Episode 4: ruclips.net/video/cy_3SFpq_4E/видео.html
Chocotopus: lava there's fire
My Geography Teacher: Its MAGMA! because its underground
fellow dandori masters, remember: we've had like 22 years to train our pikmin skills. choc is a precious new member of our pikmin flock.
Well, P3 was my first, so I am a bud, Choc is a leaf, and y'all are flowers.
It's still really nice to see more people interested in the Pikmin franchise. For us veterans, we didn't have much choice other than to play the same games over and over.
I started with 3 so I know what was like, then played a little bit of 2 where i became a bud, and now about halfway through 4 so almost at flower, the game is hard to understand at first but the more you play and learn, the simpler it gets, soon even he’ll be at our level
[run, run!] THE [water wraith] IS HERE!!
Dandori issue (Fair enough)
Seeing Choc call himself a Dandori master after getting a bronze is like that meme of the guy celebrating in third place.
The one where he's spraying champaign everywhere?
@@darkbladenexas yeah
A win is a win
Unless there was under 10 people or sometime 3rd place is pretty great. I'd celebrate too.
3rd place in a two man competition
Pro tip don't freeze every enemy as you will need the bodies to get more Pikmin and seeing your playthrough right now you are going to need a bunch of Pikmin
I know this well and it ended me up with over 400 blue Pikmin by the end of Serene Shores(at least I have candypop and boss fodder in the back)
@@animatetrioj1507I got over 500 blues. That level just makes your blue pikmin increase by large amounts. Pretty sure I had less than 100 before I started that level.
But in caves freeze every enemy for nectar, right? The enemies give barely any sparklium make them useless
@@animatetrioj1507 i have like, 150 reds and 50 blues
Yeah tho if you don’t kill all your pikmin like this you don’t need the bodies as much
It’s always fun seeing someone be jumpscared by the Waterwraith for the first time, it’s a great experience in this game
Loving all the freak out jump scares about the Waterwraith. Hang on let me find the Chuggaconroy’s reaction clip from his Pikmin 2 LP.
@@Videogal1993 I JUST HAD TO SAY IT
@@Videogal1993I JUST HAD TO OPEN MY MOUTH
Here’s a tip, Pikmin just need to be in your squad to be safe, and you don’t need to be in the sea-bear circle to be safe.
@@GalacticSuperSoulNot for the end game timer he aint
For when you want to tackle the Engulfed Castle again, I'm fairly certain the requirement for the Waterwraith appearing on a sublevel is the same as in 2, which is after 5 minutes on a sublevel, he shows up. Be fast and don't be afraid to run through the cave multiple times if you aren't confident in being fast and efficient!
@@GalacticSuperSoul no
wouldn't be a spotty bulbear circle instead?
Don't ever feel bad about rewinding if you majorly screw up because some parts are hard to get through without losing a lot of pikmin, especially towards the endgame.
Dandori tip: The gear item that summons idle pikmin is very useful for "queueing" up a task. Because it sends pikmin to where the signal started and not your current position, you can use it next to items and then leave and pikmin will automatically pick up anything near the signal when they arrive, letting you move between tasks knowing your leftover pikmin will follow your signal.
oh I didn't even think of that! I've gotten so used to using "go here" from 3 that I had been using that through most of 4, and it never crossed my mind that the idler's whistle could be used to basically move an entire swarm of pikmin as though they were an extra captain! I'm definitely gonna use that and go back through some of the dandori challenges for higher scores and times, thanks for the tip!
Dandori tip: call your pikmin off of enemies before the enemies shake them off so the pikmin don't get stunned
but keep them on while the enemy's attacking because they're probably safe there
Judging by the fact that your pikmin cap is still at 30 at the beggining of the video, you must have missed some flarlics. There are 2 per area, so ponder seeking them! If you ask oatchi to sniff out onions he will seek flarlics as well, maybe that helps. Usually one is in a cave and one is in the surface as well. For example, at blossoming arcadia, one is in a small crevice by the water (you need to freeze the water or use blues) and the other is at the cave where you fight the foolix (if you havent fought it yet, its in a cave close to the first landing zone, behind an electric wall)
Play the game for him, why don't you? You could have just left it off as "there is something called Flarlic, they raise your max Pikmin count and there are two per area. Try looking for them!"
@@Khaelisyo, chill my guy. He's just trying to give advice. Maybe he's over sharing, but regardless you don't have to be rude in return
Keep in mind normal people do not know the names of Pikmin enemies
@@nathanielb1119 some normal people read the piklopedia. this isnt Mario where you wouldnt even think most of the enemies HAVE names most of the time. That said I have no idea what the foolix is either
@@profl0g1c38u rite
Let's be honest, we were all sadistically awaiting him entering the Castle.
I wanted to see him at the discotheque
the castke was so disapointing never saw the water wraith only at the joke boss
@@user-md5dq1qr2jsame I wanna see his reaction to the groovy long legs
I 100%ed the castle the first time I went into it and I can say the blob guy was a pushover.
I was praying he would visit it
Getting elemental resistance upgrades for Oatchi will help you a lot since he'll be able to tackle problems your current pikmin might not be able to.
You can also return to the surface at any time using - to get out of the dungeons whenever you want.
I can say making oatchi immune to elemental things is great especially for some areas during the night he is basically a bulbmin but better
the final swimming upgrade for oatchi is also real handy for cutting down on the amount of blues you have to lug around everywhere
not entirely, because this game loves blues, but somewhat
If you ever go back to Engulfed Castle, you’re limited to only brining Blues in, but if you start from the bottom you can bring Purples into earlier floors and you can also use Glow Seeds to cover hazards that Blue and Purple can’t resist.
My tips:
You can press - to end day early, set shortcuts, and rewind time. I tried not to rewind a lot but things can happen so if you lose a lot of pikmin just rewind.
Some treasures are underground so use oatchi's scent and the treasure gauge
collect as many raw material as possible for upgrade and crafting
Finally oatchi is pretty much a second captain. he can whistle, throw, and more so sometimes give him some pikmin and send him of for maximum dandori ability.
Good luck!
Pro tip, Choc: during night expeditions, you can use Rush to take down most of the fodder enemies like Bulborb Larvae and Albino Dwarf Bulborbs. Their HP is low and they usually walk in straight lines to the Luminoll, so you can use Oatchi to flatten them like a big furry bowling ball.
Or have Oatchi defend with max Def, Health and Chomp and watch him kill everything lol
I suggest for Dandori to immediately look at the map to know your surroundings, since looking at the map pauses the time.
Drone also pauses time. I used it frequently during my first playthrough and whenever I need to plan strats for a challenge.
It lets you get a bit more information than the map at times, but it's good to have both tools at your disposal.
@@quixQuerythe drone is so good, but no one uses it
@@Tozito911 The only problem I have with the drone is I don’t like looking down at an angle, either down or I’m able to move the camera down and up
@@Tozito911 Idk - I used the drone very often - I just mapped it to the left stick button
@@TheBouncyHead yeah, sometimes i just want to move the camera horizontally but i can’t, leaving it vertically and having to spin it all the time to see what’s in front of me
Here’s another tip don’t leave your pikmin unattended especially when encountering a enemy
By the way if there’s a enemy in a room or next to a treasure then it’s recommended you deal with it first or avoid it unless you have more pikmin
By the way there’s a regeneration upgrade for ochi
I didn’t think he’d see the water wraith in this video, but he did and I loved it
After completing the game 100%, I have some tips:
Try to upgrade Oatchi's Buff until he can carry 30.
Use the Survey Drone if you don't know where to go.
Always get Flarlic, an extra 10 Pikmin can do a lot.
Buy a bunch of Bomb Rocks and use them to cheese bosses (Especially if they eat Pikmin)
Certified Pikmin moment. Choc just suffers from a Dandori issue
True dandori issue
Man the engulfed castle was a struggle lol. I ended up just putting my Pikmin in a safe spot and had me and Otachi take care of getting all the treasure and killing/grabbing all the enemies lol
2 tips:
1) control oatchi indipendently. He can wistle and throw Pikmin as well. Use him to multitask
2) you can throw more pikmin than required to an object to make them transport it faster
3) Use the charge horn for a lot of stuff. It's really convenient to use
Few Tips:
1) Glow Pikmin can be taken in caves. You where supposed to have them in the Engulfed Castle. They are immune to everything except consumption.
2) 100% is THE way to go when playing Pikmin. Pikmin games are less satisfying to play when you don’t do 100%. Plus, it’s extra video content. People, above all else, love to see Choc here Suffer.
21:18 the item your probably missing is a random treasure in the corner that also drove me nuts, but also remember you can make oatchi sniff out treasures, including the locations of buried treasures
The second I saw the thumbnail, I knew WaterWraith was going to be in the video.
Tip for night mode: use charge to collect the star bit things as any Pikmin not carrying them will get back into your squad. Also, if you swap between oatchi and your character, all glow Pikmin will teleport to the one you’re controlling.
"if you swap between oatchi and your character, all glow Pikmin will teleport to the one you’re controlling."
Damn, I wish I knew that tip before I finished the night expeditions, not that it was necessary, some of the later ones would have been so much easier
@@darkbladenexasI was wondering that. I assumed they only followed the Rookie since you cant technically leave them idle for oatchi to take some. That'll definitely help me with the primordial thicket expeditions
@BlaizeTheDragon in the end oatchi was reduced to a guard dog for the nights
0:27 Choctopus has adopted the Louie mindset 30 seconds in.
20:43 this gate clip is so funny to me. Nicely done
This took me a while to find out, but helped so much when I figured it out: the type of Pikmin you get from the onion when transporting a creature or flower depends on the Pikmin that carried it there. Check what color the numbers are above the item to see what type of Pikmin it will get you
Don't worry about pikmin losses, near extinction events are all a part of the new player experience and honestly make things more exciting. Speaking as someone who started at Pikmin 2.
Heres some combat tips to help you not lose as many pikmin:
When going into fights always stay on Oatchi since it's easy to manage all the pikmin.
Oatchi's rush attack is pretty good, even when unleveled, any pikmin on him will be flung onto the target. On average to instakill a large bulborb or beefy small guys you need 20 reds or 30 of any other kind when rushing.
When you go to fight big enemies always kill the small ones first, the detect range of the big ones are jank sometimes so just do hit-and-runs to pick off the little guys, because it can be a mess trying to fight a hoard of them. Most small enemies go down in one direct hit or more.
Always attack from behind the target, when an enemy shakes them off try to call the pikmin back and wait for either an attack or some other animation.
Also be sure to throw bomb rocks on different enemies, like the emperor bulblax you fought. If you time it right you can throw it directly into its mouth and stun it, this applies to some other enemies.
Hey I’d suggest looking through every cave in an area even if you don’t want to go through an entire area caves can yeald a lot more treasure than just the surface
Yeah, especially in serene shores because it’s the only way to get winged, purple and white pikmin
I wasn't even thinking about it till it showed up, but Choctopus' reaction to "The Nonexistent Entity" at 24:40-24:45 was even better than I would've imagined. His reactions never fail to amuse.
“I JUST HAD TO OPEN MY MOUTH!” -Chuggaaconroy
Ahh yes, your reaction to Mr. Steamroller was priceless. The same I had when I first went through Submerged Castle in Pikmin 2. The good ol days.
I could brag about doing fights super fast... but that would be pretending that my first clear of Pikmin 1 didn't have well over 600 dead pikmin in a like four hour game. You're doing great!
Hey Choc, this is a tip that I see no one suggesting, but here goes:
Oatchi's Rush has a weird property; if he runs into an elemental hazard (like say, an electric gate or one of those Fire Slug things) he will get hurt by it, but unlike Pikmin, he'll actually do some damage to the hazard/enemy.
If you wish to abuse this, I would recommend getting a few Scrummy Bones to heal damage he recieves, as well as training Oatchi's Rush for better damage output.
Sidenote; you do get the ability to make Oatchi immune to fire, ice, electricity, and poison later in the game.
But if you want to deal with hazardous enemies and don't have the right Pikmin, Oatchi's Rush could probably do the job, but be aware of his health.
Stay strong, you are Dandori-ing very well.
Start spending your pup drive on rush so when you hit an enemy you stun them for more damage 👍
Edit: if you want a certain colour of pellet posse (the flower with numbers) only equip the pikmin you want more of and that will be the only colour you get
I just got through all of the other pikmin games before playing 4 and trust me, there's no shame in a rewind. You dont have to just take the loss when you lose a massive amount of pikmin.
“So how do I get more, do I need a rock onion?”
Yes, that is exactly correct, but you can figure out how and in which world
Tip: with those blue squishy things you freeze with ice pikmin, after freezing them, charge into them with oatchi to save yourself the hassle of waiting.
Choco is always entertaining.
Here's a tip when you're using purple pikmins in battle: It's better to throw purples at the enemy rather charging at them, this is because when thrown, purples create shockwave on impact which does extra.
Here’s some tips:
Every Pikmin including Oatchi can dig, Yellow just do it faster unless it’s a fully upgraded Oatchi
Try using Oatchi as a second commander, he has his own whistle and can throw pikmin after switching to him (Hold down Y and choose switch or make it a shortcut on the D-Pad in the settings.)
Always check which area/dungeon gives you the recommended Pikmin. You don’t need to abide and pick whichever 3 types you want, but it is advised to check it so you have enough to survive well.
Also, there’s a lot to this game, even after you beat it, so good luck!
Fun fact! There is a sound cue that plays when the waterwraith is on its way in the engulfed castle! It's this droning noise that sounds kinda haunting :D
For the record, if you ever fight something that crushes, rocks are usually a better idea since they're resistant. They do less damage but who cares.
How to defeat enemies -
1. Get you and all Pikmin on Oatchi.
2. Ram the enemy's weak point with Oatchi.
3. Profit.
NEVER DO ANYTHING ELSE UNLESS THEIR WEAK POINT IS HIDDEN OR OUT OF RANGE
You can send more Pikmin at something being carried to make it move faster. Try using the charging horn with x more, even outside of combat. Using it on an item with send the required amount of Pikmin at it, using it again will add the maximum additional Pikmin for speed
Use the survey radar when you’re surveying your surroundings because it can pick up on stuff your map can’t if you didn’t explore there already. Also also, Oatchi’s carrying power and his damage output are separate. Him being able to carry the weight of 100 Pikmin doesn’t mean he’s as strong as 100 Pikmin 😅
It's fun to watch how bad you are at this. Also glow pickmin are immune to everything. Make use of them during night and caves
Ah yes, the Engulfed Castle. It's actually a recreation of the Submerged Castle from Pikmin 2, which was honestly even more traumatic than what you dealt with.
A big tip for this game, and something you may have forgotten from the into to the game: If you are riding Oatchi, doing a rush into an enemy will do a chunk of damage to them, and instantly launch all the pikmin in your part onto the enemy. With enough Pikmin you can basically instakill most enemies by doing this.
Choc some tips for dandori challenges are to get as much pikmin as soon as possible, unlock shortcuts as soon as possible too, use oatchi on heavy objects and pikmin on the lighter objects and gold, use drone to look where are pikmin and all treasures time stops when you use drone, use your idlers alert more it saves a lot of time and one final tip is to use all your pikmin on the gold cause it is faster to just put all pikmin on gold than when pikmin need to come back to get the rest. I hope this helps you and other people that see this.
The reason why Engulfed Castle recommended only blues is because the entrance is underwater. All other pikmin would've drowned trying to enter
My best tip is to open the menu with - and set your shortcuts. Clicking my L-stick or hitting a direction on d-pad made managing my pikmin, Oatchi and dandori challenges so much easier.
And don't worry about taking too long. I 100% each area then do all their night expeditions before going to the next area. I'm currently on like day 28, and just now going to Hero's Hideaway.
As long as all your Pikmin are with you OR at the ship, no matter where YOU are, you can end day by pressing the button in the minus menu
tip: when pikmin is drinking nectar call them then the flowers bloom before it was going to bloom
so you can rush them to netar then call them back super fast
You definitely need to do the final boss on camera at least
Watching you simply play pikmin and miss a bunch of stuff is lovely to see
Dandori tips! You can bind the Idler’s Alert to the d-pad through the Menu (-) button. I find it great to spam whenever my Pikmin are idling or freaking out!
Also, it’s more efficient to have the Pikmin Charge Gold/raw materials instead of throwing them individually. It helps reduce time since they all swarm the stuff at once.
Also, final tip! During Dandori battles (or whenever really) you can pull out the Drone (I reassigned it for easy access) and STOP TIME. It’s great for when you want to get a lay of the land, and it can give you time to breathe/plot your next course of action. Also, you can open the map while using the Drone and change the Drone’s location based on where your cursor is on the map. Happy Dandori’ing!
Set up some shortcuts in the menu for the d pad. This is what I have
Up: Oatchi commands
Left: Pack
Right: Idle Alert
Down: Homesick signal
Left stick: Switch
Here’s another tip, when you switch to oatchi in night expeditions your glow pikmin can teleport instantly to you
7:11 rush with oatchi with all pikmin in the face, if you leveled oatchis rush all the way up, it will stun the enemy for 2 secs so that mean vs the bublax to the face, with ultra spicy spray, and a lot of pikmin it is gone in seconds
I love watching peoples reactions to the emperor bulblax. People don’t really know how hard some of these bosses are until they fight them. You did great choc
36:40 I'm glad I'm not the only one who had the exact same train of thought. I was honestly expecting to unlock the ability to do a Kamehameha later in the game.
Hey choc just a tip, there are the coloured onions and there are normal onions, they increase number of pikmin you can have out at a time but you’re a great pikimin player
Coloured onions allow you to produce that colour of Pikmin.
Flarlic increases your Pikmin cap by 10.
@@wurtknurte7283thanks for the correction
@@dafyddparker968
Also once you get your cap to 100, any Flarlics will give you nectar and ultra spicy spray drops
Idle counter is super useful in conjunction with Idler's alert. Instantly know when a pikmin is done with their task and when to recall.
Reading some comments I find it really nice how supportive everyone are, we believe in you choc, and maybe you will only slaughter a few houndred pikmin on your quest
Good to see new people enjoying pikmin glad to see pikmin 4 selling sell love this series
This has to be my favorite choctopus series so far, the pikmin series is so charming, yet so terrifying.
pikmin tip: enemies are a lot easier if you attack them from behind, and charging with oatchi onto enemies is a good idea.
It is also not a good idea to throw pikmin directly into enemy mouths.
1:48 Oatchi having a seizure.
Just To Tell You For The Future, Spotty Bulbears Are Beasts. They Eat Up To 20 Pikmin At Once.
The thing you missed on the 3rd floor of sea floor resort was probably the 2 octopus things at the very edge of the level. If you want to go back and find then you can just skip to a specific sublevel now
Choctopus couldnt find the octopus
He got the octopluses, they were in his final report. I think he missed some treasures hidden in the grass underwater.
Just so you know you can put double the pikmin needed in an item to make it go faster if you didn’t know
If I can give 2 tips; firstly, use Oatchi to sniff out treasures (like the ones you missed in that one cave), and especially onions. He'll find flarlics for you as well, which will be a massive help. Secondly, use Oatchi's rush attack way more. It's the easiest way to get all pikmin on an enemy in an instant, and even stuns enemies for a bit, and is easily the most broken move that you can do at basically any time.
a tip that might've helped at 11:00, you can throw more pikmin than necessary at a carriable object, and the more pikmin are carrying something, the faster they will move.
that water creature thing legit terrified me as a kid
Choc, if you see the monsters about to shake them off, you should call your Pikmin BEFORE they fall off. Never attack from the front for Bulborb type enemies cause that's where their mouth is. Also every Pikmin can dig.
To any newbies, PLEASE don’t feel bad about rewinding, we all use it when something goes wrong and it’s nearly impossible to do everything right first try.
Only had to use rewind time once, but I started on Pikmin 1, and I still dont feel bad for using it that one time, saving the 20 pikmin was worth it, specially keepin my pikmin lost down to just around 30, and almost to 100% with the whole game. If it happens again in the final cave, which is very possible, actually probs more possible there than anywhere else, I will not hesitate to use it again! Lol
Hey Choc heres a tip: do the cave behind the base on top of the sand castle at Serene Shores, you wont be disappointed
Doing great so far man! I'm a vet from Pikmin 2 and You're doing 10x better than I did starting out, Keep up the Dandori practice boss!
Semi-usefull tip: against all logic, Throw all your pikmin at something if a creature eats any pikmin. the pikmin have like 2 second before they get digested, and can get whistled out if you freeze them.
Since u got the idler alert item, instead of opening the pack every time, u can set it to be one of the d-pad buttons by pressing minus then shortcuts
1 rock :(
23:39 the innocence in his voice reading the name compared to everyone else is so funny
You know what, this video actually made me feel much better about my dandori skills. Thank you, Choc!
The Ice Pikmin aren't breaking out faster because they're heavier, it's because they're freezing the bubbles and making them even more fragile.
Seeing the genuine waterwraith experience was fun too see. I kinda just used the Glow Pikmin to blitz through the castle and never ran into him.
*old person voice* Ive been plying pikmin since pikmin 1, and your skill makes me so nostalgic for when I was a small leaf and frequently lost all my pikmin to completely preventable catastrophes. Keep at it friend
Every Pikmin can dig! Yellows simply are better at it.
33:37 well you see when a dad and a mo-
this makes me feel better about my own progress cuz i’ve been playing in a way that works for me lol like ive been focusing on finding the onions/flarlic and have 100% and 98% on the first two levels but also im not a dandori master by any means i just got to serene shores and have maybe 16% of it finished and im on day 25 😅
Pikmin tips!!
-when attacking a large enemy, try to make sure your pikmin are on the back of the creature. If they make it to the front, they will probably be eaten swiftly
-make sure to use your d-pad shortcuts! They really improve the flow of the game
-raw material is a very valuable resource, if you see it, try to get as much of it as your squad allows for
-when running low on Pikmin that you don't have an onion for, oatchi can sniff out where to find more, like in previously visited caves
-the idlers alert is my favorite tool to use and saves me countless precious minutes In the day, so I reccomend putting it on a shortcut
-check the piklopedia to practice interacting with enemies you struggle with, it is immensely helpful for developing strategy in a stress free environment
Good luck Choc!
Also, if you want pikmin to travel faster, you can put up to twice the required amount on one item, its a bit clunky in this game, but it is still possible
Here's a Dandori tip Choc. Having trouble finding treasure, hold y and select commands for Oatchi. You can command Oatchi to lead you straight to treasure. Helpful with finding treasures that are buried.
Every pikmin have the ability to dig not only rocks and btw press x to make every pikmin of the selected colour attack or press it 2 times to send every pikmin
For Emperor Bulblaxes [ The big green ones ] Throw Pikmin and wait for the lick to finish before calling them off. You’ll see them a few more times, so try and remember this!
I feel like most people watch this channel for the hectic, chaotic fun and high quality commentary. That's what I watch it for, anyway. :)
Choc if you are fighting a creature that has its main attack to crush your pikmin rock pikmin can't be crushed, certain creatures can't eat them, and they can't be penetrated be spikes.
here's some ice pikmin facts 1: they can swim as long as they are in your squad. 2: if they freeze something then it will break when it dies and also drops nectar
sometimes it's magical to remember that there are people who have never played Pikmin and thus trying out this new game just leads to a painful experience.
love it.
To find things very easily, use the survey drone to scout out new area or if your trying to 100% the game and trying to find something, like an onion or some cave.
