I remember playing The Sims 1 as a kid, and that's when I really feel in love with jazz. I'm still listening to jazz today! Thanks for the soundtrack and the nostalgia!
I remember when I got Hot Date. I was around 6 or 7 years old and couldnt really appreciate this music, actually I didnt even like it. But man... oh man... its so amazing to listen to it now that im 24 years old
Ba Ki it really is fantastic. A lot of people didn't recognize how spoiled we were while playing the game. Really happy you came back and listened again!
same here! I also find it kinda funny that at that age i got an expansion pack called "hot date" :P what amazing music! and here i am years later listening to it still.
My sister told friends she was getting me a "Hot Date" for me for Christmas as a joke, but it was The Sims Hot Date. ...joke's on her, this was better! ;) It's been 18 years and this music still has a strong impression on me and was a pivotal factor in breaking free from classic piano and moving into jazz piano. Ditto with the piano in build mode. And every time I hear the buy mode or neighborhood themes I start wanting to home decorate And a special thanks to composers Jerry Martin, Marc Russo, and Kirk Casey. Excellent work
I have just said exactly the same thing that it is a great musical work! I play the Latin 7 piece on ruclips.net/user/neww01 by ear it's worth the detour!
No lie the sims got me into jazz music. I used to record this music on my crappy razer phone while playing the sims so I could listen to it later lol still love this
The intense longing to go back in time whenever I hear sims 1 music... it almost makes me cry. Life was so much simpler then. Ah to be a happy kid again with nothing to worry about other than my sims.
Unfortunately for me, I missed the entire The Sims 1 era (I was 2 when the base game came out lol) so I never got to experience the wonderful music on the soundtrack. I was browsing The Sims 1 songs to find a particular one that I heard in a video and this isn't the same song. Usually when a person searches for a video and the click on the wrong one they go back and look some more. I didn't. I stayed and listened to the whole thing because this music is just too amazing. The Sims 2, 3, and 4 needed songs like this.
It's so crazy and pleasant seeing all the comments and seeing just how many people share the same exact appreciation for this game and it's phenomenal soundtrack. Especially for sooo long. We've all been fans for a good over 15 years and still stick around and listen to the music, and soak in all the nostalgia. Same with Sim City 3000- I absolutely adore that soundtrack. I wiiish there'd be an event organized some day, If we could hear these in concert... Ooooo 👌
What a time it was when this came out. I got this for Christmas 2001 which was my second most anticipated gift following the GameCube. This soundtrack really brings me back to those hours I spent on this game, building fancy restaurants. This to me was the best expansion pack in the entire series. Thank you for the memories.
Que lindo, a mí me gustan muchas canciones por lo general; pero esta clase de canciones son las que me encanta escucharlas de fonde cuanto pueda claro.
I love the sims, and I love playing sims 4, but the first game soundtrack is the bast so far! It geta you in the mood of each place, pack and everything. I really miss this in the last 3 games...
Kinda off topic but the jazz music and dating-dining themes remind me of Sanji from One Piece LOL. I can imagine him fighting with those music playing on the background.
This is the music that made me want to join jazz band. Alas, I never did as practice was at 6:30 in the morning, but perhaps I will join a jazz band when I'm older that prefers to meet at an hour that is not ungodly.
These tracks were always my favourites too. I don't think I would have grown to love jazz unless I grew up playing games like The Sims and SimCity 3000 and hearing their soundtracks day after day.
oh my god thank you for uploading this. I'd play this for hours on end. so many late nights. you finally got to leave the house and go somewhere in this pack. always loved the soundtrack.
God I LOVE this soundtrack! Way better than the Sims 3 music. lol. That music gets soooooo annoying. :D My absolute favorite tracks on here are Smooth and Dizzy Sim.
Eu amo esse álbum. The Sims 1 marcou minha vida.
I am wondering... Is there a specific sub-genre of Jazz that these songs fall into? I feel that just "Jazz" alone is too broad of a term, just like "Rock" and "Pop" are. I think it's mostly the French Horn(?) and Piano combination that I like in these, which I noticed not so many of the Jazz stations I listened to have.
This music of this game was very reminiscent of the 'hard bop' style of jazz which was popular from the mid 1950s to mid 1960s. Good places to start would be 'Three Flowers' by McCoy Tyner, 'K.D.'s Motion' by Kenny Dorham, 'Moanin' by Art Blakey, and 'Morirat' by Sonny Rollins.
Smooth jazz, swing jazz, bop, or hard bop; well, at least these are what these songs can called. Similar songs to these are "My shining Hour" (John Coltrane), "Algo Bueno" (Hank Jones), "Take The A Train" (Pete Barenbregge).
A great Jazz Classic! From the time when they knew a C from a D! And I have the CD! You couldn't make it up! But with me most things fall under that category lol! 🦦
I remember playing The Sims 1 as a kid, and that's when I really feel in love with jazz. I'm still listening to jazz today! Thanks for the soundtrack and the nostalgia!
Jerry Martin and Kirk Casey did a phenomenal job on this soundtrack. This music makes me wanna take a late night drive into town all the time. :)
Yeah playing sims as a child is what made me love jazz too!❤️
I agree! I have played the ims in years gone by! Lovely music! Suche talent! I love Jazz!
Great track! I play the Latin 7 piece on ruclips.net/user/neww01 by ear it's worth the detour!
Jazz моя любовь и именно Симс привил мне эту любовь, спасибо разработчику игр за это!

None of the newer sims games ever got on the same level as the original one, truly.

17:59 one of my favourites. The piano😍
Yeah that's Jerry Marin alright. Sounds like a lot of his Simcity 3000 music. Not that that's a bad thing, he's a great composer!
I could listen to those songs for hours and hours, when was kid sometimes, stop the game just to listen songs 👏🏾👏🏾😍😍❤️❤️👌🏾👌🏾

Haha, i am 30 now and its too much nostalgia for me haha
Loved this game
32:27 The level, phrasing, clarity and soul of that sax solo, it is indeed a really great one!
I love the sims, and I love playing sims 4, but the first game soundtrack is the bast so far! It geta you in the mood of each place, pack and everything. I really miss this in the last 3 games...
My thinking music. I remember my parents refused to buy me this one so I had to play it at my friend's house. It always felt so cool 😁
Kinda off topic but the jazz music and dating-dining themes remind me of Sanji from One Piece LOL. I can imagine him fighting with those music playing on the background.
Sims 1 was my first contact with jazz and modern piano music and i love it
That’s make me happy ,like I was happy 16 years ago..
This is the music that made me want to join jazz band. Alas, I never did as practice was at 6:30 in the morning, but perhaps I will join a jazz band when I'm older that prefers to meet at an hour that is not ungodly.
I remember having to wake up early for it as well! It did end up being worth it but damn we were all so sloppy for like 10 minutes every day!
Great service, thanks for uploading this. Long live The Sims 1 ! Congrats on 2k
These tracks were always my favourites too. I don't think I would have grown to love jazz unless I grew up playing games like The Sims and SimCity 3000 and hearing their soundtracks day after day.
The Sims and all its expansions have great music.
Nostalgic memories of the sims1 :D The hot date was my favorite expansion pack!
The last song is the best one
Thank you for this for real! Don't you dare to delete this content cause is precious for real
So thankful thag playing the sims as a 13 year old kid instilled a love for jazz in me over 11 years later!! Love it.
Long live The Sims!!
Thank you Jerry!! I love your compositions!
Ya like jazz?

17:41 smooth (Jerry Martin) is my favorite.

God I LOVE this soundtrack! Way better than the Sims 3 music. lol. That music gets soooooo annoying. :D My absolute favorite tracks on here are Smooth and Dizzy Sim.
Agreed - Sims 3's music can get to be a little too....quirky, if that's the word? Great choices on your favorites.
+shidoshax 17:41 is Smooth. The horn section is absolutely perfect. I wonder if any High school jazz ensembles would ever play this, lol.
17:41 Smooth. Real smooth. One of my favourite tracks.
If I'm ever in a coma and nothing else works: try The Sims soundtrack.
i love soundtrack

Rum Punch Soundsystem
Ooh, this definitely sounds like it. Thanks alot. XD
The 'french horn' you mention is actually 'muted trumpet', just in case thats an instrument you'd like to hear more of!
what style of jazz is this?
Smooth jazz, swing jazz, bop, or hard bop; well, at least these are what these songs can called. Similar songs to these are "My shining Hour" (John Coltrane), "Algo Bueno" (Hank Jones), "Take The A Train" (Pete Barenbregge).
How the fuck was this recommended to me. I dig it, though.
You missed the best part of being a bored 12 year older. lol jk
Listen to Sim City 3000 soundtrack as well - dog's bollocks :)
The moment when your much older and have realised that the soundtrack from Sims hot date is 70 adult movie porn groove....(Funk jazz)
The Incredibles much?
EL TRUCO
tsnks
Who is the sax player??? I'm still googling for it, but no chances...
Armen Boyd, Marc Russo, Rock Hendricks (discogs)
I may or may not have accidentally read "Jazz" as "Jizz". :/
7:40 is the WORST most fucking annoying song ever.
A great Jazz Classic! From the time when they knew a C from a D! And I have the CD! You couldn't make it up! But with me most things fall under that category lol! 🦦
