I think the phone is fun and productive. I have had a Samsung Note phone since the Note 2. Both Samsung & Apple release the same shit every year. At least LG is trying something.
Samsung is adding Spen support to other phones. Just a matter of time before the folding phones become the new note.
I've been using Samsung note since the original. They have their own issues. All of them. Giving this a shot. Should be here tomorrow and then my new journey begins.

I've had two Notes and currently using my Note 9 still. I agree ith Samsung doing the same thing - don't fix what ain't broken to be fair... But yes, I am really considering the LG Wing, I really like it and I love tech, so I think this being around $400-500, I'm really considering it.

I bought the Wing and have been in love with the Design Of the phone since it was launched. now it's so sad that LG is quitting smartphone line I really hoped lg would make 2nd generation phoned

@@MiguelRPD as an owner of an LG Wing I can safely say that you still get security updates but we're still stuck on Android 10.. however as of a week ago South Korea got their Android 11 update for the wing so I'm still holding hope!
When you swivel open the screen you can attach a Star Trek type sound effect as well as others. Go into the Sounds tab in the settings menu.

Too much of a negative approach even though you're pointing out the specs that will hopefully improve in the next phone. I would be more congratulatory towards LG for being creative and innovative. Looks like a decent 1st generation compared to other brands who have faults as opposed to this phone who hit it out the park in my opinion.

1st off lg is not making phones anymore so no more generations after this, 2nd just because it’s a innovative idea, doesn’t mean it doesn’t have flaws. I’m glad he pointed out this stuff because I’ve only seen people say good things about the wing when it clearly has flaws. I know that sounds weird but I have the wing and I completely agree with what he’s saying, I bought it because I thought it was a awesome Idea! But I’ve been having it for over a year and I keep going back to my z fold 2 because it’s like what he said, “ it’s a cool idea but for what?” Don’t get me wrong, it’s a awesome idea, but it definitely has its flaws
I just brought this phone yesterday, and spent more then 10 hours thoroughly testing it, and it agree that this phone"could" have really been THE GAME CHANGER, and it love the swivel more then the 2 screens or folding... But like you said every time I'm wowed later in like if only it was more powerful. Its not that its underpowered its just that its not overpowered. When running one thing it works PERFECTLY but when it try to game on max settings for too long and run something else it definitely shows where it should have had a better processor like the 800 series Snapdragon and more ram like at least 12 or 16 on the 256gb version...and it sucks because it gets sooo much right! This main screen is incredible. And the ability to run 2 games at once ( like LoL:wild drift and pokemon go) is literally mind blowing, it can't praise that enough and the multitasking is alone worth it. 9 out of 10, if the specs was better i would say that this was a perfect phone for what it was trying to be.

I think LG knew that they were going out of business and so they didn't put a whole lot of effort into this device. They kind of just slap something together that was Innovative but didn't complete the phone by adding extra horsepower and also as well the software bugs meaning the way things open up very slowly compared to other devices but I can't complain this device is awesome to me
Phones 📱 are not make for gaming. Go and buy a game 🎮 ...

The review sounds a bit sad with the knowledge that LG dropped from the smartphone business.
The gaming while being able to stream media is a nice touch.
Ultimately I opted for the LG Velvet when I had the chance about a year ago. Kinda sad that these were the last two LG phones ever. I came from HTC when they started making their phenomenal phones. Prior to that I had Palm, who had the best operating system in the early 2010s. I'm convinced I'll ultimately end up on Sumsung just like everyone else though 😮💨

@@kdog350 no. It use to be nice. Now it's just LG's way of copying Samsung's One UI. Shame they can be original like they once were.
Regarding LG updates, I think they've been pretty decent when it comes to security updates. They definitely still lag a bit regarding getting OS updates out quickly but so far, my LG G8 has been receiving constant updates
This phone falls into the category of “I love this phone, but it’s not the right phone for me”. But I hope LG keeps it up, improving and carrying on with this design in the future.

Every time lg do something new you guys aka reviewers find something to hate it!!! It a new product so you can´t compare to anything on the market!!! Remember when Lg put a wide angle len on a phone you reviewers was like WHY DO THIS! but look now ever phone maker does it now!!! LG is the only company who is willing to try!!!!
This phone is a gimmick with very few legitimate use cases. Outside of those, it's just a underpowered, under featured, overweight, too thick phone.

@@Ultimism_ True. It seems to me carrier locked phones are still very common in some places and they should stop doing that. In Norway we can pick and choose. I know my carrier does not even have locked phones. They sell them unlocked. I am not sure about the other big one but the smaller ones I don't think sell locked anymore either. Even when you buy with a plan and get discount on the phone etc. And we often can choose between pay all now or a free downpayment over 12 or 24 months. We have all sorts of strict rules they need to follow. And we also have 2 year warranty + 3 year limited warranty (5year total) on most electric things. Incl phones.. That is set by law. A bit expencive to live here but we do get some nice benefits back too so it could be worse. Bad explained and hard to explain everything but anyway.. USA and many more could learn something from us here😋

Gimbal mode is definitely more steady.
I love it. My galaxy note 8 is still perfect and I'm gonna keep it but if I needed a new phone this one could be my choice. Way better form factor than foldable phones in my opinion and it apears really useful. And now it costs 650€ on Amazon.
I hope they make another one when it's time for me to move on from s10+. I really would love the second screen

I literally always have The Office or Parks and Rec playing in the background when I’m home and working on my phone. I’m sure I’ve been through the entirety of The office 20 or 30 times in my life. Less with parks and rec, but still; great choice. Also, your food looks amazing
LG is a very innovative company, but they need more software tweaks.
I have LG G6, and it is great hardware with weak software unable to handle that hardware properly

The phone itself is fun but the biggest criticism this phone get is "It DoEsNt HaVe ThE Sd8xx, DeAl BrEaKer!!!". So let me ask you this. Would you had paid $250 - $400 more to have all the bells and whistles for THIS phone? If you can honestly answer that and the answer is yes, then show LG that there IS a demand for this form factor and buy it. Otherwise this is a perfectly fine phone for such a niche market.

You’d better believe it. They had to do enough engineering just to get the weight down. They probably could have put in a headphone Jack (but where?)

I want to switch from my 3 year old LG V30+ but I'm waiting for LG to make a classic phone like the V30. Yet to find one. Maybe this year I'll switch from my favourite brand to Samsung or Oneplus. I hope LG stops making half-baked phones and actually step up their flagship game.

@@nerd2544 I love LG but they got the potential but aren't as complete as a Samsung. Samsung makes all around perfect phones. The new LG phones look outdated, bad UI and UX, late android updates, No high refresh screens, no fast charging, better than average cameras. Only thing that makes me love LG is their accurate displays and headphone jack with QUAD DAC. Other than that it's nothing interesting.

Don't get me wrong, I'm also not the one to find this phone super useful, and would not buy it.
However to come up with such ridiculous case studies simply to be able to bash the midrange processor is beyond ridiculous. And that's literally the only example you showed just to shoehorn in the supposed inadequacy of the chip.

At 7:28 u mentioned using front facing camera but only being able to save dual footage HOWEVER, theres an option to save front and back footage separately so u can technically use front facing camera when in swivel mode by itself.
I applaud LGs thought and design behind this smartphone. I love Samsung products and being Samsungs little brother I see that they had to design something unique to compete with Samsung's foldables. Great video and stay safe brother 🙏.

OTH, the question should be: Why are we content with non-swivel phones when they are more difficult to handle? LG built in a handle that serves as a second screen and as a keyboard or control for the promary screen. Isnt that what should be for a mini workstation?
...but it needs better hardware. The execution is already perfect including the gimbal control, so it only needs some hardware refinement and upgrade.

LG always have great idea and dual screen but always lack refinement at execution. Remember the LG slider, keyboard phone with a 2nd screen in the middle...I think it was called the Flip 2...great idea, unique but have to take it as it is.

I've had one for 8 months now. I do like the ability to play games watch RUclips while cruising FB and Instagram. My gaming experience has been great, but I'm not a demanding user. What I don't like is the thumb sensor. It doesn't work. I've had to re-set mine 3 times and it just keeps failing. I use a pattern now. That's a pain in the ass coming from Samsung phones with functions that worked dependably for 3 years. The camera crashes on mine when I try to zoom in close, which is extremely frustrating. As a phone, it has been exceptional, and yes, applause to LG for at least coming up with something different! I hope the next generation makes the improvements necessary to put it over the top that is if LG is still in business.
LG massively failed at marketing this phone. Nobody knows it exists which is a commentary on how lackluster LG's advertising department is. If this were an Apple, or Samsung phone, Every human on earth would know about this phone!

I think all these two screen/dual/folding phones have a trade off. Microsoft is a great form factor, but with a poor camera. The Z fold brought us a huge beautiful screen - again I thought the cameras, in comparison with the Note 20 ultra were only average. It’s seems these companies can’t quite strike the sweet spot. The Wing has now dropped to an acceptable £430 - so I have ordered one. How long I’ll keep it, is another matter.
Now that they are leaving the phone market, they are selling this one in India for 400USD / 30,000 INR. Any comments on that?
At 400$ it's a decent phone. At 999 it's a no go

The problem is not with the specs, as you've said. That stuff is for teenagers to brag about. The phone is more than good enough as is. The actual problem is that LG has cut so many features that made every day use easier in their other models. Tell me why did navigation bar need the notification menu button removed? Or the audio source to be moved into the extended quick settings. There's definitely plenty of physical space on to fit 3.5 jack, and the curved screen is just idiotic. The aspect ratio of the screen makes viewing web pages in landscape mode nearly impossible since roughly only 4 lines fit into that short and wide screen. I could go on. It's things like that that make me question my purchase. I do use the second screen a lot. Not because I really need to but because it is convenient in many situations. I do not wish for it's removal but I am upset at the cost of having it.

Curves at the back make a phone better to handle. Curves on the screen however depends of the palm rejection. Never had issues on Samsung S7edge, S9+ or Note 10+ at all.

Im using this phone and its really nice. The worst part that should be changed should be the location of volume buttons and power button. When you swivel the buttons are blocked by the first screen
You think LG is dumb? They have volume software volume sliders on the screens.
I know they have it on screen but to get to it easily you still have to press the button first

LG problem is it doesn't have a Marquee phone. A mascot a symbol that makes them stand out. in the cell phone space Sony has the same issue. This why Samsung and Apple dominate with galaxy and iPhone. A good phone with specs is just half the job branding is everything. Samsung and Apple give you that plus a whole eco system that follows
