In 1976 we were young parents and were counting pennies so we could buy some milk for the baby. We found a 2-1/2 dollar gold piece! same size as a penny, I took it to the coin shop and they gave me $145 for it. That was what our mortgage payment was at that time!!! Your video brought back a very happy memory. Thanks!
My dad would put some not so desirable condition coins back into circulation to keep the hobby alive. He's been gone many years now but seeing videos like this brings a smile to me
So I recently just started coin roll hunting, bought a box of pennies a couple weeks ago, got like 20 wheat cent's, last week wife goes to bank brings back a $50 bag had around 42-45 wheat cent's, this past Friday I got one of those taped boxes, somewhere towards the 13 or 14 roll mark, found my first Indian Head and was also a 1907 along with about 30 more wheat pennies, but yeah I certainly freaked out cause I knew chances was pretty slim just on coppers alone my first box was only around 15% coppers, the 2nd box was almost half copper and the shield cent's are definitely starting to take over so really cheek those memorials for errors if you wanna make big money! I've been a coin collector for many years, always looking through my change, had plenty of silver coins at one time, still have a few, but some of those harder to find errors on older coins are really about gone into private collections! Nice find on the Flying Eagle there, imagine the story that penny could tell if it talked! 😊
@@AllHaiLKINGTIsHeRe3 Somewhere in a school playground, likely came from nearby ground works (though that'd be still strange due to the distance). As for the coin, it was 1 grosz polski (with the legend Z MIEDZI KRAIOWEY present). You can look it up :)
The orange piece of plastic with the metal edge you had in your oddities pile was an old bingo chip. Bingo players used magnetic wands to clear the cards after each game. This was before most bingo halls went all paper cards or electronic cards.
I’m at 8:06 and I’m blown away at how you organized the pennies. I don’t comment on videos much but at this moment in the video seeing how organized the money is, I paused the video, subscribed, hit the like button, and left a comment. Great Job!!
I had loads of Indian Head pennies given to me when a relative passed away 30 years ago. No key dates. There was a toll booth on Grove Street in Clifton N.J. at the time that had a 10 cent exit. As I drove through I quickly pressed 10 Indian head pennies into the toll takers hand, I knew they hated pennies but I remember seeing the look on this guy's face in my rear view mirror as he stuck his head outside the booth. I think I made his day.
I haven't watched any of your other videos yet. I've subscribed. I love this video. I wish there were more like it. I look forward to view all of your videos!
Fantastic find with the flying eagle! My oldest coin penny roll hunting was an 1863 Civil War Token, but man, it would be a dream of mind to find a flying eagle in a roll! Awesome!
Did you look for any varieties? There has to be some doubled dies and RPM's in 40 boxes. Plus, don't forget to check 1992 & 1992D's for close AM's and weigh all 1983's for transitional coins.
That looks so overwhelming to do at once…wow. Nice job with that. Tons of finds. Personally I don’t think I would wanna tackle more than 2 at once. Impressive 💯 great flying eagle bro ❤️🔥
Put the light penny in a glass and shake it. Its probably a Magicians coin. I am a Magician and a coin collector. If its a Magicians coin it will divide in 2 parts. one will be a penny shell and the other side will be a dime on one side and penny reverse on the other side. ( shake vigoursouly to get to separate)
When the chance of winning the Euromillions lottery here in England at odds of 1 in 139 million, this kinda puts it into perspective how impossible it is.
Instead of saying bank roll it is MWR - machine wrapped rolls. And instead of saying hand rolls it is CWR - customer wrapped rolls. Also, how come you don't save 2009 Lincoln Bicentennial cents? They were only made 1 year with 4 different designs and I save everyone.
Can I ask, what do you do with the bulk wheat pennies? We have several hundred with dates as early as 1910's, and local shop would pay us $0.01 to $0.03 each...And I have no idea or wish to comb through them looking for anomolies, etc...
Awesome video, im sure i will have many comments, #1 weight of 73d missing metal? #2 weight of copper you hoarded in this hunt? avg per box? #3 what state? so many D mints !! #4 awesome flying eagle!! Thanks for a great VIDEO
Very impressive! I saw the title and watched this vid, btw this is the 1st vid of yours I've seen and I also subbed to your channel today! The 1857 flying eagle is an amazing find!! I just started getting into coin roll hunting last summer probably hunted between 12 to 14 boxes of pennies and 1 box of quarters! The most wheats I've found in one box was 17, with and average of 10 to 11 in each box on average! I remember my best find to date was at 2am on New Years Day last month, I found a 1859 2 Pfennige!! It was extremely exciting, I can't imagine finding a flying eagle!! I haven't even found an IHP coin roll hunting yet. Have a GREAT Day!!!
I'd like to know how you did with this project. It takes me a month to do two boxes. Look at you, no wonder the coin shortage! Lol...shine on superstar!
Actually Nathan and Ag, those are both wrong. For this specific hunt, it was .00001%. Why? Because $1000 of pennies is 100k coins. .00001 is 1/100,000.
That 1857 Flying Eagle cent is actually the 1st year not the 2nd because the 1856 was a pattern. The law authorizing the small cent was passed in February 1857. Only a few 1856 dated cents were made, mainly to give examples to congressmen, etc. who would be voting on the bill. I guess word got out about these rare cents and they became the target of coin hunters even when they were new and some went into circulation from clueless people spending them. Congratulations, even though its late coming. I've never been so lucky and I've been looking through change and rolls since the mid-70's. I have a friend (who isn't a collector) who got an 1875 CC (Carson City mint) dime in change once though!
This is the best coin roll hunt I've seen on RUclips. I think all these coins were added to circulation last year for the "Great American Coin Hunt" event they had to get people to collect coins.
I can't get a box for the life of me , 4-6 rolls tops & customer wraps.... That's a whole my friend , microscope each coin ? You are organized 👍 congratulations
Flying Eagle cent 1/100,000 that's awesome and Two Indian head those are legendary! Interesting fact only 40 San francisco wheat of 594 in total, that's 1 per box or 1/2500. The Proof is just as rare as the Flying Eagle 1/100,000 in this hunt, the flying Eagle wins in value. Nice hunt You might have stated this in the video, how long did it take to go through 40 boxes? Also was you looking for 2009 coins?
Great video.. .I don't know much about coins but I have $300 worth of 2009 Lincoln continental uncirculated penny rolls. I'm wondering if you have any advice as to whether I should sale them now or do you think they will be worth more in years to come...
That is a great video; amazing finds. Also what do you do with all of your empty penny boxes? I was just curious, as I collect other coin related objects like empty boxes and coin wrappers.
I am doing something similar but a little less crazy. I am going thru 4 boxes. You are doing 10x more than I am doing. I really like the video and keep it up.
In the thumbnail I saw a gold plated. That hollow one if probably a magic coin. Half Dolla Make You Holla found those but they were halves. Penny ones are rare. BTW, I don't want to sound weird, but how old are you?
Congrats on all the coins you found. The Eagle was epic. I so hope you find more Indians on your hunts. Really enjoyed your video. Take care. Got to ask it your working on a type set?
I feel stupid since I’ve been collecting for years, but I’m not good with errors & varieties. I got a 1957D with a filled 5 and a filled 9, and I also got a 1950D with a filled mintmark, and it has a BIE error. I only paid 10 cents each for them. Just wondering, are they worth anything?
John Yonker they’re worth a fair amount to the right person in the right condition! If you can find someone looking for errors for their collection, I’d say around $15-20 in good condition
Coin Hunter Wow! I didn’t think they could be worth that much. Thank you for the info, and crazy that you found a Flying Eagle Cent CRH. I’ve only found 5 Indian Head Pennies in circulation in 18 years of collecting.

They're actually the same diamater as a dime. I've heard of a couple being found in dime rolls, but never pennies. What a find!
Are you 110 years old?

This makes me appreciate the fact that I found an 1822 coin in the wild and without a metal detector even more!
Where'd you find it? And what kind of coin was it.

Wow! You found a flying eagle cent. UNBELIEVABLE!
ya I bet
8:04 is when it actually starts if you just wanna get straight on to the video instead of watching him do everything else
Try and see if the 61 opens. It could be a "magic coin"
Exactly what I was thinking!!
That looks so overwhelming to do at once…wow. Nice job with that. Tons of finds. Personally I don’t think I would wanna tackle more than 2 at once. Impressive 💯 great flying eagle bro ❤️🔥
Great finds! Wow, a flying eagle!
I SMELL PENNIES!
Bonnie The bunny fan 20000 smell my pennies
AHHHHHHHHHHH😂😂😂

I did calculations for indian head cents and theres around a one percent chance of finding one in a box so finding two in one box is really lucky
Flying 🦅 cent! Everyone will call you the Lord of penny hunting! 🙏
i have a 1856 eagle cent people say 200o were minted mine was w whats the value

That, was amazing.
Isn't that like $1000 in boxes of pennies? That's cool. 🔥.Those were great finds!I'm waiting on my first IHP!
CaptainCollector_AndyETC I just found my second last week on live camera
He also had to load all those boxes and bring them home lol
I’ve never found an IHP coin roll hunting but I’ve found one in change!
Great finds and a great job detailing everything. You are truly passionate about coin roll hunting. I never get tired of watching your channel.

I'd like to know how you did with this project. It takes me a month to do two boxes. Look at you, no wonder the coin shortage! Lol...shine on superstar!
I did the calculations there’s only around 0.0001% of finding an flying eagle it’s not exactly the percentage buts it’s close!!!
Ag Hunter wow! Thanks for that!
Well, no. 1/100 is 1%, 1/1,000 is .1%. 1/10,000 is .01%.
0.0001% would mean 1/1,000,000
I did $200 worth and i got 1 and at 1st i was like what foreign coin is this. Then i looked online and was surprised how much it was worth
