I put this on when I have to deal with the stressful tasks of adult life...organizing finances, doing taxes, etc. This music does something to me that brings me back to a place of peace, even during stressful times.

"Buy Mode 4" is the one and only song I have never forgotten through my years as a gamer. What makes it so lovely is it has this upbeat feel to it that seems to have a energy of creativity, whimsy, and opening our inner designers and decorators. To make a house into a home.

i started playing when i was 18 and still at 43.. now i play with my 12 year old son.. time flies
the first time i played the sims 1 was in mid 2000s, i was in grade 5, at my best friend's house, literally spent hours just to build a house. we're no longer close since graduating elementary school and i don't know what she's up to these days. the only thing that reminds me of her and her house is the sims 1. feeling bittersweet listening to this playlist

Makin' magic had this... special (dare I call it magical) ingredient that really made it stand out. It's that eerie feeling of mystery combined with fun and excitement, absolutely loved every single part of it!
I think it was also due to the fact that Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban came out at the same time and it brought one fandom spilling into the Sims world. The amount of creativity that came out of during these years was INSANE. If you were a Potterhead and a Simmer, you're most likely making objects and skin and builds EVERYDAY or posting about it on thesimsresources forums.

This soundtrack changed my life as a musician. I was hanging out in build and buy mode to listen to Jerry Martin's music. Eventually learned tonal harmony and improvisation on piano when I was a little kid and now I am an arranger/pianist thanks to this awesome soundtrack!
No matter where I am or what is going on in life, this soundtrack always reminds me of simpler times and I smile. :)
I need a time machine - this was such a perfect time, being a kid, getting the big box of The Sims, and playing for hooooours - with bowls of cereal! 😄🥰

OMG Makin Magic extension was the best! I remember this accordion music 52:22 from when I was discovering all the new stuff! It was fun to have dragons as pets, I don't think any other Sims games had that XD I remember I had to put yellow flowers on my garden bc they were their favorite, If I didn't they would get upset burn everything down haha

Sims 3 had dragons as well. But they were not as much fun as in sims 1

If I were to play Sims 1 now after all the years of playing Sims 2-4, it might not feel quite as fun as it used to be. However, I will always treasure the happy memories this game gave me in my childhood.
It's actually fun still! Just needs to be played a bit differently. I find it harder too, which is good to me.
I will also always remember the time my sim got trapped in a bathroom. For me, the nostalgia is there, mingled with the PTSD.

@@Shelabayy I got a windows 11 desktop. If you download a crack for the game it will run. Sometimes you might have to run the game as administrator aswell. If you get an endless loading screen when you go into the neighborhood youll have to remove the "userdata" file. But it can run on windows 11 so any pc should be fine. You'll just have to make some adjustments
@@ShelabayyDon't forget to run compatibility mode if you run into any issues
