  • New Stihl MS462 "stage 1" ported for a quick test to check how the saw responds to some mods. Yes, I was super throttle happy that day, only for testing for sure :D

    I was running this saw for about 2 hours at about a 30-50% duty cycle ruclips.net/user/postUgkxfQm1wmg0ItKDLavxj1nXtQY9HP7EF504 and it did a great job. I used the lever for the built in sharpener to clear chip buildup out more than to actually sharpen the chain. It managed to cut some hardwood stumps much larger than it's size without bothering the neighbors with hours of 2 stroke noise.

    325 chain makes the whole test pointless. Same with that short bar. Probably rips stock with that setup. Put a 28” or 32” and burry it. That’s where gains can be seen.

    • @Dechsi87
      @Dechsi87  5 лет назад +1

      Yes it rips stock with that setup, it was only for testing to check out if the saw runs right or not after my changes! I don't use 28" for such small wood, i have another videos with the 462 and bigger bars, this was only for personal testing, check out the thread on OPE.

      @@steppoffaith8426 It was only for TESTING!!! Not to see any gains, why should i use a bigger bar in that small kind of wood? It was fun to use the light 462 with a big 9pin rim to cut my firewood, nothing more. I have enough other videos on my channel with bigger bars on the 462.

    • @skuckdmv
      @skuckdmv 6 лет назад +1

      Dechsi87 Sorry... In some countries MS 462 is sold with and without M-troning feature. I'm not so familiar with the M-troning carbs, but hitting a Rev limiter on a 2stroke is not a good idea. Maybe the software can't catch up with the modifications that you did to the saw.

    • @Dechsi87
      @Dechsi87  6 лет назад

      No problem! ;) It was only for short testing. In my experience, the mtronic copes very well with the porting. The saw runs now for weeks fully ported and daily by a professionel logger. Personally I would love to have non-m-tronic saw! It gives me more options.
