Morpho Knight actually first appeared in Kirby Star Allies. The best understanding of the character is that the butterfly at the beginning of every kirby game is actually the harbinger of Death and Destruction. In Star Allies the Butterfly ate Galacta Knight after he awoke, incorporating his power into its own. Then it seems that Morpho Knight traveled through the portal at the beginning of the game with everyone else to devour the remains of Fecto Forgo to grow even more powerful

It's also referenced to be a being of judgement. And when it lands on Kirby it's trying to judge/absorb him. However it can't do either. So it takes the next best thing, which was galataknight. Who was told to be able to destroy plants and worlds. Seems the butterflies main thing is going around and absorbing powerful soul beings...for what? Who knows.
according to his description in this game the butterfly seems to seek out the strongest creature and absorb them to turn into Morpho Knight, meaning that it is possible that it tries to consume Kirby when we see it with him, but Kirby is just too powerful.

To be more accurate, Galeem and Dharkon are both copying Kirby bosses, Chaos Elfilis is part of a long line of secret final bosses in Kirby, who all mysteriously have the same set of moves.
The soul bosses are really interesting, I wonder if there’s any lore relevancy to their similarities
@@Frytoons given the significance of void my theory is that void soul that we see in star allies is literally what pure evil/negativity/hatred looks like, so the soul bosses that take a similar form are filled with so much of the same negative emotions that make up a negative void reincarnation that they take up the natural form those feelings take.
I only noticed the Soul of Sectonia reference with the vine attack.

For context on why your saving Leongar is that he was mind controlled by Elfilis. The Beast Pack were all completely unaware there was another behind the strings... except Clawroline
Even if that were the case (I personally don't buy it, as Leongar looks and talks completely differently when he first threatens to literally eat us compared to when he's definitely posessed), I simply don't have any reason to care for the guy that enslaved all the Waddle Dees and corrupted Dedede's mind, characters that I actually like. This mode would have been more effective story-wise if the point was to save Elfilin's soul instead, after he sacrifices himself at the end of the game.
@@victoriapulcifer6218 my guy please read the gacha capsules. Leon was a very different person before encountering fecto forgo. Its stated in the capsule for saving every soul
@@victoriapulcifer6218 If you read the capsule descriptions, it says that Leon didn't even speak AT ALL before being possessed by Fecto Forgo. There's a reason why Clawroline only speaks in meows and Leon uses full sentences, haha. So yeah, definitely been thoroughly under Fecto influence from the start.

Deep Sleep is really good. It fully restores your HP and gives you a passive buff!
people always be sleeping on sleep when it's literally a full heal that the developers tactically place in exchange for your current powerup. It's only bad after you get the strongest sword upgrade (which is supposed to be broken)
You can just use it in waddle Dee town and get free power-ups
@@azulesmalls5514 actually you still have time to get your ability back, even with deep sleep, you just have to be quick after you drop the ability you have, so its like a free heal and buff or refresher if you have less than 200 seconds (deep sleep only), but its kinda rng what buff you get (unless there are inputs that guarantee a certain buff)

In the original, super smash bros, when pickachu shocks a character it shows their skeleton. There are a few exceptions to this with one of them being Kirby. Kirby does not have a skeleton
The idea of Kirby having a skeleton is less terrifying than him not having one, though. Imagine seeing his ribs and skull contort though the thin flesh walls of the water Mouthful mode.

Fun fact: the Phantom bosses are created from the negative thoughts of the various bosses you fight and it’s even explained that Phantom Dedede comes from Dedede’s feelings of humiliation from being controlled by Fecto Forgo
Morpho Knight technically first appeared in star allies, but a butterfly, likely the same one, has shown up in every kirby intro since the beginning.

There's actually a glitch you can perform during Chaos Elfilis's fight where if you go out of bounds, you spawn in another Chaos Elfilis.

@@moon4236 There are videos of people fighting two of them and according to them, if you just beat one of them you technically win because the other one can’t hurt you anymore because you’re in a cutscene.

Morpho Knight is indeed an existing character, from the previous game: Star Allies.
Yeah, but his appearance in that game is of highly debatable canonicity, since he only turns up in the sub-game _Guest Star ???? Star Allies Go!._ This is his first proper story appearance.

Actually, in that spirit, it could be argued that Morpho Knight has been in EVERY Kirby game, since he’s the butterfly that shows up in the intro sequence. But that’s just nitpicking.
Kirby bosses aren’t trying to be Galeem and Darkohn. Galeem and Darkohn are trying to be Kirby bosses. Literally, World of Light was just another Kirby game with crossover guest characters.
I'll do you one better. Galeem and Darkohn aren't trying to be Kirby bosses. Galeem and Darkohn are trying to be Kirby himself. Galeem's ability to enslave Fighter trophies and then make clones of them is actually the exact same ability that Kirby showed in Milky Way Wishes - the ability to store Copy Essences, call upon their powers at will, and then create sentient "Helpers" that are clones of the original copy essences. Effectively, Galeem and Darkohn are showing us what Kirby could become, were he less benevolent.

Tell me you've never played Star Allies without telling me you've never played Star Allies, lmao
Choc, as somebody who basically mains Drill Kirby I would like to tell you exactly what it is that you're doing wrong with it. It's called sucking.
And trust me, you're GONNA wanna upgrade it. FULLY. I'm practically a master at it now. You'll see.
From my experience, you do Art Attack from TTYD if the enemy is standing still for a length of time (and not doing something that hits you out of the ground), go for uppercuts if the enemy is on the move (or up in the air), and go for repeated dodge attacks for if they are doing a lot of attacks that hit you out of the ground or not giving you time to dig.
I love the double drill, a lot funner than the normal drill
Sleep is such a useful ability that when I see it I drop my current ability and use it. Especially if you have deep sleep upgrade. Plus your ability stays around longer so you have time to grab a sleep and then get your copy ability back.
The amount of problems he would've avoided if he got the Forgo Hammer...
If you talk to the waddle dee next to king dedede, you unlock masked hammer. It’s charge attack instakills bosses like wild edge
So, when I played the postgame, I ended up missing a single piece of Leon's soul in the first area and so did not realize that Elfilin had text to tell you that you were done until the second area.
So I had to re-play the whole of Forgo Plains because I didn't look behind a tree.
Sword is blatantly intended to be the best ability in this game and I love using it.
Best all purpose, though hammer is still best DPS and ranger is safest ranged

Sword may be strong, but I beat the entirety of Ultimate Cup Z with Noble Ranger +2.
Don't underestimate the ''Deep Sleep'' ability.
I use it before every mission in the Forgo Dreams & Arena Challenges.
Lore:
Ok so I’m pretty sure the animals are all your freinds now is cause Elfilin’s other half (I call him forgo) was using its powers to influence the animals to do his bidding. If not that he had their leader under his control so he basically he had the animals under his control. Either way after your beat him you destroy his body but his soul and mind survived and retreated to a word of his own dreams (forgo dreams) and he took Leon with him and scattered his soul across the dream land so he could prepare Leon to be a vessel for him to possess. He then created an army of phantom beasts to prepare for a massive invasion. Then of course Kirby shows up and messes everything up! Then the butterfly shows up and used the power of his soul to become morpho knight. The butterfly is a bringer of destruction that uses the strongest soul it can find to transform into morpho knight. It actually appears in the intro to many Kirby games! After you beat morpho knight, Forgos soul still survives and now had absorbed a ton of power from the butterfly. It’s uses this power to create a new body (chaos Elfills) and open a rift above the arena for one final attempt to get revenge on Kirby. So Kirby fights through the ultimate cup wins and defeats the soul. Kirby’s basically destroys all the power and evil in the soul so it gives up and floats down to Elfilin just wanting to be whole again. So Elfilin accepts Forgos soul and they two halves and one again.
Im not the best with lore so if I’m wrong feel free to correct em.
Eh, you’re mostly right. Couple quick corrections:
1) Morpho Knight is pretty clearly a straight-played Butterfly of Death and Rebirth, an Eastern trope wherein butterflies are symbolic of the cycle of reincarnation and purification. ‘Morpho’ is Latin for ‘form’ or ‘structure’ - it can be said that Morpho Knight is ‘Rebirth In The Form Of A Knight’.
In other words, Morpho Knight is a spiritual being - a _psychopomp,_ a guide for those who are dead - that consumes and purifies restless spirits, enabling them to move on. (At least, that makes sense for this game. The only other enemy it’s eaten so far is Galacta Knight, although that’s arguably non-canon and may imply that Galacta Knight is also dead… not relevant right now.) In doing so, it assumes the form of a knight - Meta Knight. Why it chooses to challenge Kirby is unknown, but given that it leaves behind the MKS blueprint, I think it’s most likely a full Meta Knight situation.
2) Fecto Forgo, Elfilin’s other, stronger half, also has a meaningful name. Fecto means ‘complete’ or ‘whole’, while Forgo means ‘without’, ‘before’, or ‘to lose’. This has obvious implications for the deformed mouse fetus and giant puddle of goo incarnations of the creature. Interestingly, Forgo ElfiliS, not ElfiliN, is the name of the complete creature - and Elfilin has quite a bit of potential meaning stuffed into its little green etymology.
First, Elfilin is pretty close to ‘elfin’, which generally means something along the lines of ‘small, delicate, and charming’. But that’s just the first layer - it’s revealed in the Japanese version of the game, in Leongar’s Gotcha Figure description, that Elfilin’s full name is actually ‘Fecto Elfilin’. Remember what Fecto means.
And on top of that, Elfilin is an anagram for ‘Nil Life’. ‘Nil’ is the Japanese name for Void, Star Allies’ final boss and an incarnation of ultimate destruction. This is a bit of a stretch, sure, but it’s reinforced by the fact that there’s a bit of Morse code in Lab Discovera’s opening sequence, which spells out EFILLIN when decoded - a rearrangement of Elfilin that’s just straight up NIL LIFE backwards.
Elfilin’s name can be directly interpreted as ‘Complete Nil Life’, which is suitably ominous. But then there’s ElfiliS - which is strange. Rather than the ‘Fecto’ they share, Forgo Elfilis - the complete incarnation - is ‘Without Nil Life’. It deliberately omits the word that means ‘complete’.
It’s an interesting etymological puzzle which might be solved if you squint at what actually HAPPENED to Void Termina back in Star Allies, and the events of this game as relate to Morpho Knight, Forgo, and Elfilin. It’s implied, repeatedly, that Void could ‘dream of friends reunited’ in his battle descriptions in Star Allies, among other tidbits with the various incarnations of Void Termina and its core. Together, they seem to imply that in defeating Void Termina, Kirby cast it back into the cycle of souls, giving it a chance to be reborn as a friend. (Star Allies is also the first game that features Morpho Knight. Ever.) Then, in the very next game? We have Elfilin, an alien being of mysterious origin irrevocably entwined with a creature of pure destruction… Elfilin, whose name could be read as ‘The Whole of Void Termina’. And everything we go through with Forgo is a long, _long_ series of battles that could be read as _purifying_ that creature of destruction’s soul, and reuniting it with the half that desired happiness, not destruction.
Tl;dr: Forgotten Land is basically just finishing what we started with Void Termina back in Star Allies, going to the literal ends of the earth to purify its soul and help it become whole as a creature that is no longer trapped within a living nightmare of hate and destruction. As a _friend._
And Morpho Knight is trying to help us manage that the same way Meta Knight tries to help Kirby - by being a super cool boss character and doing mysterious, villainous-looking things that actually help us save the world.
And I have no idea what ‘Elfilis’ might mean. That s is really throwing me off. It’s not a workable anagram for much of anything, as far as I can tell.
That’s cool and I can now that you mention it I could see Morpho knight training Kirby. But I’m not sure if this is a continuation of voids story as didn’t Elfellis attack and was contained for 30 years and split into its positive and negative parts due to them being experimented upon?
@@bbboi9127 Eh, the Kirby timeline is nonsense anyways. And it’s not hard to imagine that a series this fearless about screwing with its canon would casually have a character be reborn in the far past.
(Side note - the complete Elfilis IS actually Fecto Elfilis, I screwed up a little there, but that’s not really important anyways. The rest of it still holds together well.)

Also, Void Termina’s theme song is titled ‘The Star Conquering Traveller’, which doesn’t make much sense considering Void Termina seems to be a sealed-away god of destruction… but it’s a _perfect_ description of the teleporting invader Elfilis. And the boss fight against Astral Birth: Void in Star Allies has flavor text that… I mean, just read it.
The final battle at hand, Void takes his first steps toward a new age. In place of tyrannical rage, will he find... naptime? Gentle breezes? Treats? He may even dream again... a dream of friends reunited!
This is a one-to-one description of the idyllic life Elfilin leads in Waddle Dee Town.

I would recommend upgrading hammer all the way it's definitely the best boss ability.( Tested by the speedrunning Kirby community )
Specially Toy Hammer, but i think buffs only make it better than Masked Hammer, but its good to have both maxed
@@diegoaguilar1954 Toy Hammer +Star is apparently the #1 DPS ability in the entire game, by a fairly long shot. Masked Hammer and Morpho Knight Sword are better general purpose abilities, especially MKS since it has self-heal and stronger projectiles, but Toy Hammer hits like a train wreck.
It really depends on your playstyle though
One piece of advice: always, Always, power-up every abilities and weapons before a post-game stages!
Actually, don't. It's really better to focus since otherwise you're gonna be grinding arena for rare stones for powering up the final weapon unlocks.
@@sinteleon The game gives you enough Rare Stones to max upgrade all your abilities before post.
@@123christianac You mean max evolve. Reaching post game gives you the ability to upgrade abilities outright, which is where you'll suddenly feel the pinch of not having enough rare stones if you've already used all of them to evolve.
@@sinteleon Yeah, that. (Upgrade, Evolve, Power-Up mean the same thing to me as different games use them inter-changeably.)
I didn't find it necessary to fully power up the abilities as Sword and Hammer already do so much damage Tier 3 and up (with Tier 3 gotten before Post Game).

If it makes you feel any better, at 20:33 I also missed that one and I missed a total of 3 in my entire playthrough before backtracking. But to answer your question... Morpho Knight has only been in Star Allies before this... and he absorbed Galatica Knight... essentially butterflies are grim reapers/soul eaters in the kirby series.
Most Kirby games has a side mode that you unlock after the main mode that is either the same game but with half health and new enemy changes or a speedrun mode where you play as another character. In either case, the bosses you fought in the main game return with a different color palette, new patterns, and an additional word or suffix (for example, EX for Return to Dreamland, 2.0 for Planet Robobot, or the Parallel bosses for Star Allies' Heroes in Another Dimension), very much like the Phantom bosses in this game. Even the mini bosses get upgraded, which is also seen here despite the fact that they look the same and have the same names.
Edit: The thing about Chaos Elfilis is that while it can be rough, it's NOWHERE close to the bullshit that is Planet Robobot's true final battle.
Until you do the hammer superjump glitch to spawn another one then it is true hell props to you if you can get it up to FIVE AND WIN

Morpho knight is not new introduced in Kirby star allies in the arena. It was a combination of galactic knight and the butterfly seen in the beginning of most Kirby games.

I like that elfilin actually tells you when you've got every soul in the room so that I don't have to backtrack constantly and worry about if I am missing one
So basically, I grinded out the Meta Knight Cup to get Morpho Knight Sword+⭐️, and I somehow spent half of my time on the Ultimate Cup Z on Chaos Elfilis and beat it 1st try. IDK how I did it but hey, I’m not complaining.

The ‘electron’ after chaos elfilis’s defeat is actually the last peice of it’s soul. Giving up to become one being once again with elfilin

This was such a wonderful platformer and I loved the challenge the postgame brought
Morpho Knight is a beta design for Meta Knight repurposed into a new character. It first appeared in Star Allies. Based on the Japanese pause descriptions of Star Allies (because the English translations are notoriously bad in that game) it is a god of death that passes judgment on the deceased, and takes the form of the red butterfly you see in a lot of Kirby games. It can assume its fighting form temporarily if it absorbs a powerful enough soul. It is basically a combination of the Grim Reaper and the Egyptian god Anubis. They kept butterfly motif because butterflies are a symbol of death and rebirth in Japan.
I could buy morpho reappearing more so then galactic knight.
Out of all the abilities I would either go for sword or hammer depending on the upgrade
Choc when you use the deep sleep ability it will either give you attack boost, defence boost or speed boost so if you combine all of them you get double health buffed up attack and buffed up speed
Main Ability is either Ice or Sword
Ice is really good if you get the freeze off and has a perfect shield.
Sword is just good in general (except base sword)
in regards to the chakra stuff, both Chakram and Chakra means something like "Wheel". The Chakras are indeed both a Hindu and/or Bhuddist concept (my apologies for misremembering, it's been a while) in regards to attaining a balanced spiritual, mental and bodily state.
Chakrams on the other end are bladed rings that could be of various sizes, were sometimes carried on kind of point-like turbans, and it is said they were swung by spinning them on your finger and then flicking them forward.
Of course these things weren't capable of cutting bone or going through plate armor, but they could still deliver a nasty cut-- and in a hot climate like in India (generally speaking), I don't think many people would want to wear heavy armor for long.
Lots of crazy weapons from India and stuff, man. And also Africa. The Urumi and Khanda for the former, and the Kpinga and Benin Sword for the latter, and much, much worse.

On your questions about Morpho Knight, this is his second appearance in a Kirby game, his first appearance was on an extra mode of Kirby Star Allies were you play as the Dream Friend/partner characters, and originally Morpho Knight was an unused Meta Knight design, but it finally was used and became canon in this game
Morpho knight was never a meta knight design, he was just in his section if the artbook because they were both knights. Morpho knight was planned for a long while
Morpho Knight has been around since the first kirby game hes signified by a butterfly and through out the series theres been butterflies but i think it was the 3d titles that solidified the the orange and red butter fly being morpho knight he didnt act but you can see it interact with kirby and co before and after their adventures but in star allies hes the secret final boss he basically deletes galacta knight out of existence and consumes him and turns into morpho knight: the knight of judgement he got sucked into the portal from the beginning in this game if you look close enough and thats why hes here again

I could totally see Morpho Knight as maybe a Meta Knight echo fighter in the next Smash. I hope the Switch gets another main Kirby game before Nintendo retires the system, but I am guessing it is unlikely due to the Switch already being 5 years old.
Nintendo said the Switch is halfway through it’s life. They’re not retiring it anytime soon.

16:14 - Fun little tidbit about that 3 can soda machine bit, if you completely die with the soda machine in your mouth, you'll respawn with like, 999 cans. I was trying to see if I could reset the room by dying for some reason, and I stumbled upon that glitch. Not sure if it happens every time or if I just lucked out.

For the Kirby ability I'd main for life, probably Jet or Feather tbh. They have a lot of versatility in the air and on land, plus I'm just a sucker when it comes to flying around at super sonic speeds in video games.

Morpho Knight's first appearance in the series was in Star Allies, where he was able to disintegrate Galacta Knight before materializing. He was fairly divisive: some hated him for being shockingly easy when compared to the guy he beat in a cutscene (even when you don't have the huge attack and speed bonuses you can get in the extra mode) while some loved his design and the fact that if you play as the dream friends in updated versions of the game you get to hear special remixes. The final Star Allies update also gave us Morpho Knight EX to better represent his power.
The fight in Forgotten Land is way more fun and better conveys the feeling that Morpho Knight is a huge threat even without going EX.
The one ability that I would use would be the morpho night sword at the end of post game and it's the best ability in my opinion

Also, if you wanna really screw with Ultimate Cup Z, the health buff actually fills BOTH bars. Not the greatest for Meta/Cool Sword, which wants the second bar, but yeah it's great.

yeah, Morpho Sword is almost an insta win, the most broken ability, both due to insane damage with health steal, the best dodge and tricks upon tricks under its sleves, the only power up able to give it a run for its money its Maked Hammer, and only Damage Wise since its damage output is higer peer hit

As people here in the comments have already said, Morpho Knight did in fact exist before this game. His design dates back to concept art from the cancelled Gamecube Kirby game (which later became the basis for Return to Dreamland), but he made his first in-game appearance in Star Allies. Then, he made another cameo in Super Kirby Clash with the Morpho Doomblade/Doomhelm gear before finally making his comeback in Forgotten Land. So good news, Choc, it's looking like he's here to stay.
It's a bit of a shame ya didn't get the Deep Sleep upgrade, cause it's honestly quite good - you can actually choose when to sleep, and when you wake up, it gives you a random buff (either double health, Attack Up, or Speed Up, though the latter two can't be stacked past 200 seconds each this way. Still, it saves on some coin spending)
Did Ultimate Cup Z on my first attempt, I had barely any health left when I delivered the last blow, and that was going in fully buffed up!
Personally I’m a massive fan of the Crystal Needle ability. Yes it’s not the most practical but it’s my favorite to use and it’s better than things like Tornado.

What do you mean!? Tornado does pitiful damage against a singular strong enemy compared to needle which you can mash attack and deal rapid stab damage, launch damaging crystals, and any stars attached to you. Sure Tornado can do the star thing as well but it’s damage output otherwise is pathetic compared to needle. And that’s not to mention the crystal spikes you leave in the ground when rolling around that are great for things like Sillydillo during his rolling and spinning phase and any other bosses with chasing attacks. Crystal needle can also make better use of the bullet-time effect when dodging properly and can also make you immune to wind boxes. Overall the two are night and day when compared to each other. All tornado is good for is swarms of weak enemies which needle is also amazing at clearing.

The shorter bosses that can’t get hit by the flung crystal chunks are so few in number since most are big and can be hit or wide enough to get hit when they drop down from their arc. Or if you’re really good with it, you can space yourself just right and not have to worry about it. Even still, those small crystal chunks are just chip damage compared to the actual constant skewering of the spikes.
Chakram Cutter main, through and through. They actually made Cutter fun in this game, and it's the perfect balance of speed and power to feel badass. I did the Ultimate Cup Z with it without upgrades or retries, in true True Arena fashion, and boy did it hit just as difficult. There are a lot of ways to cheese this game, but I love when I'm having fun and giving myself a genuine challenge. Charged return snipes from downtown are SO good feeling.
Morpho Knight is actually a VERY old character! He was planned for the scrapped Kirby GCN game that eventually ended up becoming Return to Dream Land, appeared in an art book and people thought he was concept art for Meta Knight, until he finally made his real debut in Star Allies as the secret boss of Guest Star mode. He's basically the Grim Reaper, and YES HE'S MY FAVORITE BOSS TOO THE FIGHT IS SO SICK. He was kind of a joke in Star Allies, but his moveset transitioned MAGNIFICENTLY to 3D and the new remix of his theme is amazing. I know a certain someone who's going to freak out when he gets to this point in the game...
