This video is getting way more attention than I'm used to so I want to point out a few things:
1. Go to 7:36 to see the opening of the coin in the thumbnail
Once you've seen that, read on...
2. I am aware of the Euro. I have found euro 1 and 2 cent coins in rolls before, but had never seen a 10 cent euro coin until now.
3. While coin roll hunting in the U.S., it is out of the ordinary to find foreign coins in the rolls, especially foreign coins that are shaped differently than the denomination that you are hunting. That is why this was so surprising to see.
4. Although very rare, it is not entirely unheard of to find gold while coin roll hunting. When I saw the color and shape of the coin in the roll at 7:45, I immediately recalled posts like these and was thinking today might be my lucky day:
- www.treasurenet.com/forums/coin-roll-hunting/92163-gold-baby-no-joke.html
- www.treasurenet.com/forums/today-s-finds/63227-found-10-gold-first.html
5. I've also gotten a lot of general questions about the hobby of coin roll hunting on this video. For more information on coin roll hunting (how do I get coins, what do I look for, what do I do with the coins afterwards, etc.) please check out this coin roll hunting tutorial video: ruclips.net/video/fH7Q8ntlWJY/видео.html
6. Thanks for checking out my videos, and happy hunting!
I have a 1929 wheat penny that I knew nothing about. No D or S on it and I also have a 1949 Canada 5 cent coin. They both are in super good condition but I know absolutely nothing about them
The golden coin is from france.
lol i saw it was a europian coin when saw this video
the coin is from france, we can see the ''FR" on one of the sides
The coin in this video is actually from Italy. A lot of people have been talking about the "FR" on the obverse, but it's actually "RI" which stands for "Repubblica Italiana". See here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Italian_euro_coins

I think it is! Probably worth about 12 cents.. better than a dime. But worth way more as a sweet find! Mostly I get 2 cent Euro coins. Great vid.
You guessed right! The 2 euro cents make sense because they have the same dimensions as a US cent. It was just bizarre to me that I have found the 2, then skipped over the 5 and went straight to a 10 in a penny roll lol
DEAR QUINS COINS YOU ARE SO KIND AND I ADMIRE YOU SO MUCH.THANKS FOR YOUR COIN COLLECTING HELP.I AM FEEL SO CUTE WITH YOUR NUMISMATIC TIPS AND YOUR AWESOME KNOWLEDGE😉💖👍
I thought it was a beer bottle cap at first lol!
I have been collecting coins for years in the past, I was more of an ancient coin collector (Very old coins). I know every single Euro out of the top of my head and the 10 Euro Cent is an italian version (RI stands for Regno Italia). Period: 2002-2019, 4,1 gr 19,75 mm and 1,93mm thick. Made of a copper alloy. Value: ~0,11 Dollar.
Great information! I know by now that this one is from Italy, I’m really surprised at the amount of people in the comments who think it’s from France. Any idea why so many people think that? A lot of them seem to mistake the “RI” for RF” so that might be it.
@@QuinsCoins I think it is due the renaissance art used by both countries. The italian coins have always the RI mark of approval by the state, an old tradition now mostly used to take them apart. An easy way to see the difference; the italian mark has always the two letters one above the other, while the french ones always have RF.
That is an Italian 10c coin, the portrait in the back is from Botticelli's Aphrodite which is exhibited in the Uffizi Museum in Florence
No its not its a 10cent coin from europe xD
@@koenstruik5001 I know it's a coin belonging to the euro "family" and thus coming from Europe, but despite the diplomatic union between the different countries, every country still has its own mint. In Italy there indeed exists the IPZS, also called "Zecca" as abbreviation in italian, that moulds the various coins with different designs, one of which is the one you can see here. In my wallet i can find cents coming from France and Germany because money literally travel, but this coin in particular was actually produced in Italy and then exported.
Great info! There are a lot of people that are having a hard time understanding this.
@@QuinsCoins you're welcome! I hope I made it clearer how this thing works, because it can be sometimes tricky to understand all the different designs and variation in euro manufacturing.
@@hamiltoncollections6282 I have my facts quite straight.
All 10 euro cent coins have a common reverse side and country-specific national sides.
The 10 euro cent coin specific of Italy is the one depicting the face of venus from "The birth of Venus" by botticelli, and an engraving of the letters RI that is "Repubblica Italiana" or Italian Republic.
In the Irish version it is represented an Irish harp, emblem of Ireland, and vertically the word Éire, that is Ireland in Gaeilge, or Irish to say
I repeat, although you can find this coin in your wallet, that doesn't mean that it was printed in your country. Every nation inside the EU has its own mint, and consequently it was given to each one of them a unique design resembling an important national symbol

10 cents from Italy: The woman face is from the painting "Venere" of Botticelli
What do u do with all the extra pennies? Re wrap them and return them to the bank for refund? I saw a person’s RUclips channel where they replaced their kitchen floor with pennies.... really looks nice.
I do return them, but to a different bank. Check out this video for more info: ruclips.net/video/fH7Q8ntlWJY/видео.html
I swear the floor was filled with GBP (great British pound) pennies (£s) not USD (United States dollars)
what a unusual find in a cent roll! great content keep it up and hope you can fill that book soon!
Thanks so much! :D
This was so exciting to watch!!
No idea why this was recommended to me but I watched the whole video and was interested the entire time. I wonder if I've ever had a decent penny in my pocket and just never realized.
Same
That looked like 10, 20 or 50 cent coin from the title
Enjoyed your video, you inspired me to pick up my Lincoln and complete
I am very glad RUclips recommended this video 😀😃😄😁
Quin, you can buy rolls of wheat cents.
Where can you purchase the penny wheat rolls & have they been 'searched' prior to being rolled?
I bought a roll of "unsearched" wheat and found some really nice ones I think the oldest was 1912 I got it off eBay
For me as european it was not hard to see that it's a 10 cent coin, it is from Italy.
Nice! I didn't know I had viewers in Europe! It's common to find 2 euro cents in the penny rolls because they have identical size, but this was completely unexpected :o
Also from the netherlands
en france aussi..

@@QuinsCoins it's actually a Euro cent from the EU, it can be used between 26 countries (one country is leaving and one country uses their own currency but without those it would be 28)
Saying this before I see the actual coin but its probably a euro coin
Doesnt look like a euro. Looks like a 50
Not euro its European coin ten of those is one euro fifty cent coin is bigger just saying

Any recommendations on a penny album? I looked for the album you use and they are out of stock and dont seem to coming back
Nice box, lotsa hits, cool
"That really could be from anywhere, these are usually quite a few countries"
There's 28 countries, has been for 6 years.
That coin you have is Italian. It was minted in 2002, the date is neatly stamped on the reverse face. Also on that face is the "Birth of Venus". One of the most famous paintings in the world, and a bit of a hint to the coin's origin, was painted by Sandro Botticelli. An Italian.
But really there's no way to tell where it's from...
It's a 10 euro cent from Italy, it has the face of a Venus probably painted by a famous painter from the Renaissance...
No its French, FR republic of Francoise
@@peterperigoe9231 As a FRENCH and as a coin collector since almost 2 decades, i can assure you that this coin is not from MY COUNTRY but from ITALY . Even if of course you can use it in every european coutries in the EURO system... And on the national side of this coin there is no "FR" but an "RI" for "Repubblica d'Italia" !!!!!

nice finds man! do you collect large cents? if you like pennies, you will love large cents...especially early varieties. each one, is very different from one another . just from 1793-1814 there are 295 varieties (unique types of types of coins...). they're also the most aesthetically pleasing coins, most unique in terms of tones, designs, etc. and are the most early federal coinages out there. theyre also definitely coins that were used by founding fathers, american revolution soldiers, ex-colonists, etc. theyre pricier but are the most interesting kinds of cents out there. cheers man

That 10 euro cent coin is minted in Italy.
In the EU, all members may mint their own coins (of course, with strict regulations and whatnot) and add their own "head" to it.
Some examples of this:
- In The Netherlands, we had Queen Beatrix (our former queen) on it but since 2014, we have King Willem-Alexander on it (our current king).
- Germany has the Brandenburger Tor (Brandenburg Gate) on it.
- Belgium had King Albert II on it but since 2014, they have King Philippe on it.
- France has a "unique" graphic on it (designed specifically for the 10 cent coin)
- Ireland has a Celtic harp on it (I didn't know Ireland was part of the EU?)
- Spain has King Miguel de Cervantes on it.
- Italy has Venus from "The Birth of Venus" (Nascita Di Venere) on it.
Even though I'm not a coin collector, I find it interesting to know where a particular coin may have originated from (which is why I know this stuff) :)
Thank you Aroop, great info! I have seen euros from Spain before but this was the first I found from Italy, and the first in the 10 cent denomination.
