....the repetition of the WRONG SWING..I think Jonathan kaye called it many years ago that Tiger's "tension filled" swing would break his body down eventually. The real issue here is the shear mental strength of Tiger Woods - very Hoganesque...
Nah I disagree if you have a balanced body you’re in tune with and hyper aware of any signs that it could be getting out of balance, you can do all sorts of movements a crazy number of times. I just think in today’s athletic culture we don’t really have an understanding of how biomechanics and emotional / mental health can be intimately linked. Take a look at the marathon runner who broke the 2 hour barrier, pretty sure he’s an example of a guy who does athletics while still listening to his body, and not against it. I recall that guy saying once he never runs at 100%, only at 80% or 90% or something like this. The point being you can only push your body to 100% so many times, but if you train well and happily, then what your 80% is can keep climbing.
@@codylarson6842 As an amateur in 1994, Woods underwent surgery to remove benign tumors and scar tissue. I really hope he's ok after that horrific crash. One of my greatest sporting heroes West Bromwich Albion and Real Madrid's Laurie Cunningham died as a result of driving too fast. Here we have THE best golfer ever to play the game; without meaning any disrespect to greats like Nicklaus, Snead, Hogan, Ballesteros etc, Tiger Woods has it all and had just started to strengthen his game again. I would love to see him back one day soon.
I hope that Tiger can finish off his career in style. With this surgery, he bought himself 5-7 years to get it done. I say this based on something that I saw on discover channel about 5 or 6 years ago. I man had the cartilage in his knee replaced with a synthetic material. He had a full recovery and returned to running shortly after the surgery. At the time, the physician said that they had yet to find a substance to replace what nature put in there. He estimated about a 5 year shelf life for the replacement material. Maybe they have made advances in this type of material, but I don't foresee beyond maybe 7 years for Tiger. For a less active person it may be longer.
"Tiger's using the TaylorMade M3 driver that has the most adjustability of any club out there." That is so incorrect. What about drivers such as the Mizuno GT180? over 1872 combinations...
Elmo Blatch I currently have the Mizuno in my bag. It has way more options than any driver on the market. I don't know exactly how many, but it's way more than the taylormade.
O. G. I guess you have hit every single setting? Lol. I game the new Mizuno and I have to admit idk what the total number of setting are, but I've messed around with it for hours and it's really surprised me with its difference in ball flight performance when I am tinkering
Dan Kemp I know.. lol.. I thought Tiger looked to be playing the Taylormade that didn't have the weight adjustability. I could be wrong or he could have switched. But there isn't a driver on the market that's more adjustable than the Mizuno.
Scapular ROM is 35', not 20'. The normal ranges of motion for these movements are 20’ scapular abduction and 15’ scapular adduction. Add 20' lead scapular abduction to 15 ' trail scapular adduction=35' in addition to the ROM of hips (up to 50 ' using feet and knees); 85' without any stress of the spine.... zero!
Hope Tiger recovers with the least amount of pain as possible. I have degenerate disk desease, I don't have the pain he does and not any surgeries as he has had. Get well soon Tiger. 🤗🥇🥇🥇🥇🏒
There was a time when he was hitting 320 to 340 yard drives with a steel shaft. If he had this technology of today back at his peak imagine what the numbers would be.
Can he win on a consistent basis again?? I believe he can, it will only take one win again to get his confidence back, once that happens it's on. If his personal life is aligned and back to normalcy for what he deems normal and his body holds up? Skies the limit.
I think if Tiger used his legs for power, and allowed a hip turn on the way back, none of these injuries would have even be thought of. Left knee, hip, ankle, lower spine...all caused by the planted left heel, which causes stress in those areas.
Without injury Tiger would have 50% more wins than he has. Think about that real quick and how ridiculous that number is. That's not even a what if he has proved his consistent greatness a 100 times over. There is no clearer GOAT in a sport
It’s so weird to read comments like this cause it makes it out to seem athletes have no control over their health and injuries. The fact tiger woods has had his career affected by his health issues and injuries so much makes me more cautious about trusting his view / advice on athletic excellence.
When life gives you lemons you make lemonade. That’s what tiger is doing right now with the itty bitty lemon tree he’s been given. He’s been able to let it grow a little bit given the circumstances and then make some lemonade with it
He is more than performance. People love tiger more than ranking. He has not won masters since 2007 why he is still the hottest topic for this masters?
Cheng Ji probably bc he has won it 4 times. Look at the great shots he's posted there. Tiger at the masters will always be relevant the same way Nicklaus was into his 40s and even now for that matter. When the greats miss a Masters it's known by everyone there. When the greats show up its even more exciting
They really turn it into a Taylor made commercial.... tiger has always used the latest equipment it's just that 20 years ago when he started they used stella shafts and clubs rarely fitted dont act like modern technology has saved him 😂
Golf is good for people's longevity. The problem with many golfers is that they want to swing out of their shoes at a million miles per hour to compete. If a golfer swings within normal range, that golfer is exercising his back not injuring it. He or she will have a nice long golfing life!
did the golden bear go thru this.. well the hawk nearly died protecting his wife in car accident and still hobbled to the green jacket.. thats heart but the scrutiny of the today's media is ridiculous

Def not a artificial disc! It’s a fusion, he had a cage w bone graft screwed in both upper and below vertebrae. Artificial disc is completely different device. This joker needs to pick his words better. Tiger will likely need further surgeries in 10 yrs time due this segment being so rigid for the disc above.

He won
Tiger proved them wrong.
fast forward a year later and he wins another major.
His late 2000s back & knee injuries were sustained at Navy Seal like training camps, not golf injuries.
yep...if he'd only bought those Seals lunch....
As far as the swing with no injury, great consistency and longevity; Moe Norman!
One of the best Tiger swing analysis!
Beautiful, hope he stays healthy, Tiger FTW!
I had the exact same procedure. And having a fused lower spine eliminates the full range of a torso twist. Golf swing has totally changed.
Tiger's mental discipline is the strength of his game. Plenty of golfers use a style similar to his and suffer serious injuries.
The donut looks good😋
I wonder if Tiger ate the donut?
Pure athleticism and technique.
I think he's just fantastic with all he's been through injury wise

He's always had crazy club head speed. Back in the day he was swinging heavy steel shafts and the numbers weren't true
Interesting just like Federer, they both adopted the new technology late. Better than never as they say.
