    your channel is used by my home school children. 5th grade level, we coin roll hunt and when we find something cool we find out everything there is to know about that coin. We haven't had any appraised yet but that doesn't mean we haven't found some pretty interesting specimens. Thank you for your knowledge, the kids love learning history this way.

      The RightStuff the channel is for entertainment, not to be hostile. The man is doing it on his own time to try to entertain and inform people. If he doesn't want someone like you being negative and making other people uncomfortable that is his choice. Nothing to do with censorship. Nothing on this channel is in the slightest way even remotely related to politics or strong opinion. People come on here to enjoy seeing what this gentleman is going to display and people like you, who just simply cannot seem to relax, feel like you have to turn it into some kind of confrontation. If you want to release some of that there are a million platforms on places like Twitter where you can do just that. Let the rest of us just enjoy ourselves for a few minutes. Thank you.

    I like your rambling!!! LOL It shows you are human...You are more positive than most, and you're encouraging.There is one I unsubscribed from because he whines all the time, and is negative and bad mouths others. I also dont think that coin graders are Gods, or that grading is neccesary all the time. I think this is the land of free enterprise, and there is no real set way to do business, but I know enough to listen to those that have been successful, and are positive. About a month ago I bought a brick of pennys that was opened , I was hoping for loomis rolls but these were all customer wrapped. When I got home I checked them all out and found that they were complete rolls of specific dates, all labeled and all wheaties 2500 . Many of the wrappers looked like they were in storage for a long time. probably from a collectors estate .

    This channel and you the BlueRidgeSilverHound coin dude who is extremely knowledgeable and you help me often when I need a question answered. So keep talking, keep the info coming, I just started collecting and roll hunting about a year ago I have done lots of research by reading and internet searching and the first coin video I ever watched was your video on the 1982 Lincoln cent and on my search of my first roll I found 2 1982 no mint mark small date copper that I believe will be graded somewhere between Ms 60 to Ms 67 and I have another that is or will most likely be AU 58, 59. I also have 7 1969 S Lincoln cents one is like a circulated Ms 64 to 68 red, very very nice they are. I do believe there are some errors on the others, I just need a stronger loop or a USB microscope. Anyhow I am loving this hobby and am glad that it is now the holiday season so I can take that wonderful suggestion about all that money saved up for Christmas over the year and not even thinking about what they just gave to the bank or coinstar. Anyhow please have a wonderful Thanksgiving and may you when coin roll hunting find a treasure to brag about

    Looking at dime and quarters edge on its pretty easy to spot silver. The coin will be a solid silver color without a clad layer. Canadian coins will trip you up as they have a similar appearance as USA silver.

    • @RichardGaston
      @RichardGaston 7 лет назад +1

      To a point, yes but Silver also has a sort of milky color which you can spot the difference by comparing the two side by side. But if you look on the edge of a Sliver coin, seeing that it is not completely Silver you will see a small strip of grey on the edge, which is nickle...Remember the older Silver coins are 90% Silver so there will be a bit of Nickle in it.

    • @onedollasnake
      @onedollasnake 7 лет назад

      Richard Gaston no you will only spot that sort of gray like colour only on 40% coins

    • @RichardGaston
      @RichardGaston 7 лет назад

      morgan dollar remember they're only 90 percent silver, if you look closely you will see a very thin line of grey, 40 percent the line is wider for the Silver Clad, easier to spot.

      Why do you save the 1983D & P? You mention also you sell them at $20 each... So I’ve watched a lot of your videos, and I enjoyed all... and I do watch them again as (I’m anal?! lol) I sometimes miss stuff as I try to take notes...I’m going to try to different banks I don’t have accounts with in the downtown business areas. Then I can dump them in my area...also.... would you be able to email a quick answer to my questions as trying to view all of your videos that you make after I send this is rather daunting... usually no date when originally shown easily available.

    My first good score was 53 silver halves in 8 rolls from a bank on my first visit & the teller acted like she's never been asked for those before. When I went back the following week, a couple of days later I got one forty percenter from 12 rolls. Every other hunt I've had with customer wrapped rolls so far has brought no luck. I did however go another bank soon after that only have 2 halves with one of them being silver.

I always spread the word about your channel, and try send as many subscribers your way as possible. I know you've been at this for a whole lot longer than I have, but If it weren't for you, I most likely would not have become nearly as involved in my favorite hobby. Just want you to know how grateful I am for your channel and the awesome content you put out there, and I know a lot of other people probably feel the same as me. As for the haters, to heck with them! There will always be people like that, and ultimately they don't matter at all! Keep doing you, because your awesome, and anyone being rude and or inappropriate don't deserve the great content you put out there. I'm quite poor- literally roll hunt a few penny rolls at a time (lol)- otherwise i would love to contribute to the patreon; one day.. But if there's any other way I can show my support and appreciation, please let me know.. Maybe keep my eye out for a variety you have yet to find and are looking for (you never know!). Really just want to show love and support and appreciation for what you do. Thank you my man, keep it up, your awesome! Peace, Chris

    Only issue I have is that in New York City you have banks refusing giving any change unless you are a customer. During the Covid-19 pandemic though some have mellowed.
    Admire your consistency, I just coin roll when I can and usually not a too much at a time. So far the best I have found is a circulated silver quarter from 48' and most recently a San Antonio 2019-W. Both of these were pulled from customer rolls. Otherwise, once in awhile find some nice specimens of quarters I may find and think worth keeping. Still haven't mastered the varieties.

Also dumping the coins, I would think most banks would require that you have an account. And I don't want to go coin star because that is paying 10 cents on the dollar to cash in your change. Looking for creative ways to dump change, any suggestions? I do use some change to pay for stuff.

    I'm pretty new to coin collecting and knowing what to look for in a coin. I like it when you discuss as you go through your rolls what to look for, just watching it I learned about the two years that are good for dimes, and the bicentennial quarter d, and the 1983 quarters!
    I went to a local bank and bought 1,000 pennies. I got a roll of 2017 coins and two rolls of 2014 coins that appear to be new. I also got 5 wheat back pennies. Would you consider this a good find for 1,000 pennies?
    My relative gave me $100 in dollar coins, lot's of President's and I got $50.00 of SB Anthony's. The SB's are all 1979, and apparently there are two kinds one thin and one fatter around the border. For the life of me, I cannot tell the difference. I also have about 75 president's.
    I went to a local coin store and they were selling shinny President's for $4.00 each. I also saw a 1964 penny they labeled as "mirror", it was pretty shinny alright. I got the 2018 red guide book out and for $12.00 it was pretty overpriced.
    They say the best advice to somebody new to coin collecting is to get the most knowledge and then buy what interest's you. I got a proof set from my birth year, and also am collecting coins that have been circulated from that year too. I love to think that the coins were actually "used" and people could buy a lot of things with a fifty cent piece from 1954.
    I know this is long, but I'm sort of desperate to know what coins to hold on to and which ones I can give back to the bank. As it is now, my six foot long kitchen table is completely full of coins because I don't know which ones to keep and which ones to save.
    I will watch more of your coin searching video's to learn more about keeping the best coins. Thanks, your newest subscriber!
    Dave from Seattle.

      David, check those 2017 Cents (Pennies), you want to keep the 2017-P for the simple reason, they didn't make that many AND it will be the only year that the Mint put the P on the Cent for the mint mark, only worth FV for now but it is a collector item for those two reasons later.

      I agree with Richard, but also you want to learn about rare varieties and keep those as well if you find them. Anything before 1959 is also a keeper. Happy hunting!

    Do you ever go to pawn shops and flea markets to look for silver? Sometimes they have very good deals.

    Have you found a 1982 dime without a mintmark? Those are worth quite a bit of money.
