    I love your honesty. It’s super cool to hear you lay out all the beans on the financial aspect of the fish business. For me the reward is like you mentioned in the intro. Do what you love for a living, and you’ll never “work” a day in your life. And you sir are making that happen! So I think we can all agree you came out above water over all!😅❤🇺🇸

    I just came across this video and everything you’ve said is so true and as i angelfish breeder myself I can relate to your experience on so many levels. For anyone who trying to get into breeding angels, I’d say breed only the “exotic” strains like Red cap albinos, bulgarian seal points or tuxedos etc or if you don’t have them available around you then you’ll probably have to breed the common strains like zebra, marble or platinums and you’ll have to produce a lot of them to make something out of them as they are worth less money.
    Pro advise do not inbreed angels

    Definatly makes me happy I kept my 300g and 180g (1136L and 681L) to use for angel grow out, I was worried about smaller tanks giving them bent fins

    I know this comment is late, but I just discovered your channel and have been super impressed!
    From a business perspective, I am curious how you come up with the cost of your equipment per project. From an accounting perspective, first you would figure out the depreciation rate (which is normally 5-10 years for a lot of things, but I'm sure whatever the Australian equivalent to the IRS has an exact number for fishery equipment). Then you could figure out how much your equipment depreciates a month and divide that by the percent of your equipment you used for each project. I'm only saying this because I would only use the full cost if you only used the equipment this one time, and then it was unusable. Since I'm assuming you're going to reuse your equipment, I think the viability of these projects should be a little bit higher than you estimated since they aren't actually taking up the entire cost of your tanks, filters, and such. Unless you never use the cost of equipment again in future projects, then makes all of your future that much more profitable, because there would be virtually zero equipment cost. You just want to make sure you don't calculate the cost multiple times.

    Hey mate find these vids very insightful, bit off topic here but I wanted to ask a question was watching one of your old vids on neon tetras. You mentioned when someone gets them they should quarantine them and medicate them with ich treatment and two other meds. What are the other two you use that are available to us here in Aus, I know aquarium co op uses stuff we can’t readily get.

  • @handy-capoutdoors4063
    @handy-capoutdoors4063 Год назад

    It is a good lesson learned. To reaserch the competition and if you are going to supply locally you need a product that is diffrent and desirable.
    A project I would like to start is Java moss. Because not a single local place sells it and most American suppliers do a hybrid or mixed clump of moss and then sell misleading small amounts for exuberant prices.
    If I can do a cost effective and space saving grow method and supply a pure strain for fair price for quantity and quality it will be profitable.
    I just need pure Java moss to start and a quantity of it. I just can't find a supply.

    It’s best to breed and sell uncommon but colourful fish. Fish like guppies and mollies are sold in stores in tanks of 300 fish but bigger fish like gouramis and discus fish are sold from tanks of 10 for 5x more money than guppies or other small fish
