I’ve been “Breeding for Profit” for 4 years now and I’ve only made one sale 😅.. my problem is falling in love with my babies and the plants 😂
hahah, yeah exactly! It does get easier with time though
It becomes easier to sell the fish when you dont have room for all the babies as they grow but there is always room for plants, i have plants in bowls of water that started as trimming i was going to propagate and sell but…ykno
The most real thing I’ve seen today out of my 5 years with guppies I only sold like 2 pairs of guppies but have sold some cherry shrimp that’s it lol 😂
It's amazing how far KFS has come in only a few years. So smart to come to America and visit so many well known fish keepers..
Dean’s 3 P’s are very wise advice for all aspects of life.
0:08 “I really have to ‘P’.”
_(x3)_ 😂
I AGREE :)
15:34 That cory went crazy
😂😂😂
I throughly love this guy! His knowledge is par none and I could listen to him for hours giving his knowledge on fish keeping and breeding! Some people just have that presence. He absolutely does and I think its awesome being a guest on the channel he shares so much! Thank you truly!
It's funny that listening to this totally describes my childhood 😅 35 years into the hobby going strong.
Dean's head on a paper boy amazing 😂
Nick , I have watched and listened to dean for several years, and I've been watching you for quite a while too. since you looked like a kid!
but I'd like to say I value your opinion and advice on breeding fish every bit as much as I do Deans !
for a young man you are extremely knowledgeable and are very successful in the fish business .
I second that!
pure love and passion here. It’s a fresh breeze for this busy world.
Dean is an amazing source of knowledge and experience. Love these videos!
I got credit for my first spawn of Oscars when I was 14 that was really cool
Watching this video inspires me to get into my fish room more and breed more fish, great video
28:11 I had to drive over 3 hours to make my first sale but getting 1k from fish I bred really made me happy
Loved this video so much! Dean and the whole aquarium Co-op team gave me so much info when I first started out in the hobby and then when I first started to get more serious your videos give some of the best advice out there, and to see you 2 talking together was amazing! Thank you!
9:55 i am so encouraged by all of this. the most solid advice ever. i've heard bits of this from other people BUT. the details on the report with them and to see selling for credit as a stepping stone towards just straight up sales.... GOLD.
Amazing thanks for sharing. I started selling fish in the 80's Angel fish and Cory cats were the bulk of my fish room. They paid for everything. And put money in my pocket.
The paperboy Dean photo is hliarious.
*Dean;* _(tips on selling fish)_ “Don’t have your pants down” 8:31
*Who gave Dean this advice…*
28:57
_Wait, who? Seems a bit contradictory… but ok, I guess._ 🤔 😂
My self i prefer old school because you will see more then on the Internet page in the store you may see some awesome plants some secrets, and you have time to ask and get answers which is wonderful to see someone devoted in this hobby same us you are
Always a treat to watch Dean and his fish room
Nick is single handedly keeping this hobby great and alive dean is the reason we have alot of fish you to are legends you should make a full backstory on how you got into the hobby.
Single handedly? Lol
Great video. Thanks for the collaboration for this video, it is very informative and inspiring.
I like that you guys don't really hold back on sharing the info with others. Thank you for the videos!
Such valuable information, thanks Nick
Great Video Guys!
Really great video!! Love the humor parts in the beginning with the paper-route and more pics, lol. I love fish, snails and plants. Guppies, Bettas, Pea Puffers and Bristlenose Plecos are my favorites.😊USA
Awesome video, keep it up!
This was really helpful
I have a 75 gallon with Tetra's and they are breeding like crazy.
Thank you so much... this gets me on the groove on building my fish breeding career.
amazing video loved the tips
OMG, Nick and Dean in the same video!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Let's go!!
_how you know they’re friends:_
*Dean;* “When I was a little kid…”
*Nick;* “What, 58 years ago?”
*Nick;* “When I was a little kid…”
*Dean;* “What, yesterday?”
😮 😂
Great video! I will definitely take the advice
THAT IS THE BEST VIDEO ABOUT FISHES THAT I HAVE EVER SEEN. DEAN IS A LEGEND AND LISTENING TO HIS STORY ABOUT STARTING IN THE HOBBY IS JUST AMAZING. KEEPINGFISHSIMPLE, YOU ARE AN AMAZING PERSON. I LOVE YOUR WORK AND I WISH LOTS OF SUCCESS TO YOU. KEEP UP WITH THE GOOD WORK!!!!! THANKS
This was fantastic
Great videos with Dean, Nick! I have the same thoughts with guppies. They passively produce and if you have just 30 females that you regularly separate (or basket), you’d get fry everyday every month. Steady and reliable producers.
👍🏻👍🏻 Great video for people looking to breed for profit or breed just to cover some expenses of the hobby
The legend for the hobby Master dean ❤ stay blessed stay happy dean sir
Q Who does the editing work 😂?
Quite fun to watch the edits 😂👌
Props for that 👏🏻 🙌 👌 👍
Huge ❤from india brother 🇮🇳
appreciate sharing this
I’m about to start fish for the first time. I’ve chosen, Guppies, Cherry Shrimp, and a mini yellow clam! I hope I can breed and sell Guppies and Cherry shrimp. I’ll definitely use the 3 P method.
Dean is such a cool dude.
I wish I could hang out with him as well.
Another great video
Thank you so much!
I'm loving these animations! 🤣🤣🤣
Good show 👏
Another great video! It's like watching a jedi master and his padawan. 😁
Dean is the man!!!
i like both discus AND angelfish : )
Thanks for creating a great video guys. Dean, I still love the Brine Shrimp video two thumbs up.
Sold my first load of standard bn and now have my first order for my bristlenose and now the second my f3 electric blue acaras woop wicked video
Now imagine being equally obsessed with turtles & tortoises also. Hope my gf doesn’t leave me.
Yes, I can imagine it easily. My original career track was marine biology but also deeply interested in herpetology, avian biology, botany, landscaping… basically all aspects of husbandry/maintenance of many/most “exotic” living organisms at home. I believe it’s important to find a partner with (at least) similar interests. If not you may start resenting each other, I’ve seen it happen to my brother… several times.
Brother you inspired me to start a project on fishes 🎉
Cheers ❤
Best Videos
It was much more difficult bk then like Dean said, thanks to social media. I breed n sell bettas as well
😅
Superb
VERY INTERESTING VIDEO :)
THANK YOU FOR SHARING :)
THANK YOU FROM ISRAEL :)
I trade in my fish to a local garden centre. At first I felt ripped off. Now I get a better deal with the owner. Shops are taking a risk as the need to know your fish are healthy as it can damage their reputation if your fish aren't good quality. I always ask how many of my fish died, do they have any left. Build up a good rappor.
Depp talk good vidio bro, i have been breeding betta fish & guppy in my country. Hi from Indonesia 👍👍
loved the cartoons ahahah that was hilarius!!!!!!
Dean is such a Giga Chad
One good way is to ask your lfs what they want. I have couple of breeds that my lfs said that they buy from me if I get them to breed.
I have guppies in a 40g and they breed like crazy and a lot of my babies make it to adulthood thanks to a heavily planted tank. I noticed a lot of the fish stores in my area seem to get bad batches of guppies more often than not. I really want to get into parrot fishes and clowns so if I can use the guppies to fund those 2 projects that’d be a win.
Its my long term goal to be able to breed for profit, im in no rush i would like it to be a secondsry source if income as i get older since i have a physically demanding job, im getting to a point now where im breeding for sales not so much profit just yet, i have 4 projects i want to focus on and for two of them i have been able to breed my store bought fish a few times and get a decently sized group of healthy and pretty breeders i am just now growing out (one are corys and wont be ready for a few months) and when they are old enough start breeding them and selling the babies when they are old enough
I wish i had a bigger market here in my country (Philippines) the best i can sell here is like every other 3 months. and i have to be careful not to saturate the market. also like dean i prefer to sell wholesale not retail. It just does not make sense to have people come over buy fish there and compete with local fish shops. I prefer to support them.
do one for habrosus corydoras
Guppies, Mollies, Platty's and Angel and other cichlids all are perfect beginer if you know the basic parameters when you are breeding them.
I've been selling sword tails I bred since I haven't set up a propper breeding setup I just put the babies in a 50L tank so they took 5 months to get to the right size I had 2 spawns in there and it totaled to 60 fish
Hey KFS, why dont you keep any betta fish on your website?
I really want one. Love your website and videos❤
🐟
we need a indepth tour
Quick question....for example, breeding angels...in this case there are several hundred eggs and or fry to deal with...how many , how big are the aquariums or water vessels, involved in breeding and raising the fry?
While electric blue acaras and angel fish fry are growing what you prefer to feed them guys?
I hadn't seen Such BRIGHT RED DEVIL ANGEL FISH in India 😮💨
Hope I can get advice here . In my bedroom I have a 2ftx2ft dead space . I built the stand thinking of going with a Innovative marine 25 lagoon . Can a group of corydora thrive in that size ? If so what species and how many would you recommend? Or what tank would you recommend? 2x2 is my limit so that's the restriction.
I am just about to move my tanks out of the garage and into a whole room just for my tanks. I currently breed pea puffers and I know exactly what set up I am soo g for them however what size tanks would you recommend if I want to breed angels and discuss and rams. I also have a number of L plecos which will go L plecos that will go in the bottom.
0:49 thats crazy to me bc I never had a potential to sell anything to anyone. I just need to move to a fish hotspot lol. Idk how youd find that info out tho, all I do know is that Ohio sucks for fish haha.
Nick I am also young 13 to be exact any advice for youtube and the hobby?
❤
I make money off Val and shrimps for sure but I can sell shrimp faster than I can breed them.
Bro commenting awesome video when it dropped 4 minutes ago
Yeah I know the RUclipsr so I know it’s quality
I’m very got too many kribs and have no idea how to sell them lol
🤟🤟
1st!!
Well I'm doing something right cause my platies and my gubbies run to service to see me well to eat, 😆 🤣
3:27 here hubbies are doing it from their wives...
Bro's been doing it since the paper route LUL
Let’s see if Facebook marketplace will let me sell Guppies lol
My main problem with selling fish is how fricking of an introvert i am.... Im doomed to never make a good business until i get rid of this...
African Cichlids are the best
like
gets sorta romantic around 15 minutes in
Off topic, but question for you KFS, can betta fish be housed in jars or barrack systems? Large! But without filters and heaters? Sorry I’m still learning 😊
Buying fish from a mortician by appointment? Nice! 😂
Kinda sad about Your African Cichlid comment. I've bred Julies and Neolamps for years and made excellent profits!
