Not just a resonator, with any boxer or V type engine you want to equalize both cylinder banks with a crossover (X or H pipe), with resonators directly behind if you want duals. Makes all the difference.
As a 2GR owner... yeh. I ended up putting magnaflow 5x5x14 muffler in the center of the car and it tamed all the rasp but still let's the V6 sing. I agree they need some type of something somewhere in the system. Full straight on a nib turbo always sounds clapped

The high feature V6 is plenty capable but not many people take the time to maintain it let alone modify them. Long tube headers into a x pipe into cheap glass packs into long tail pipes make them sound nice and squash most of the poverty rasp .

cadillac, dodge, and Honda can produce by far the potentially worse sounding v6's ever depending on what type of setup the driver uses..that cadillac was probably one of the first v6's aside from other v6 chargers that sound similar or worse than 4 bangers

Most the Mercedes I have driven(never an AMG) always have the temperature needle resting above center. It is normal from my experience, I had read before that it was because of a higher accuracy in their sensors but that could be BS.
Clearly you’ve never owned a Mercedes, normal operating temps are between 80-100 Celsius. German cars are different…took me by surprise when I first bought my 2014 C-class.

i straight piped my 2016 scion which is pretty much the same thing and mine sounds pretty much the same at that corolla except i get a lot more pops. I've only had complaints about how loud it is but everyone has told me it sounded good.

the caddy is a prime example of why you always keep a resonator on a v6, doesn't matter if it's a VQ, 2GR or J series. they just rasp hella.

You do know that you keep saying straight pipes on most of your work on these cars and that’s incorrect, as if you were the “exhaust Addicts” then you’d know to have straight pipes you would need to have no cats, no mufflers or resonators… ie nothing but pipes from the manifolds ..
That's not true. By definition straight pipe is any one or all of those deleted
@beardedforlife3740 A straight pipe is a car with no muffler, no cats, and no resonator, it's a straight from the header exhaust or a header exit, still can have cats before the turbo though.
The fusion uses the same engine as the focus st? Sounds similar to mine just louder.
Videos like this make me wish people spent actual money on a real exhaust system. Most of these sounded like crap and it has absolutely nothing to do with the shop that did the work. Id be embarrassed if my car sounded like that
