Lol they definitely lied to you. EACH $1,000 down saves like $18 to $20 a month. But the most important part is it saves you on interest cost.

On a 65000 loan new car...lets say 1.99% APR 60 month/ 5 yr your gonna pay $68,340 all said and done/ $1139 a month. So let's say you put 5 grand down same rate and 60 month/ 5yr so 60,000 is financed monthly payment is $1,050/ total paid at end of 5yr $63,000. While you are right every 1000 down gonna save you 18$ to 20$ a month....but in the long run you actually only save your self 340$ by handed out 5 more grand. The finance officer is helping him keep more money in his pocket like he said.

Makes sense. 20 years ago I was about the same age, bought brand new 325i for about $35K (that's about $58K today). My buddies all like "how you get that man? Oh, that is sweet!". Same story: live at home with grandma, halfway decent job, no wife or kids = easy. 🙂
So true, i’m 19. Finally got a stable job and notice i’m saving more money than usual. Obviously i give my grandma money for me living there, but it’s so easy to afford a car payment. I have a 02 Honda civic that was gifted to me so i don’t seriously need a car, but i know i could afford an RT Possibly a Hellcat

im 16, and im not getting a scat, or a hellcat yet obviously, im only getting a SXT 2015-2016, but how would i get the lowest APR? by putting more down? or just making sure whoever is cosigning for me has decent credit?
My Shelby was about 85 out the door 10 down 1086 a month 72 0% ford financing ( Covid special to move old cars)

Hey I'm 21 turning 22 next month no trade in or car loan history with 520 credit score. I would like to put $3k down on a scatpack widebody and order from the dealer but finance through my bank any advice on how I can get it a better
way or do I just stick on the route I'm already taking?
One of my friends got a scatpack with his credit around 470 but he had to put more money down. I think it will definitely be possible the way you said but the payments might have a higher interest rate or you would have to get a cosigner

You think that would be smart?

You got to have a good job. And great credit for a hellcat or car that runs 75k plus. Unless your buying a older used model? Which is kinda dumb of your going to spend 50k plus on a car? Might as well go for the brand new one honestly imo. Especially because if the previous owner was younger? That drove it rough probably. Another thing is to look good when going into a dealer. Sagging pants and acting like a hood dude is a bad move when you want financing on a hellcat or car that cost that much. So look good and causal. Also most people even with 730 plus credit score are going to have to put a good chunk down on the car. Which does help on interest. Plus when financing a 70k car your spending about almost 100k after financing probably. So the more down payment that better long term for your pockets lol. So it comes down to planning it out. Hellcats and the high HP cars are not cheap at all. There very expensive all cars with bad a** high HP engines woth turbos or superchargers are expensive asf especially when there factory made that way. That's why the theft of hellcats is really high. Because they strip the engines and sell them for around 25k. And they can build a hellcat woth that engine for less than buying a hellcat.

I had credit over 750+. My hellcat was $56k before taxes. I live in cali. I put $4k down. My payment is a lil over $900 for 5 years. They dealer tried to get me to finance for 7 years to get the payment in the high $700. But I declined that offer. My APR is 1.99% my hellcat was also bought brand new. Used car = higher interest.

@@6.2_zeus buy car with credit union 4-8 % interest ( lower payments by hundreds of dollars ) credit union give you a check based on what the car is worth and your credit and finance the car theu them ar half the Apr of the dealer I dont buy any cars w out having my own financing w a credit union plus when I’m late on a payment if I’m late they don’t add a late fee they just call me asking am I going to pay
Having that much debt for a car with a $1000 a month car payment at 20 years old is just stupid. If you keep making financial decisions like this you may be living with your moms for life!!!
