Great video. I don't know if it's your humor, or just mine, but I appreciate how you zoom and frame enough into "Don't use on lights above 200w or above" at around 9:15 warning label while it's attached to your nanlite 300 to notice it :) I also appreciate you actually addressing that just a little later after that and saying why you are comfortable with it.
Thank you for the video though. I have a bunch of 40w~120w lights because of wedding work and needing to use vmounts/batteries, but this light will be a great addition for some planned studio products this year. Extremely well made video.

Haha yeah! I ran the original model for several hours straight with a 500w light as they gave that limit but the new 200w suggestion makes a lot more sense

Excellent video brother! I run a small production company in East Tennessee and we use the Nanlite as our main key regularly. It's killer!

Best Recommendations and explanations on RUclips. Most youtubers only speak on youtubing, you never really get authentic reviews in relation to the rest of the film world. To them 60W is super bright lol, which in reality they are not. Thanks

I had that light and I can tell it's definitely amazing. Even if I got stronger lights, I regret selling it.

I'm gonna need you to delete this video. I've been slowly buying up the supply of these the last year or so and I don't need you blowing up my spot. I hang these overhead on a cyc. They're perfect because they don't have a control box and have good balance for modifiers which a lot of those budget, super small lights don't have. I highly highly recommend.
Also, cases are great for a bit, but if you consider upgrading to crates. The muscle crates on Amazon that are longer and come in packs of 3, they fit 2 of them without the reflectors (which are rarely used let's be real).

hahahaha. perfect use for these! and great idea with the crates. Love that!

You're the reason I'm thinking about going with Nanlite. I have the FS-300 right now and was about to pull the trigger on the FC60 or 120 to pair with it, especially since I can use a remote with them. But recently Ive been looking at selling my FS-300 going with Neewer for my cheap lighting set up. Getting an FS230 and that new HB80c. Please tell me to stop overthinking and just stick with Nanlite 😂

    • @blasepivovar
      @blasepivovar  8 дней назад +1

Haha! Making you think! So totally depends on the work you are doing but if you already have Nanlite I don't see a huge benefit in changing? Here are some thoughts!
The FC60/120 have the large power bricks which I don't love (sorta defeats the purpose of having a tiny, compact light). I own two of the FS60B's and love them for small, compact lights (Only $107/ea). One power cable on those as well.
I personally am not a fan of lights with a built in battery. They don't really last a useable amount of time and just see a host of issues down the road if it were to stop working / get damaged. That said, if a super compact light like the HB80c is desired, I think SIRUI's C150X is the most intriguing out of all the ones I have seen. Again, totally depends on the work you are doing so hard to say without knowing more :)

@@blasepivovar thanks for actually getting back man. The two points you made in the video about anything between 60-200 is just splitting hairs, and using a reputable name definitely hit for me. I got the FC60 over the FS because I'd use it with a V mount setup so I have a portable light. I feel you on not liking built in batteries, its definitely a rish.
Think this might have convinced me to just start investing in Nanlite. Thank you man

@@blasepivovar Hey, i also forgot to mention. I had the same issue with the FS300 and needing to adjust both knobs to move it. But if you play around with it. You can set it up to where you have one side not too loose, and not too tight. and then to make an adjustment, all you have to do is lossen the opposite side. The right side of my mount hasn't changed in a year so I can make all my adjustments with my left hand. Hope that makes sense and helps.

I have wanted to pull the trigger on the 300, but the battery option is important to me. I do have the 720b and the 60c, but was looking for something in the middle.

i know they make a optional ballast for the FC line that allows for v mount but it’s like $400 which at that point I think would be better spent on the forza line. only would make sense for someone who already owns a bunch of the fc line

i haven’t had issues but i did see after posting that nanlite is going to have FS series bags available here soon for $55. a great option! i’ll link them in the description. they haven’t had anything that affordable until now, hence me buying these.
