    Wow! I made this yesterday and had it for breakfast today (minus the apples), this is so delicious. So far, every recipe of yours I have tried has been amazing. made mine on the thicker side and cooked the raisins in with it so when poured into containers, the raisins settle to the bottom. so so good, thanks again!

      There’s a shortage on pumpkin throughout the United States right now. I don’t know if it’s due to Covid or not. I bought a couple of sugar pumpkins today to roast and purée. I also bought several cans of sweet potatoes. I used to work in a bakery, and was told canned pumpkin is actually sweet potato. That’s why sweet potato and pumpkin pie taste so much alike. Interchangeable.

    This recipe saved my morning!! I just can’t do much meat or savoury dishes in the morning. This has been my go-to breakfast since starting AIP 2 weeks ago. Tastes like pumpkin pie and is the perfect substitution for yogurt!!
    Any variations? I tried substituting with mashed cauliflower and applesauce, but that wasn’t a big success. The cauliflower taste came through (which is surprising!). I am hoping for a plain base to add berries to.
    Thanks!

    • @MicheleSpring
      @MicheleSpring  4 года назад +1

      I'm so glad you like it! I have quite a few variations in my membership site, the Autoimmune Collective (autoimmunecollective.com/ ), but a good plain base for berries would be just to mix the coconut milk with a little bit of cinnamon and maple syrup - and the gelatin of course. And have you tried making a sweet potato bowl? That one is one of my faves to put berries on: ruclips.net/video/65h8eMH5sKA/видео.html If you use white sweet potatoes it isn't as "sweet potato-y" as the orange kind.

      I'd probably go more with the directions for yogurt at that point, since you want the probiotics to proliferate. I've got some in this doc: www.dropbox.com/s/tvv95di529gftiq/Instant%20Pot%20Coconut%20Milk%20Yogurt.pdf?dl=0

    Question about the coconut milk. I buy the thai brand and it has this big clod of coconut cream at the top and is separated from the runnier liquid at the bottom. Do I mix this together before using or just use part of it?

    • @MicheleSpring
      @MicheleSpring  5 лет назад

      Yes, just mix the two together to make it a thick liquid. Are you doing AIP? If so, I'm not sure that brand is guar gum-free, which might be something to look at as guar gum isn't compliant (but don't freak out if you've been using it, just going forward you might want to look for a brand that is compliant - assuming you're doing AIP :-) Ignore this if not!!)

    • @mefougner
      @mefougner 5 лет назад +1

      @@MicheleSpring Thank you. I looked and it's a no go. I'll get a different brand. I just wondered what to do with the separation. And, I'm at the beginning doing the AIP. I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed, but one day, each day to deal with it, and plenty of freedom to make it work for now. Thank you.

      no, as the collagen won't "gel" like the gelatin does - like it won't form into a solid form. Sorry!

    I need help trouble shooting! So I tried this last night. I’ve done it with pumpkin but this time I did it with carrots and put it in a blender. It’s usually great but today when I went to get it, the gelatin separated from the rest of the stuff 😭 I don’t know what I could have possibly done wrong. Any suggestions ?

    • @MicheleSpring
      @MicheleSpring  3 года назад

      Oh weird! Did you blend the gelatin in with the carrots at the same time or separately?

    • @danielachavez3317
      @danielachavez3317 3 года назад

      So I actually blended it all at the same time. But maybe it could have been that it didn’t get hot enough? It wasn’t as hot as a usually wait for.

    • @MicheleSpring
      @MicheleSpring  3 года назад

      @@danielachavez3317 hmm, yeah, not getting it hot might be a factor. I've blended the gelatin in with carrots before (and other things like spinach, etc) and haven't had issues - so I have to wonder if it was the heat since gelatin definitely needs to reach a certain temp before it "activates" or whatever it's called, lol. I hope it was just a one-off issue for you and it doesn't happen again!
