I've been watching several videos about keeping fish/business today. And, I must say, you are a natural educator. Thank you so much for your generosity in frankly sharing your knowledge.
Hi! I bred Strawberry Finches for years and other rare finches. My kids were little and they just loved my hobby, it kept me home during there early years and kept them busy and entertained. Congrats! Now I am retired, maybe I should go back to my profitable hobby!
You enthusiasm in these videos has sparked an obsession in me from ten years ago when i was 17 and almost started a fish room like yours, Now i actually have money to afford it and might just go broke again because of it hahaha
I am currently building my fish room in a bedroom downstairs. We buy 2 tanks a month. One 40 gallon breeder, and one 20 gallon high. Over here where I live there is a huge fish shortage. I plan on breeding for profit as well. But takes time to set up. Been fish keeping for years and I love the hobby as well. Cheers and continued success.
Thanks for your helpful channel videos, I've been with your channel since 2018 and I believe you're grossly underestimated. You inspired me to breed angels, plecos, mollies, and guppies. My dream is to get a fish room just like you. You are inspiering a lot of us and I believe I can say for all of the people that follow your channel you are our go-to person on fish tips.
Good video, even if your tanks are a little bit small. You take good care of your Fish. Important for all future breeders, to speak with your local fish shop before you breed fish for profit. I know a lot of fish shops that don't buy fish from private breeders because of illness, sickness, quallitay, and the price the fish could have. For example, Bristlenose is such a common fish in Germany that no fish shop here will buy it from you. The most shops don't even want these fish as a gift. So do not forget to speak with your Shops before starting this hobby. They can tell you if they will buy fish from you or not and which kind of fish they need the most. Good luck to you and have some fun with the fish. 🙂
@@luannabrams Nice , we went shopping crazy during the lockdowns because it was so easy to order with home work... Now we are breeding less ;( And caring for more , İ want to fully switch to only 1-2 species , my favorite are barbs and tetras
The most profit I've made was actually with snails. The clea Helena. I bought one because there were many little snails in my tank. Seems like it was pregnant, so that I soon had 8 of them. After 2 weeks it were 50. I took out 40 of them and sold them to the same shop I bought one snail one month ago. I did this several times. In the shop they cost about 4,50$, I sold them for like 2$ each. The people in the shop were so happy to see me every time 😂 That was a lot of fun. I definitely recommend those snails. They're pretty and keep the aquarium kinda clean. Killing little snails, eating the rest of fish food on the ground or eating the remains of dead fish.
yeah this is cool, my dad did this with m. opercularis until it was FORBIDDEN for shops in germany to buy fish from private people. until maybe 2016 or sth like this if you see m. opercularis is our region they are babys from ours
Great to see your discus have finally breed for you. How old are they at the moment? What are you feeding? Whats your water change routine? Have you seen any die off in the batch? Sorry for all the questions, mine have just breed and are now sitting around 3 weeks of age so great to compare what you do' Cheers Oh yeah had my first spawn of rams the other week, didnt even know there was eggs, over night about a week of age they all disappeared :-( Gavin
The reason I watched your videos is because I was getting a couple neon Tetra And now I know how to take care Of neon Tetra because I watch your videos.
in indonesia it's 30 to 50 cent for the shrimp depends on the variation. but, in my experience there's some area where it didn't have any breeder of shrimp in here. so i think it's a go for shrimp
Back then…the most profitable fish for me was…angel fish, flower horn, bettas and discus. If u don’t have space…my advice is pick two that u can breed easily and stick to that.
"I may have this wrong." Mate, you're making a living doing the hobby we love, you're doing it right. If someone tells you that you're wrong as them to show you how they do it right. Not tell you, show you! Either you'll learn something I bet you most people who tell you you're doing it wrong have no experience with what you're doing.
First off, love your vid's, I've found you to be a solid source of interesting knowledge, I've been in to hobby for about 5 years now and it's so good to come across a local channel! Question! How do you approach fish shops? I Started out breeding guppies and neo caridinas and had success with corys, I was able to sell them privately but would prefer to sell to a shop. My preferred LFS's knocked me back saying they only buy from wholesalers and of the couple of stores I approached neither were big chain stores, one store stated one of the other reasons they wouldn't be interested was the cost of quarantining the fish, so I'm curious what your thoughts are and if you have any tips or suggestions. Cheers from Melbourne!
I just finished setting up my 3ft 150 litre tank and I’m planning on getting bristlenoses, corydoras, and angelfish as well as some Platys and some kuhli loaches and the plan is for them to all breed. I will be getting them all quite young so they are cheaper. (I got the tank for free and all the fish in total will be around $150) I want 12 Cory’s (6 peppered and 6 albino), 6 normal bristlenoses and 4 albinos, between 3-5 angels (will get a second larger tank for them once I see one someone is selling under $200, I paid $150 for a 150litre, 65litre, and 45litres tanks as well as all the filters and heaters that go with them and some basic fake plants and ornaments but I’m only use if live plants and caves
