    Wow Wendy. This video was honestly my favorite video of yours that you've ever made. I've been following your blog for several years and it brings me so much joy to see how much you've accomplished and how far you've come and the fact that you're using those experiences to further your knowledge of the world. When you are feeling stressed out at work or school and you feel that life is being so unfair to you just remember that there are people in this world living in places like Vietnam that are filled with poverty and hardships.The power of social media can inspire and teach you about the daily struggles that these people are going through everyday. Your life struggles in a first world country pales in comparison to those living in poverty in third world countries.Thankyou for this amazing and touching video.

    It's such an eye opener to think about the gamble that people all over the world experience when they pursue what they believe to be an opportunity that will improve their lives and that of their loved ones. For every one that makes it to school or to a legit work assignment, how many end up in less fortunate scenarios like the sex trade?

    Hi Wendy, I actually live in Saigon and have been here for the majority of my life. I've met Mimi before, and heard her give talks about the sex trade at International Schools around the city. She is truly an inspiration and I hope you work with her in the future. Human trafficking in Asia is not an issue that is discussed nearly enough back in the States. This video was really amazing for me to watch because I got to see my city and my home through your eyes and it's nice to see that we both appreciate its beauty. It was so strange to see you in my favourite restaurants and cafes when I'm so used to the setting on your video being California! Glad you enjoyed your trip here in Vietnam and hope you come back soon. x

    Wendy, I loved your video. It is very warmhearted, interesting and inspiring. I am impressed with the way you displayed the real Vietnam, instead of showing us what tourist go to when they visit. It was very eye opening when you spoke to that lady about the human traffickers. I hope that the people who are able to do something to help with that kind of crime are really working hard at finding away to stop it. Thank you for sharing that video.

    Wendy, this video has touched me beyond words. I'm so glad to see you get in touch with your culture. I can especially relate to those youths in Vietnam because I was one of them. I grew up in the countryside with rice paddies just like the ones you saw. Although I was young and didn't understand at the time, as I grow older, I realize the sacrifices my parents made to get me where I am today. I am so proud of where I came from and I hope that when I have children, they will understand too.

      It's definitely rougher than it seems, and everywhere I go on motorbike or walking, I look around at all of these people or struggle to survive in such a poor country with a broken down communist government, well at least this part I'm visiting. I'm on vacation with my family, and we stay in this big freakin house with 8 floors or sthing, but it's hard to imagine what other people are going through while I'm lounging here...

    • @Don123q
      @Don123q 9 лет назад +2

      Kimberly Nguyen Yea, but let's look on the bright side guys. If you take what Jim said to account, Vietnam is South East Asia's quickest growing economy which is a pretty good thing for its citizens (assuming that the government doesn't take all benefits from the growth). What I have seen on my last trip (2014) is way better than when I went to Vietnam when I was 10 (7 years ago).

    • @Don123q
      @Don123q 9 лет назад +1

      Jacob Nguyen Yea, the best you can really do is actually travel there and share your wealth the best you can. What I usually do when I visit is give away school supplies and clothes for children in elementary school. I also give away bags of rice for needy people in the area surrounding my family's house.

      Jacob Nguyen Vietnam in 2015 is completely different from the Vietnam your parents left. It is still a corrupt, developing country ruled by a dictatorial regime, but it was also one of the world's fastest growing economies for 20 years. Vietnamese-American kids only get a very 1 sided gloom and doom version of how the country has been doing. Most of the population in Vietnam are young and optimistic, and there is constant construction and growth everywhere.

    Hi Wendy! Just discovered your RUclips channel not long ago. Thank you-you are such a DELIGHT to watch. Oh yeah, thank you for featuring our previous homeland of Vietnam to the world Wendy. More videos please.

    Talented woman to walk on a log bridge with high heels! I think I wouldn't mind trading a simple life in the country over my large home in SFO. I miss being in a country where life is simpler. There's a innocent soulful charm to it.

    Love Love Loved your video Wendy! I visited Vietnam about one year ago, and it make me remember all the beautiful things about the country. Very interesting and sad to hear about the trafficking situation - definitely an eye opening video!
