a goal and no foul was called and the player that got thrown got up without making a dramatic scene. Following Juventus Milan and Inter lately and love it.
If even DANI ROJAS looks angry at you then you fucked up real bad. That boy could have his arm eaten by a tiger and his takeaway would be that it's good an endangered animal is getting the food it needs. And as a fantasy author I enjoy once said there is nothing you should fear more than the anger of a gentle man.
:05 I Love seeing Jamie just as upset as the others (he really is part of the team now) and Zava looking around like "WTF where is this coming from." Not to mention Roy's and Beard's approving nodding.
If you notice Coach Beard and Roy use Nate’s strategy of a video disrespecting Richmond to fire up the team like Nate did when Jamie Tartt was playing for Man City.
Love how the rematch with West Ham is the complete opposite at half time when they go out and play with love rather than anger and it's Rupert that has a meltdown rather than the Richmond players
I couldn't stop thinking about the Argentina vs Netherlands match. The Albiceleste wasn't mad at the players but more so the Netherlands COACH. It was personal and ended in one hell of a brawl.
The first red (Bumbercatch?) was a yellow at most. Zoreaux's red wasn't even a foul. He comes to challenge for the ball, which runs away, and the West Ham player clearly jumps into him. Zoreaux had every right to go for the ball, made no movement to take out the man, got run into, and somehow got sent off. The Montlaur one is a clear red but was strangely only given as a second yellow.
Let's just be honest here, if AFC Richmond were one of the "big six," they'd still be playing with 11 players and VAR would have screwed WHU at least once.
All I care about from this episode is the way the Richmond players stared Nate down entering the second half, idc they lost, idc Nate gets redeemed he is by far one of my most hated characters ever in any show and that is one of my favorite moments in tv history fuck Nate, come on Richmond!!!
Did anyone else not like how the writers went about this scene? I thought they got stuck in with the aggression too quickly. I was hoping for a player to score an absolute rocket from all the rage built up which would make us think the comeback is on, only to then start slide tackling and getting red cards. I was disappointed with this scene i won't lie.
I think it’s realistic. Beard and Kent had the players’ furious during half-time. It’s no surprise to me that they went out with the intention to kill during the second half, apart from Zava of course. Zava is Zava.
When I saw this unfolding I thought it was going to be a carbon copy of Neil Warnock and Sheffield United getting the game abandoned be getting almost everyone sent off 😅👍🏻
Left the first half as footballers, came into the second as hockey players. Gotta love it

God I loved the team walking out and staring Nate down, favorite moment of the episode! Too bad what happened next obviously :/
That and beard yelling, "Kill!."
Nate is lucky the entire team didn't show up at his place at four in the morning.

What I find funny about this is that half the fouls were probably yellow's at most, can't tell if VAR is a thing in the Lasso-verse
